Fantastic video!! Best on the topic about Isso and Isto that I've ever seen. That last point that isso and isto can't be followed by a noun is gold (did not know that). The interesting thing is I've had a lot of exposure to Portuguese and yeah -- some things just don't sound right anymore -- like you said "isso livro" -- just doesn't sound right. I think because I've heard esse livro or este livro used all the time and never hear isso livrobeing used because it is wrong. Interesting how you kind of learn grammar in a language just by continual repetition of hearing what is right -- and not hearing what is wrong.
Thanks again for the amazing content!! You are my far the favorite Portuguese language teacher. Muitisimo obrigado!!

The best way to learn grammar, as you well pointed out, is through continual exposure and repetition; by the way, thanks for the kind words and trust in my work. That means a lot to me. 😊

Obrigado Professora Beah, Thanks for clarifying and for me to review these two 'demonstrative pronouns:
What is the Difference Between 'Este' and 'Isto' in Brazilian Portuguese?
The difference between 'Este' and 'Isto' in Brazilian Portuguese lies in their usage as demonstrative pronouns.
    'Este':
'Este' is used to refer to a specific object, person, or idea that is close to the speaker.
It agrees in gender and number with the noun it is modifying.
    Examples:
"Este livro é meu." (This book is mine.) - Referring to a specific book close to the speaker.
"Estes sapatos são caros." (These shoes are expensive.) - Referring to specific shoes close to the speaker.
    'Isto':
'Isto' is used more broadly to refer to something abstract or an idea.
It doesn't agree in gender or number because it is neutral.
    Examples:
"Isto é interessante." (This is interesting.) - Referring to an abstract concept or situation.
"Não entendo isto." (I don't understand this.) - Referring to an idea or concept without specifying.
In summary, 'Este' is more specific and refers to tangible things close to the speaker, while 'Isto' is more general and refers to abstract concepts or ideas.

For my English speakers trying to learn Portuguese:
What helped me memorize these differences is simply when to add the “T”. Esta/Estas | Este/Estes
If you add the “T” it becomes This/Those.
So Esse is the masculine word for“That” but if you add the “T” and make it “Este” it becomes the masculine word for “This”

In Brazilian Portuguese, there are different ways to pronounce the *de, di, te, ti* sequences when they are found in unstressed syllables. Below are a few video suggestions for you: one video is on the different sounds of the letter *T,* another one is on the sounds *D* has in Brazilian Portuguese, and, finally, a video on the letter *E.* 😉

Yes, like Bea said in colloquial speech -- many native speakers don't follow grammar perfectly. I read somewhere that this "error" is so common that "este" is not used that much, esse is used much more frequently. Not sure if that is true -- but saw that somewhere. Recommend Bea's excellent video that she suggested.
