@@GreySectoid Noty that many actually, they are to expensive. But I still have a Pentax p30 film camera that I bought on a holliday in Cyprus in 1994 as n extra camera, manual focus was not for me.
Else I have 4 more cameras and about 7 lenses. My first dSLR is still sitting in a drawer. A Canon EOS 10D. Ordered for an insane ammount of money from DH in New York in 2003.

Hey Kasey, have you ever considered entering into the anamorphic lens community? Yes we suck, and we have to use the word "cinematic" at least 24 times a day at the minimum, BUT you get a cool aspect ratio and some cool looking effects!
But there is that terrible horizontal flare through every shot with a bright light that never happens in real life. I do see those flares in some movies, but those lenses are not for me. Not that they are not great lenses for what they do. It's just that they are not my cup of tea.

I too struggle with the buying things I don’t need. I’ve recently just started on the road of mft gear again. I say again because I’ve done compact, bridge style cameras, aps-c , full frame and now full circle back to micro four thirds. 15 years later I’m back where I started. This time I’m enjoying taking photos and now not caring what special gear I have. Love the videos because I totally relate to having too much gear and duplicates lol.
The Viltox 20/2.8 coupled with the Nikon 40/2 on my Z6iii are a sweet combo. Equally interesting on my Z30/Z50's as well. Thank you for the insights!
Viltrox 20f2.8 on the Z30 sounds great. 30mm might be the ideal focal length. Right between 28 and 35. 👌

Yeah, it's an ongoing process. For me I do longer recordings or HDMI output a lot and want to eventually transition to 4k or even 6k which limits a lot of options. Pretty much seems like only the FX3, FX30, and Lumix S5ii. It's hard to find verified tests on the other older gear doing hours of 4k HDMI output I could actually afford, lol.
Let's just admit that if Fuji made a full frame version of the XT5 or XT4, we'd be swapping to Fuji system loooooong time ago

I can simply your life. Spend the next 3 years re-testing all of your gear on various $10,000 color grading monitors. Then you'll realize that all of your opinions about everything have been flat-ass wrong. Then, once you've found the perfect set of gear relative to your favorite grading monitor, you can then let in to your consciousness that 90% of TH-cam viewers are watching your videos on iPhone 5s and Acme mobile devices in dazzling sunlight or under flickering fluorescent lights.

Been using the sigma 30mm 1.4 (EX version) very underrated has a bit of 3d pop. I dont plan on selling it ever, better than newer sigma 30mm A/C lenses IMO. Might wanna check it out?

The madness is real! The perfect camera with a flawed photographer or the flawed camera with the perfect photographer. There is no perfect camera and perfect photographer! I told myself this spring not to buy anymore gear because I was hooked buy G.A.S. I feel so much better now understanding that the cameras I have are to be used and not collected or used once. I am learning more about myself and the way I take photos...It is not the best or the newest, but it is what I have and I am content. (as of today) It is so hard not to look, think hey that would solve a problem....or better my image taking. The cries for help are real. Thanks for sharing!

Screw stopping down. Wide open all the time. If you're gonna stop down, you might as well use the kit lens. They literally give the same look once you stop down.
keep both ( Sony and Nikon ) it might take longer, it might be slower but once you are done, you will keep your Workhorse ( Sony A7S III ) by now your are most used to, workflow and stuff related. And Nikon ( pretty good if you ask me), your last fling /crush.
Acne, double down suggestion, instead of a 85mm why not go further? a prime Telephoto 135mm F2/180mm F2.8/200mm Ff2.8.
for your "studio" vids
Lets try more nikon ai/ais glass for 3D poppage. Cheap and some goodies. Try 55 2.8 macro and some 35s

You need to borrow the Nikon 300mm F2 lens and do a review. It’s the best 300mm ever made in history
Maybe you just need one lens and try moving the camera back and fourth or your self .
Counting the days until you go back to preferring Canon.
Or the Fooj. With the 33 T1.4, no need for the 35 T1.4. Although the 35 is 1/3 stop brighter in real use. But the 33 has more acuity and is actually more usable at 1.4.
Man, when do you think they’ll drop the price of the a1? The R5ii is so close to it in many ways and may even have better autofocus for 4300 bucks US, why would anyone spend 6500 US for a 4 year old camera technology? Especially when Sonys new cheaper stuff has better technology?

@@titaniumben9923 I have a few but nothing super expensive Hanimar 135mm f/2.8, Zeiss 29mm f/2.8, Optomax 35mm f/2.8, Unitor 200mm f/3.5, Sirui 35mm f/1.8 (1.33x anamorphic) & just ordered a Helios 44-2 just thought I’d see what the fuss is about. That lot will also fit my Sony A7S2 if required. Also have my old 50mm f/1.8 off my Praktica MTL3 that I had as a teenager.

X-S20 is a nice camera, but bit fragile, mine went dead after tripping on a tripod. No sign of damage on the outside, but got "unrepairable" mark from the service. Patty

I have bought a lot of cameras and lenses. In fact, I have bought well over 400 lenses (that I wrote down, probably a few dozen more that I forgot to record on my lists), Now clearly, this goes beyond GAS to the disease level. Still, I think it was necessary in my case. What brand of camera do I like? What kind of lenses do I like? What genres of photography do I like? If you like macro, you need a macro lens. If you like portraits, you need portrait lenses. A long lens is needed for wildlife. I think the only way to know if I am going to like something is to try it. It think renting first does not always work, because there is that short honeymoon period where everything is sunshine and lollipops and you did not discover those niggling flaws. So there is a purpose to GAS, but it is important not to go beyond the calculated budget. Now, I don't have that many cameras and lenses anymore. I have the ones that I really like a lot. While I think that the value of equipment is extremely overblown (a talented person can do better with a cell phone that someone untrained with a ten thousand dollar camera) it is still a good idea to learn what you want and what you enjoy.
