OMG this is exactly what I've been searching for! This past week I've been repairing the bottom of the heels on all of my handknit socks. Thank you for sharing this!!
Thank you, Thank you! I am repairing heels of my husbands knit socks. I did not know to keep the gusset pattern going while I shaped the heel! That will help, I hope! He wears through so fast on the heels!
I do have a free download on Ravelry! It features an eye of patridge heel flap instead of a slipstitch heel flap, but if you have any questions on how to substitute that, feel free to reach out. :)

I'm so glad! It's been a lifesaver for my socks. :)

@@carolmurphy2616 I'm so glad! I'm hard on my socks too!
Great tutorial!!
Awesome tutorial and I loved the French heel! I’m gonna try it today on a sock in progress!
Yay! I can't wait to hear how it turns out!
Love your explanation where did you buy the yarn?
Online. :) The self-striping is from Nomadic Yarns and the heel is from Paton's Kroy.
@@KnittingThrough thanks
Do you have this pattern for purchase? I have been looking for one with this type of textured heel, heel turn, gusset and sole!
