What you should have done during the TH-cam "live release" Starboard is have a team rider chatting up the board, available to answer questions live, and showing the actual range instead of replaying the same exact video of the ultrakode that is on the website. Opportunity missed.

To answer your other question concerning upwind performance we are waiting for the answer from our designer and will get back to you as soon as possible.

I guys I love my UK 80 I use it from Manawa reef to Oneye reef and also in European conditions is a real magic board. My question is the new model will perform in Oneye reef (side off), and is better 78 or 82 litres?
Hi Calimero, great to hear you love the board. Yes, the new UltraKodes are our dedicated high performance wave boards, Oneye will be a treat with them. For gusty offshore winds its often better to have a little bigger rather then a little smaller board, especially when you have to pump yourself into the wave, but which size you choose depends a lot on your weight. If you are around 80 kg we would recommend the 82l.
How viable is the 100l UltraKode for real world side-onshore conditions as in Florida given the "egg shape"? I am concerned that the upwind performance will be poor despite the wider tail due to the length, outline, and increased rocker. The regular Kode seems more appropriate but sizing does not work for my quiver.
Hello Sav Saviano here is Jaegers comments about the board. I hope it answers your question:
“The 2021 Ultrakode is, in my opinion, the best yet. I have never been so comfortable riding a production board in all conditions. I’ve used the 2021 Ultrakode in everything from bolt onshore to big cross-off, it covers everything. What stands out to me this year is the speed - this board is fast! Whether it is the top-end speed for jumping or transitioning through turns, it has gone up another gear from the 2020 model.
This board was developed as a combination of the 2020 model and my favourite down the line board which I used in the Red Bull Storm Chase. The swallow tail really helps bite into the face of the wave while the outline makes it easier to hold my line. I wanted something that was forgiving and fast in onshore conditions, yet when conditions got really good I wanted a board that allowed me to sail aggressively, top-to-bottom with complete confidence. This shape has the best of both worlds.”

I read that blurb previously and am interested in a more technical answer. What attributes of this board contribute to upwind ability given the reduced length, and increased rocker compared to last year which are detractors to that performance? I assume the wider tail relative to the width is the controlling factor. How does the rail shape, and rocker near the straps for the 100 liter compare to the 2019 Ultrakodes (e.g. 93 liter) which are the boards in my quiver? I like my 2019 ultrakodes and in Florida we are always fighting current with side onshore wind and waves. Again, I do understand the Kode would be more appropriate.
@@mds4244 Hi Sav ou Ultrakode Designer Albert Pijoan just got back to us on your question: Here is his answer, I hope it helps answer his questions
" The UK has been designed to outstand essentially on the Side to On Shore conditions.
The additional center line thickness contributes to an earlier planning and lifting the sail trims it more back which helps to keep sailing upwind with less effort.
The bottom line is classic v flat to double concave V that make it fast and comfortable through the chop which contribute of keeping the boards planning easier even in tricky conditions.
The shallow tail helped to make it more agile and reactive while wave riding. The length is also one contributing element on this.
The width and new outline supports the speed running the wave. Also it hold the trimming of the sailor, while the sail leans more back the position of the sailor can stand more up right.
Compared to the 93l. from last year the rails are thinner as the volume concentrates on the center line and fades to the rails to avoid having them being too chunky. Maybe someone would say that then the board is more unstable once you are not planning because that lack of volume consistency side to side but is not at that moment that we aim to make the board perform. "
