This is too cool! Love the split screen while the storytelling recounts the tale and the game play illustrates the action! This is the future of solo play ! The story! The game play! Cool miniatures! And the excitement of the player! Love it!
These are so freaking awesome- the cinematic drama of your narration and the tabletop dice rolls and models in play is probably the only way I can enjoy battle reports . I am absolutely always here the story you're weaving for us, Citizen Ignatius! It's a real pleasure watching these Silver Bayonet videos. If Joe McCullough ever options the movie rights, I hope he talks to you first 😂
Aaaaaah our old friends! If I HAD to fight nightmare creatures in the French countryside, this is absolutely the crew I’d want to do it with! Claude and Ottilie were on FIYAH, I couldn’t believe that second roll! 🔥🔥
I really enjoy these sessions of the Silver Bayonet! I’m always able to glean a wealth of great ideas, as well as sparking ideas of my own. Thank you!🙏
Great story sir. I'm so invested in this warband and campaign now. By the way, I totally believe you on the crits. I've had certain characters in various skirmish games I've played who always seem to roll godlike when it really counts. As you say, so cinematic. Thanks for the video and take care.
I thought I was watching a horror movie from the 60s...excellent dialog and character narrative! Three Critical throws...how insane is that? Love it because the story could have taken a different turn and then you're painting up new/backfill characters. Great stuff...keel it coming!
Loved it, rolling 3 crits you lucky boy. I hadn't noticed it in the other batreps, the chopsticks. I've never really had a play space littered with so much terrain so I've considered it but your use of chopsticks was masterful as well as inspiring. Chapeau
@@tabletopalchemy Chopstick customisation, interesting new rabbit hole for miniature gamers to argue in. Best length, roundness, diameter. I can see some fierce battles over optimised chopstick handling and what happens about touching other models, the terrain etc.🤣 I've finally dropped some coin on getting a British forces together using a mix of British and Spanish models with a bit of remodelling required to get non infantry models. I can do the hunters/occultist etc from existing models I've got. I've gone for a more traditional Napoleonic theme, largely because I started a long time ago in Napoleonics with 1/72nd Airfix PVC minis and globs of enamel paint (white, red, black, brown, flesh) no shading, all done with a "0" brush. You've encouraged me to flesh out the team, not something I often do but was something that I've done in Ivan Sorensens 5 Parsecs from Home because of that solo games narrative campaign style. I hope you have a great festive season and a great new year
Great story and Kudos to the background music and sound FX. Some of those gunshots sounded very close to a few used on some fun filled spaghetti westerns. I was laughing my ass off.
Lol they exactly were! I almost was able to license tracks directly from Ennio Morricone once 20 years ago for a short film that fell thru, but a writer I worked with new him personally, insane.
@@tabletopalchemy DUDE!!! That is a dream for anyone working in sound or in any recording profession. I am a huge fan of Spaghetti Westerns. A few friends and I will do random quotes from those movies when the mood hits. "There are two kinds of people out there. Those who know Spaghetti Westerns and those who don't".
Wow, the dice really tell a story, don't they? Critical hit or miss, are equally fun, in my mind. Both can lead to great storytelling moments. Another amazing mission in the books! And no party losses. Unbelievable. I was worried for our intrepid band of adventurers, facing two vampires, but the squad came through when needed. And I love the way they rally to each other. If I'm being honest, I am curious just how bad a vampire face to face could be, and was looking forward to watching it unfold. May haps, as the legend of les Chasseurs de Cauchemars grows, other members of this vampire coven will come a calling?
Okay, so I FINALLY got to watch and man, oh man, it was awesome! You truly have a gift for inspired narration! And THREE CRITS!?!?!?! Whoa. I am with you that I would love to see this as a movie or series in live action. But, I feel like I've watched it already because your storytelling is just that good! **slow clap** My hat's off to you, sir. Cheers! 🍻
@@tabletopalchemy I love terrain packed tables They build so much atmosphere and story, but biy do they make it difficult to move minis and track tokens.
Indeed. A great story line is developing. Excellent presentation. I also saw that you used chopsticks to move some of the figures in tight terrain. My chopsticks skill level is very poor. You demonstrated skill, I would be flipping figures in random directions
@michaeltribou4261 lol I’ve been thinking about how to move the dang minis around for a while and grabbed the sticks outta frustration. I think there’s a market for some kind of long, thin padded gripper tool.
Thanks! In fact I’ve purchased an option from Joe for Rangers of Shadow Deep! There is a reason I couldn’t go after The Silver Bayonet, but the Rangers project is coming along 🤙🍻
Love the next chapter and I noticed you raided your LEGO for tokens and the artifact. May I suggest you mark up some measuring sticks to better match that beautiful table?
I’ve had to put the SB battle reports on hold for a while because the Rangers of Shadow Deep movie project is currently taking up a lot of time and creative headspace (in addition to a bunch of day job stuff). Two of the scenarios I reported are in the main rule book and the third I just made up myself. 😎🍻
I appreciate your slight French pronounciation of revanant. Just adds a bit more to the flavour. (Also, your channel is criminally underexposed and I'm grumpy on your behalf)
Is this a game or just extra homework? The description is overwhelming (what happened to “show don’t tell ?” - do you think it would be interesting as story (past tense ) from a survivor recanting what happened? Need more voices - 😂- the gaming parts keeps breaking the immersion- but I am enjoying it (difficultly but it’s created ) enjoying the channel! Thanks !
Lol all points valid here. I agree that the game mechanics cripple the immersion. And as much as I’d love to show more than tell, I’m 1) not the best at that, and 2) I suppose I’m approaching this more as “radio play/screenplay table read/podcast with visual aids” - maybe one day I can do the cinematic version (one can (and does) dream)! A single pov recanting is an interesting idea too🤙⚔️🏴☠️🍻

Love watching these brother, completely fantastic! I think these are some of the best battle reports on TH-cam my friend.
Thank you, that’s very cool to hear, stoked you enjoy em! ⚔️🏴☠️🍻
There needs to be more of this kind of narrative in this type of wargame video.
I dream of a full on “radio drama” style podcast or something like that lol. 🍻
I can’t give this video enough likes! Your narrative battle reports are unlike any other battle reports I’ve seen. Well done. More please.

Now that’s a compliment right there! Also, me too lol! (And Lego ftw!)
I absolutely love your storytelling on these. Thank you!
