Oh cool! In a such long time I don’t hear about His Dark Materials! I started the first book when I was like 12, in my country was rated as a young teen book, and then the other two books were published as YA 😂 I think it is an amazing book, I met a lot of people who read it as adults and still enjoyed it loads as they see it with a completely different perspective as a 12 yo sees the world! Can be controversial, especially when, like in my case, grow up in a very religious country. I hope you enjoy them! 😊 Btw I live the mystical song you have at the end of your videos now 😊
Thank you so much for sharing, my partner really liked it as well, so i'm curious to start it ^^ I think I'm going to keep this song, I changed it up a bit, but for now it's my favorite
I love Name of the Wind, and I've read it several times. I try to pretend there is no third book so I'm not upset about not having it yet. Thanks for the rec on the Village Library Demon Hunting book, looks like a fun read for November.
My partner has read the two Name of the wind books so far, and he loves them but is so frustrated about book 3 just not being released that he kind of carried that on to me I think. I hope you'll have a wonderful November!
I read Camilla in October too. Wasn’t quite what I expected given what I’d heard but can see how it could have influenced Bram Stoker. Love the edition you got - it’s gorgeous! I read the ebook but would like to pick up a physical copy at some point.
For my classics I indeed love having a pretty edition, there's a lot of edition of Carmilla out there, I'm sure you'll get your hands on one ^^ I did feel the books was not entirely what I expected, but more on that in my October reads (I read it end of October)
Such a great haul. I really need to visit de Standaard in Gent. I read the His Dark Materials trilogy back in teacher training college as part of the books I had to read for my dissertation and I quite enjoyed them. I'm very curious to hear your thoughts on House of Earth and Blood 😅 I bought The Name of the Wind secondhand years ago, but I'm also very hesitant to pick it up. I got A Reign of Rose (third book in the Sacred Stones trilogy) and Apples Dipped in Gold in October.
Standaard Gent Kouter is the biggest/best. I can highly recommend except for the YA fantasy and adult fantasy being mixed as well as English and Dutch being mixed. I feel they especially try and sell special editions (I get it tho). Great reads for October! I hope you'll have amazing reads in November too
About Patrick Rothfuss, give him a try, its so worth it, even though a lot of people have an opinion about whatever they think they know. That doesn't make him not worth or a bad author, i loved every page of " the name of the wind" and i have my chunky "the wise man's fear" on my tbr for far too long cus i was hoping "Doors of stone" would be published this year... Sniff give it a try 🙏
I really want to read them! I've even debated maybe reading something else first by him but I don't know... Hopefully very soon the final instalment so we can read it!
Wow I have that His Dark Materials book and I paid more than $30 for. You got a good deal.
Flea markets are the best to get books for cheap, it's my first time having such a good deal on second hand books

I just read Legends & Lattes - very good, but no fangs.
Indeed, super enjoyable, but no fangs (yet? who knows!)

Welcome!
I really love your selection of books! Just wondering would you be open to read and review my newly published vampire book?
Could you send me the info about it to my email? contact@cathyjanssens.com
