I am a 40 year old who just finally started exercising. I have been doing an almost 2 mile jog every day. This cool-down routine I can tell will be a great help with my tight leg muscles. Thanks for a video that even beginners can do.
I can't thank you guys enough for the tips and exercises you share for runners like me.. I'm just starting with running but I already ran my first 5k in Dubai Run last month in 45minutes.. I know it's kinda slow but it was so inspiring. I love this channel so much.
@slay ay ay ay Don’t think….Don’t stop…But if or when you, forgive yourself and MOVE ON! 3 yrs ago, I was running 1/2 marathon every week on one day with 2 other short runs the other days. I was disciplined. Life… death..happened and turned my world 🌎 completely upside down. Now 3️⃣ yrs later I’m trying to get back to a healthier happier version of myself. But I’m back to square ⏺ barely able to make it through a 5K! The only thing constant is time and coming back to this video after each 🏃♀️ 🧡🤍 🎶MOVE🎶 Run/walk/Get back up ⬆️ Encouraging you 🫵🏻 to slay!!! And as a reminder for myself!! We both got this‼️
I’m proud of you. I’ve been running for about a year. I was in very bad health and my doctor told me I had to get in shape. I lost 75 lbs and run every day. Don’t worry. It gets easier with each run. Keep going. Your times will improve.
- Squat hold off tension (1min. / 0:38) - Downward dog mixed with upward dog (1min. / 1:58) - Pigeon stretch (1min. on each side / 3:15) - Child's pose + Rotation (1min. / 5:39)
Thank you! I started running every day because of the break from school, and without stretching, I injured my calves pretty quickly. I had to take a few days off, but now that I’m back into it, my calves already feel better after this stretch!
Just finished my first real run after months of struggling with an injury that still bugz me, but it is getting better. Today I proclaimed that I am a total newbie again and did all the beginner instructions from you guys, from technique for beginners, your follow along warm-up as well as this cool-down after my 30min run. Feels great! Thank you so much for your constant effort to help us get better in running and health and fitness in general. You guys rock! Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina! :)
I really appreciated this guided stretch routine. I feel so much better post-run. Stretching is often underestimated and SO important. Thank you so much!
Just finished my second attempt at running and I forgot to stretch at the end. WOW these stretches did wonders for my legs 😳 I was so tight after and this really loosened me up. Keep up the great work and I love this channel
Thank you so so much, I’ve started to incorporate these warm downs and warm ups into my free running and it’s doing wonders ! Thank you from the bottom of my joint pain 💗
I cannot wait until the end of this video, because I have to tell you guys, that you are doing great, great work with your content! I'm so happy that I found your channel, so many useful stuff. Keep going, because thanks to you, a lot of people I think can "keep going" :)
TY ! This was a perfect post stench ! I have a bad rt. knee. But showing the benefits of spreading your 🦵& knees during the Child’s Pose was a game changer !!! This was the 1st in a long time that my knee did not hurt as I did this stretch ! Soooo thank you ! Also ty for doing the stretches with the viewer ! 😀
Thanks this was a good cool down, despite me struggling to get into any of the positions! I will try to do it more often and hopefully improve flexibility. I'd be interested in any videos covering calf and ankle mobility as I know that's really limiting my running. Thanks!
I just started running, but I have always wanted to. I never knew I loved it so much until I tried it. Now I can't go without it. It's so....energizing Also, I find myself getting nauseous after a run...any tips?
I know I’m late and you probably won’t see this but depending on what time you go, don’t eat breakfast before you run. Eat something light before your run. Second, this may sound weird but don’t forget to 💩 before your run. Third, don’t forget to walk for a bit to let your body get ready to run, as well as not running too fast to early. And lastly,STAY HYDRATED hope this helps😁
Brighton And Bella Yes! But when you drink, try to take it in small sips and I heard stretching before and after can help with the nausea. Also try not to over exert yourself(just don’t run till you pass out) and you should feel a bit better. Hope this helps
Avoid eating two hours up front. Warm up. Dont go too fast (out of nowhere) you’re body will tell u to stop. Just start slowly and build up. You’ll get better the more you run but warming up is always important.
Just done, coach Holly! This past week has been brutal to me and today I was finally able to get my run in for the first time this week. Lower back pain and getting nine stitches on my right forearm due to some accident have left me laid low, but thanks to watching Run Experience coaching, I've been able to stay sane with my healthy spirit. Thank you all, coaches of Run Experience, as always!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I am super thankful for these videos. You guys have helped me massively along my weight loss/lifestyle change journey. A year ago, I could hardly jog for 1-2 mins without gasping for air. Just in the month of March alone, I ran over 100km and am absolutely in the best shape of my life. Thanks for the help along the way :)
Thanks for this cooldown routine I’ve been using it for over 2 years and I only have problems with injuries when I stop doing cooldown stretches after every run 😊
Thank you for all of your videos, especially this one, which I have done after every run for the past 6 months and swear by it. Thank you too for introducing me to Maria’s Yoga. I’ve introduced her cool down after yours and feel great, so a big thanks to you guys and Maria. Keep up the good work Holly, Nate and team 🙌
Just started running again like I did in my 20’s, doing a mile a day. I’ve been doing yoga the last couple of years so I appreciate these stretches and a quick session post run. Thanks!
I have had an awful cold last week and was in bed that whole week. And I’m having a hard time finding the motivation. But I did hill reps this morning, and it was amazing. So if you guys are struggling... just get out there! You won’t regret it.
This is one of the best post run stretching routines I have found, well done. All I would do differently is to add a bit of time in them and make them longer (will do anyway). Many thanks for sharing this.
This has been the post-run cool down that finally helped me increase mileage without hurting myself. I've been using it for 4 months now and it's really helped with shin splint issues.
Hi Coach Holly. Just wanted to say huge thanks for your videos. I’d been having knee and ankle problems, probably because I wasn’t warming up/down properly. I started using your videos religiously and feel so much better. My performance has improved as well as my issues. Thank you! X
Mobility is something I am trying to improve on as a runner. It's weird that I have a lot of flexibility in certain moves and then I'm rather stiff in others. So the pigeon stretch was easy peasy but the the downward dog was a little bit tough. Obviously things to work on. Thank you so much for this follow along video.
Nice! It really isn't ever too late! Our beloved Coach Edward started running in his 60s! He has since qualified to run the Boston Marathon multiple times!
The pidgeon stretch is one of my favourite positions. I'll lay flat out across my leg. Arms outstretched in front of me. I find it, I know this sounds weird, a really relaxing pose. But yes, fantastic cool down Holly
I’ve decided to run every other day, and I watch this video after every run. It works really well! I am much less tight the next run. I also add the calf stretch against the wall, and sitting on the floor reaching for my toes along with the stretches on the video. Happy running everyone!😃
Any tips for being stuck at a time? I am stuck at 10:47 and get that time almost always. My goal overall is to get under 8 minutes, but for now... I’m really working on breaking ten minutes. Any help would be appreciated!!😁
I don’t run but I do for a 1 hour brisk walk each morning and I was always doing a pre stretch but after finding this I don’t feel as worn down after anymore!
I like the juxtaposition in this video. On the left You have the Iron chain leading into the suspension bridge in the background, Strong, you can depend on it, trust it. it's got you... Then you have the Sea on the right, more fluid, more dynamic but a force of nature and just as powerful. Then you have our girl Holly in between the two.... combining the strength of the steel and fluid power and grace of the ocean . very symbolic.
-one minute squat hold off tension
-downward dog + upward dog
-pigeon stretch
-child pose with rotation
Excellent cooldown
Just started running because the schools are closed now
Love this channel

