I am super curious about The Ninth House! Can’t wait for your review in the future. I got myself pretty much a mountain of books 📚 for fall/halloween reading that I will probably have still to finish in the next year 😂 Currently reading Frankenstein and about to start The Ex Hex. Next I want to get through at least (wishful thinking coming up): Carmilla, A Dowry of Blood, A Sorceress Comes to Call (the latest T. Kingfisher! 😻), An Education in Malice and Slewfoot (such a GORGEOUS book with amazing illustrations). Maybe I will manage to read at least three of them before Halloween 🥹 And there’s more 😳 but those are the ones I really want to read next 😅
Your love of Empire of the Vampire has made me want to read it so bad. I totally agree with you on The Coven which is a shame because it’s so pretty.🥀 That copy of Gardens of the Moon is gorgeous!! I say read that one first just so I can hear your review on it and I can justify buying myself a copy 😏
That's a great haul! Surprisingly, I didn't get any books in September (I cancelled my FL Romantasy sub and skipped the Illumicrate book only sub). I've tried to read A Deadly Education twice now and I DNFd it both times 🥴 Hope you have better luck with it.
@@CathysEnchantedReads I'm not sure if I'll be keeping my Illumicrate sub either, maybe I'll just skip for the rest of the year and see what next year brings. But on the other hand there is this thing called FOMO 😅😅
Wow, a lot of good books! I would be quite overwhelmed to choose my next one, with so many other really good books you have in waiting! And here is what I was waiting for the coven and the cursed 😂 i started reading less than a year ago and it was the worst book so far. It looks badly written (but I'm not an English speaker to judge that well 😂), the story could have potential but it was just so focused on the smut, that the story was so lost... Well 😂 I have the same editions you have 😂😂 I am going to definitely sell mine 😂😂 Oh, and I have the Ninth House to read for so long, I need to start it, but I always lost myself on gothic themes, vampires and witches and I never get to that one 😂🤦♀️
Ok was not expecting a Sleep Token mention 😩 I was just listening to them today lol. I unfortunately read The Night Hunt this year though and personally wasn’t a fan. I didn’t hate it but it was frustrating how she uses so many aspects of Greek mythology and then just changes things in such ridiculous ways and makes it super boring. The gods in this book each have a river that they protect and it was like they just sit by their rivers for eternity, it didn’t seem like they ever do anything. I also kept comparing certain figures (the Pythia and Charon) and gods to people I met in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey lol. As a big Greek mythology enthusiast, I wasn’t impressed at all. There’s one god that’s so obviously based on Hades, but he wasn’t nearly as epic as his portrayal in the game. For as much as I didn’t hate it, my review sure was long 😅 and I’m holding back on saying a lot about the characters, romance, world building since I don’t wanna impact your reading experience with my negative opinions of the book. But I recommend checking out the American cover, it’s really pretty (I just wish the book hadn’t been so… blah, but hopefully it’ll work out better for you 🩷)
I'm seeing them in Belgium in november and I'm so excited for it 🖤 Shame you didn't love the book, not sure when I'll get to it, but I'll update you once I have. Thank you so much for your comment 🖤
@@CathysEnchantedReads omg that’s so cool 😭 the pictures I’ve seen on instagram from their shows look so sick lol I’m very excited and curious what you’ll think of it. Whenever I don’t like something, I always wanna know what others think, if they had the same issues or why they liked something about it that I didn’t, but nobody else I watch has talked about it
I really enjoyed both 'Ninth House' and 'A Deadly Education'.
Thank you for sharing 🖤

I make monthly reading wrap ups with the books I read, September one is a big one 😊

I'll try to bump it up on my TBR: so many books, so little time...

I skipped my FL as well and am considering cancelling it entirely... I just keep buying second hand books a lot 😅

I would love Vessel from ST to take me on a dreamy adventure too
I know right 😅 maybe there should be books based on the songs/sleep...
@@CathysEnchantedReads OMG YES!!! I would sell my soul for those books

Yeah the coven/the cursed was not what I expected... On to better books 😂
I love a good haul 😍
I do to, all the books 🖤 my wallet likes it a bit less 😅
Great haul 📚☕🍂🍁🎃🦇👻💀
Thank you! I maybe went a tiny bit overboard... whoops!

Ik ben mijn boekenkasten aan het veranderen en er liggen weer stapels klaar voor door te verkopen 😬
Wel... You know where to find me 😂 ik ga binnenkort ook eens door de mijne gaan
