Hello thanks so much for sharing this video . I have a BMW 2003 760li it was just serviced at BMW dealership 3 weeeks into driving car started misfiring multiple cylinders a check engine light came on for a moment then went out but still pending did search on youtube your site came up with your troubleshooting procedure . I had decided to try your method which saved me time and money and ordered parts on ebay pcv vavle 2 driver side and passenger side aftermaket cost total at 28$. The pcv vavle on engine was accessible and easy to replace. The car idle excellent and smooth after replacement of pcv vavle was performed. Thanks a million time for sharing your experience.

I have a couple spare valves that I removed from a junk car. I tried your test and both failed so i opened one of them to inspect internals and the diaphragm appears in perfect shape. Looking at the internals I don't see how it could possibly seal air in the glove when blowing in air from compressor.... there is an internal spring holding the valve open and the only way I see it closing is if you were to apply a vacuum where you are blowing in air. I plan to order a new one and will repeat the experiment. I'd love to see confirmation from others that have repeated your test. My car (BMW 760i) is running fine but always room for improvement. Thanks!

You are 100% correct. There are two variations of these valves depending on year, but they both work the same. The glove on a good valve will still bleed down but I have found, it will take more time vs one with a torn diaphragm. These were my findings & that is why I do the test.

Is this also common for the BMW N73B60 on the 760I and 760LI?

Good video and I followed your steps but it didnt work for me, my 760Li is still misfiring. The symptoms are a popping sound on idle from the exhaust and a shake in the cabin. Some juddering under acceleration too. Wonder if you have any ideas? (replaced coil packs and sparks whcih also didnt work).

Could be vacuum leak. Suggest you do a smoke test to find any leaks.

Did you resolve this? If not look into the levers for the valvetronic

Sounds like valve stem seals to me, based off the small amount of information you have provided. Feel free to email me & I can do my best to try and help you diagnose your problem.
You can find my information in the about page of my channel.
