Kyle you need to go to a army surplus store and but a k- bar.
It would help with digging the frozen stuff.

I found one similar to the one shown in the picture. The lobes on the side are where the hafting wint to and they sharpened it down to a fire starter. I know this because it was found with a small course sandstone fire starter rock.

Great finds on the agates and petrified wood my friend!! Here in MISSISSIPPI yes we hunt the points, but also the pretty rocks, fossils, petrified wood, old glass and such. Phenomenal and how I do know, rewarding find on everything....especially the archaic drill. Kudos brother....keep up the good work!

I read about how to make an industrial tumbler out of a rear axle of a big semi truck with the rims and tires in place. You want to cut an opening in the highest part of the rim to load rocks. The article said a cover is not needed but I always thought if I was going to do one I would have a hinged door sealed with inner tube rubber. The idea is to set up a motor geared down so the tires rotates slowly and all the rocks stay in the lowest part of the tire at all times tumbling over each other. Each tire can hold about 100 lbs of rocks and you have 4 tires going at all times each one with a different grit. Always use same tire for the same grit. You rotate the rocks once a week and you have a 100 lbs of polished tumbled stones each week. I have been wondering if you could use quartz sand as grit for the first stage to do the rough rounding off? I am posting this on all videos about rock hounding to spread the idea, if this is you channel and you do not like that let me know.

not a problem man, I really enjoy what you do, and I was an archaeology student in college in New Mexico, but my interest really started as a young boy finding points in plowed fields. My interest in this subject has never waned. I am assuming you are hunting the Missouri river, I live in Kansas City now, and there are really not any opportunities around here, as the river is heavily dammed around here, so there are no gravel bars. I will do my best to help you identify points that you are unsure of in the future
