I bring a stainless steel insulated drink bottle. I fill it once or twice a day with ice, and a mix of water and lemonade, and it stays cold for 10 to 12 hours. That way I can get a cold drink in my cabin at pretty much any time of the day or night without running to a dining area.
The best use for zip lock bag is a gallon size slide zip lock to keep in your room Safe. You use it to put whatever you are keeping in your safe together so you never have to worry about leaving something behind.
Take out dinner "trays" (free tupperware), rectangular shaped with tight fitting lids, for storing food in the fridge or for packing things that can smoosh. I like to order a cheese plate for dessert, take back to the room for later wine and cheese on the balcony. The cruise ship to go plates are a nuisance (slippery) to carry or store, so I transfer to the plastic. I also order cookies and keep for later, in those same containers or zip locs.
Electric votive candles are inexpensive and tiny night light. Also, if you leave your TV on the bridge cam with no sound you don't need to pack a sunrise alarm clock.

I always travel with a small flashlight that I keep on the bedside table. Also, I always roll all my dirty clothes as I remove them to make packing to go home easier. I usually put them in the suitcase under the bed but you could do that before putting them in the hamper. Great tips!
Ziploc bags are king and queen of my cruising life. I bring several empty ones because without fail, I will find a use. I bring quart and gallon size ones. They are ESPECIALLY helpful for keeping stuff clean and sand free on excursions ;-)
Regarding dirty clothes, I use garbage bags. They are smaller than the hampers and can deal with wet or dry stuff. If you are doing laundry on board, you can just haul it down as well. Plus if you don't do laundry on board, it is easier to fit into luggage and provides an odor barrier when traveling home.
The collapsible hamper folds up really small. I like how we can air out wet/damp clothes first before packing up. We end up dumping everything to a garbage bag at the end. =)
The packing cubes for me are a life changer! Unpacking and packing is so much easier! I have had mine for a while that I got on Amazon and recently bought some at TJ Maxx. I have a bad habit of taking too much stuff which is an incurable issue (lol) and I take the heavier cubes and put them in my carry bag. Also, I take my toiletries from my suitcase and a change of clothes and put in in my carry bag in case my bags are delivered to my cabin later.
Re laundry, we just slide our cases under the bed open and then fold our laundry and put it in the case when it’s dirty. That way the packing at the end of the cruise is really easy.
I bought a European USB hub, so that I can make use of the (otherwise useless) European plug. As for night light, I use a battery powered tea light, because there's sometimes no plug in the bathroom. I leave my empty suitcase open under the bed, and it becomes the laundry hamper. The dollar store also sells magnetic photo sleeves, and my cruisemates create a fun meme photo as a door decoration.
Matt! I just got off the Harmony of the Seas and had an interior cabin. I purchased on Amazon a thin plastic wall mural backdrop printed to look like the ocean and the sky for my “Ocean view”! And it was fabulous! It was HUGE ( 4 feet tall by 30 feet wide) so I simply cut it( bring scissors) And within minutes, using small magnets i hung it and quickly I had my ocean view! And this was the first time I did NOT get motion sickness! I packed it in my carry on so while I waited for my luggage to arrive I was busy! I also picked up some cheapo flowers at the Dollar Tree and stuck them in one of the ship’s plastic tumblers.
My wife found out the packing cubes a few years back. These things are the best ever and really work for us. You just take out the cube and place in the draws. Being in the military, you learn to roll up items, but the cubes help with that so I get even more items packed in our luggage.
I don’t waste money on clothes cubes, I use the jumbo ziplock bags for my clothes and shoes. I also use ziplock bags for anything liquid in case my luggage is on the bottom of a stack.
Instead of a laundry basket my wife and I will take the largest suitcase we have and put it in the closet standing up. It has a zipper that you can open partially and it works great
I use all the tips, except packing cubes. We also bring a highlighter to mark any activities we might be interested in, a travel coffee cup, a water bottle each for excursions. Definitely decorations for the door otherwise I would never find my cabin 😋
Packing cubes are nice if you’re overweight. You can bring a grocery bag and if you’re overweight you can put a packing cube in the grocery bag and carry it on
I often need small souvenirs for people and I buy magnets from the ship and use those to pin paperwork to the walls. At the end, the magnets then become the souvenirs.
For dirty cloths my parents always bring a few pillow cases or a reusable bag on every trip. It's definitely easier then ordering something you'll probably only use for trips.
I always bring small trash can bags, dryer sheets, and a few of those trial/travel laundry detergents. The trash bags work for bagging up unexpected dirty items at the end of the cruise especially to separate it from everything else. The dryer sheets and detergent are good for both self-service laundry, or with just the detergent you can wash a couple items in your sink that you need again after they get soiled, or use the dryer sheets to keep clothes in the drawers or your suitcase smelling fresh.
One tip I haven't seen anywhere, but particularly on Alaskan cruises is to bring maybe binder clips or those butterfly hair clips for the window curtains if you're not in an interior cabin. It just never gets dark and there's always a gap in the curtains.
Awesome tips. I haven't been on a cruise in years, but the packing cubes are great. When my kids were little it helped me to pack a little early. The color coding helped them know where to get their stuff. They are also great if you have to fly and may need to go through luggage with TSA. You don't have stuff all over the place and it is easy to put it back. Thanks for this video! I would not have thought of the magnets or night light

One word was accidentally left out. You want a USB "Charging" hub specifically. Most regular old USB hubs do not support charging. If someone searches for and buys a "USB Hub" on amazon, they are not going to get what they want for charging multiple devices. It even says that in the text of some the sample Amazon items shown in the video at about 5:55 . Just trying to keep someone from getting the wrong thing. The better search would be for "USB charging hub" or "multi port USB wall charger."
General travel hack is to use clothes hangers with the clips (or bring chip or binder clips) to clip the curtains together and make the room darker. Also silicone travel bottles for shampoo and body wash. I love using whiteboards to communicate on board. Very low tech but just an easy way to communicate on a ship if you don't need to tell someone Right Now.
They might be small but what we did we timed how many hours we spent in the room while we where awake and you will be shocked how little time your in there so much going on in the ship its crazy rooms are just for sleeping so save your money and definitely book inside room thats a huge money saving tip. 👍💰
I love that Royal Caribbean allows you to bring your own drinks onboard, that's usually enough sodas or drinks for me, or at least enough to offset wanting a drink package. My bonus tip is to bring on a small bottle of Magic Shell to put on the ice cream from the pool deck.

I remove them before the last nite….thats when I found I had most trouble. Also, I MAKE my magnets….use all those thin advertising ones, print out your message/ picture etc from internet, glue on.
We put our dirty clothes back in our suitcase which is stored under the bed.
When resting in hotels on land, I bring a giant black garbage sack to put my old dirty clothes in. Hope that would be allowed

As of 5/02/22 Royal Caribbean will no longer honor price match guarantee 🤬
We have seen 2 price drops since we initially booked ( July 22) and RCCL have honoured the lower prices as long as it’s prior to 2 final payments being due, saved us $1200!
Do people really need a 10;28 video to help them think of these things. "Geez Brad, I NEVER thought of bringing a zip lock bag on vacation"
I actually found this video helpful. While we do a lot of camping and have ridden bikes across entire states and do use zip locks frequently for a variety of things....I hadn't considered their use on a cruise. Along with a few other ideas mentioned in the video.
i am sorry for me (travel alone) these tips are mostly useless, usb maybe, zip locks for sure, the rest garbo, entirely my opinion though