how’s your 5ks going now?
I’m 17 yo now and I remember last year I ran a 5K race in 19 minutes and 41 seconds.

so glad to help, Mily!
I did both your warm up and your cool downs. I ended up with a more complete workout then usual thanks!
Omg I did the same thing but I injured my left hip! the warm ups and cool downs have helped me so much
That pigeon position is madness. Awesome video. I really enjoyed. Thank you.
This and the warm up video are my go to anytime I run now. There's something really encouraging about the instructors attitude. Thanks so much :)
That's awesome! So glad these are working for you.
Coach Holly is my hero!!

When we switched to the other side on the pigeon stretch damnnnn I didn’t actually know how knotted I was it felt amazing thank you!

I loved this. It was a great reminder to use my yoga after a hard run. Thank you
Excellent Tutorial Coach Holly 🥰
Thank you so so much, I’ve started to incorporate these warm downs and warm ups into my free running and it’s doing wonders ! Thank you from the bottom of my joint pain 💗

Coach Holy 🎉 You rock my workout world since i found this video. After every run, and I run twice a day, I do your warm down. Works like a CHARM!
Loved this cool down - feeling really stretched out and super chilled. Thank you!
You're so welcome!

This has been the post-run cool down that finally helped me increase mileage without hurting myself. I've been using it for 4 months now and it's really helped with shin splint issues.
Also do you know what the music is? It's really good for a cooldown, it'd be lovely to have access when I'm out of cell service
Use this every week. You’re awesome! And gorgeous background!
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you
Love this cool down and stretch.
Great cooldown after a run. Gets me ready to go for my next run in a jiffy. Thanks holly, much appreciated!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Coach Holly. Just wanted to say huge thanks for your videos. I’d been having knee and ankle problems, probably because I wasn’t warming up/down properly. I started using your videos religiously and feel so much better. My performance has improved as well as my issues. Thank you! X
Hey Diana! I'm super happy to read all this. Glad you've made so much progress. More videos are always in the works :) - Holly

O love to run (it is a slight obsession) but I could never find a follow that worked till now! Thank you.
That felt amazing!! Thank you so much!!😊

Thanks for this!
Thank you for your advice. You're a really good instructor :)
I appreciate that!
Great video, so helpful!!
The pidgeon stretch is one of my favourite positions. I'll lay flat out across my leg. Arms outstretched in front of me. I find it, I know this sounds weird, a really relaxing pose. But yes, fantastic cool down Holly
Cool cooldown stretches😉👌👍

Great vid. Nice view of the bridge 👍
Thanks!
The Run Experience Watching Sneakers I know there is 5 bridges in the Bay Area but not sure which is which. If you could say please 🤓
Great video, really enjoyed my warm down this time..👍
Thanks for another great run!
I have some knee pain that is really hindering my stride, any tips?..
Very informative!! Love your channel.
