Ólafur Kári Irrelevant. It’s the style/sound and they’re completely different. Comparable to some I guess, but not the same at all. Every great guitarist has a very unique sound that distinguishes them from everyone else. Clapton, Zappa, Robin Trower, Jimmy Page etc. It has nothing to do with covers or someone else playing the same song. It still sounds completely different
@@weenfain2321 i agree. Hendrix had a fantastic understanding and respect for "The Blues", but as everything else he really took his own take on it! I loved it, but "real blues" was never Hendrix. GCJ is more of a Delta Blues kinda guy and Jimi Hendrix Was a psychedelic blues/funk/rock'n'roll kinda type.....with his "Jimi spice" all over it :-)
@@weenfain2321 Never read such bullshit, Hendrix was a phenomenal bluesman, his blues record speaks for itself. Not only has he better licks and rhythm than gary but on top of that was he a better songwriter.
@JohnLemon you obviously read none of the replies or cared to and I’d almost bet money you don’t even know who Robin trower is or care to know. Get outta here. Hendrix had an amazing understanding of the blues he was NOT a blues musician.
I would sell my soul to Old Scratch at the crossroads, not to play the blues like a master, but to get Gary, Jack White, and Dan Auerbach up on a trifecta blues jam together with the ghost of Skip James.
EXCELENTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! DESDE ARGENTINA !!!!!!!
Second favorite artist by like a hair lol The Black Keys are my fav but he's way better at soloing...love Dan Aurerbach but damn!🥰Ok so my mount Rushmore 1. THE Black Keys 2. Gary Clark JR 3. Tyler Childers 4. Reignwolf
This is an awesome cover. Gary is a great guitar player. I saw him in concert before covid hit and he was fucking amazing. But please stop comparing him to Hendrix. Jimi was a one of a kind. Nobody plays like him and nobody ever will.
different song different riff and both hendrix covers. this is not a gary clark jr original however they are similar riffs so i can see where the mistake can be made for untrained ears.
@@Tasoro666 Same name didn't change name or lyrics except put his own style of instrumentals on it. This version is better you aren't missing anything. Better than Hendrix version as well. Plenty of covers who do it better, but all of that is just a personal preference.
Enough !!!, it's stupid to compare gary clark Jr. with Jimi Hendrix, His sound and singing are very original, hendrix was an extraordinary artist, are two very different artists, all the time with this stupidity to compare people, that it sucks, who can not hear or feel the difference, is that knows nothing of music
can't believe I just now found this guy.. and I'm from Texas... I feel ashamed! This guy is the real deal...
The blues is in good hands, thanks God!
Voice smooth as silk, strings wicked as devil's tongue. Good job, Mr. Clark!

I agree!
You forgot Stevie Ray Vaughan
Touche, good sir.
I'd swap Auerbach with Brittany Howard for a real blues jam
You would probably need some divine intervention as well to get Auerbach and Jack White on the same stage together.
amazing spot my friend. success always for my friend 👍
Very North Mississippi Hill Country. I like my blues like that.
very high talented you are gary keep it up love your music.
this guy is going to be the next thing and Blues we've got a void filled that was left by BB King with this man
Clapton is still out there.
Very nice version of this classic.
This is so good to jam on guitar to..

Love his Jimmy Hendrix kinda style.

Does anyone hear "Hear my train a comin" here?
yes!! haha ... this guy reminds me of Jimi ...
different song different riff and both hendrix covers. this is not a gary clark jr original however they are similar riffs so i can see where the mistake can be made for untrained ears.
More like, "Hear my Jimi a-comin'"! ;)
yes
Nice man!
I get serious Hendrix-vibes from this... Damn it's so f#%&& good!!!
Sounds a lot like Jimi Hendrix! Love it !
Agreed.
...SO ... MY GOD!!!
El blues del Pez gato 🐱 🐟 👌🏻
Damn, that's hot!
this is what happens when jimi collides with srv
They could both pick circles around gcj. Reminds me more of dan Auerbach just more corporate sounding
I like Gray's music
12 People meant to hit the like button.
raw & good
Killer!!!
Baaaaari sarıl boynuma
I could smell that Gibson through my headphones.

I didnt sell mine and learned this and numb in 1 night not the solos yet but i can jam soul in tact.
öpeeeydim dudağından
wowwwwwwwyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
play it at 1.25x the normal speed, sounds pretty damn good that way too
I hear some Muddy Waters influences! I thought it was one of his songs!
Its a muddy water OG song fyi
Jimi's league for sure
nobody!
Awesome. I sub'd the channel.cheers
man, this song is still awesome at 1.50 speed
Can't believe he gets that sound from a fucking Epiphone!
Dude - It's a '66 Epiphone Casino like John Lennon played. Not some mass produced Chinese knock-off.
John X Oh, before Gibson bought Epi and sold it to Chinaland. That explains it
This bitch. I just fell in love.
yeahhh
GRAY CLARK

❤️
Need me some crayfish and some corn water.
I do hope everybody knows this is a muddy waters cover, he just changed the name.
whats the name of the original?
It's lightning
Hendrix did this in the 60's. Not as good though.

*Turn audio up. Or use a stereo.
Just a typical night on 6th street!
grate
Manti Te'o's theme song.
Hear my train a comin done black keys style
Parece Jimi Hendrix com seu vodoo child.
Ik krijg een black keys gevoel hierbij
This song is better played faster like how Jimmy Burns plays it.
Sounds like Voodoo Child.
Are none of you going to mention that this is a muddy waters song

Gary's great just shy of JIMI...
Gary is awesome. A number of great bluesmen have covered Catfish Blues; John Lee Hooker to name one. Gary reminds me of Gary.
everybody is influenced by those they listen to.I'm glad there are youngsters keeping the music alive..
Doesn't deserve this many likes cause you failed miserably at the lyrics in the description.
