I love your streams Vince. Could you please increase the overall volume of the streams? They're just faint enough to barely be heard with the volume turned up 100%. Love your work. Big fan.
Thanks a lot for doing this. Really enjoyed it and it hyped me up so much I’m not even sure I’ll play matched play for a while 😂. And thanks to the guests who were amazing
Great discussion and walkthrough of the campaign mode and the new book. I'm relatively new to AoS (being mostly a skirmish player), and I have to say that Spearhead and Path to Glory are by far the most interesting ways of playing the game to me. PtG in particular speaks to the Mordheim and Necromunda player in me.
I’ve played a little ptg back in 2nd. It was fun but immensely community dependent. It can be easy to abuse and has no win scenarios but still can be fun with the right attitude
thank you for doing this show! this book is the hook that has finally gotten me interested in aos 4 again because of my general fatigue with the new edition's focus and format focused on matchplay and stripping things down. from what you have described, they have greatly overhauled the ptg system from the kind of laughable core version to something that you can sink your teeth into. having a definitive path towards a climatic end is a chef's kiss.
47:26 my only counter to this part is a lot of the people I know who go to tournaments don’t really care how many they win anyway. So the 99 he’s referring to don’t exist. Most just want a weekend of Warhammer
Vince, would you say this is a good entry point into Big(ger) Hammer for somebody who started in Warcry, has really enjoyed Spearhead, and who is interested in the full game but whose interest is shattered by everything they’re hearing about manifestations and how outsized a role they play in the game? Great show, love the channel! Excellent work on that Athena and well done for working through the breaks. An idea for a hobby cheating video: how to repair breaks in fragile or finicky parts of models.
This is the first time I‘ve been interested in AoS since the Derpbringer Crusade books (and the end of 3. Edition’s rules) destroyed my interest utterly.
Sorry if I missed it during the stream, would you say this better suited for a group or a one-on-one scenario? Seems like it could work in either case.
Seems so short sighted of GW to make faction terrain something you have to buy, this is hugely detrimental on Skaven and Sylvaneth. Only way to balance that is to buy your factions battle traits before you can use them as well.
Ok I found the points updated, have they released a FAQ/Errata matching up the newest rules updates with the “old” rules that got copy pasted into the book?
This is my before reaction (47:59 in), I have not looked at Path to Glory in 4e yet because the PtG in 3e was just disappointing, the emergent storytelling was not there and the between matches things quickly got stale. Orcs ran off to pee on a shrine, and that's what they'll do today again. The things impacting gameplay were mostly just a negative experience, like I can either go full strength or I can just dump them and get a new identical full strength unit. Things will of course change with the right group, but there was not enough support there to help people who maybe aren't used to 'creating' to create. There were also too few of the, eh, battle setups and it didn't take long before we had to make our own to get some variation. Toss up some stuff on that Warhammer Community instead of that flipping meta watch for a change. Give me land-sharks eating units who run too much , random magic artillery or something. It mostly felt like something I should do while buying more models and then I would graduate into matched play. In reality things are more nuanced, but there is a character limited in comments and also I feel better now after venting. Carry on. :D
did you play with the seasons of war: thondia book? it added a lot of variety. the 3rd ed ptg was not perfect but my group had fun with it. i played ogor mawtribes but wound up leaning into ale-guzzlers because i managed to form an alliance with them and my ale-guzzler performed so well in its first match that it gained a trait
@ No we did not, once we were done with trying to get it to work the interest died out. Also I think they’re wasting space and time with the things to allow me to recreate battles. But no, never looked in the book itself.
My main issue with 3rd edition's PTG is balance. It's highly steered to powerful monsters and named heroes over your normal rank-and-file. I personally feel that the standard matched play feels more clunky/complicated to RC PTG.
I hit the like button and got D3 glory points at the end of the battle
Great episode and guests! Really enjoyed the insight into Path to Glory
I love your streams Vince. Could you please increase the overall volume of the streams? They're just faint enough to barely be heard with the volume turned up 100%. Love your work. Big fan.
The rumour engine is a sisters flying baby. Flying elves would have more elegant feathered wings
Made my morning to see Paul and Will on the show!
Thanks a lot for doing this. Really enjoyed it and it hyped me up so much I’m not even sure I’ll play matched play for a while 😂.
And thanks to the guests who were amazing
Love the Path to Glory content! And love the positivity from you, Vince!
I genuinely believe that this is the best way to play AoS
I remember the last path to glory you had with them on. Great to see you guys back!
So hyped for this book! I'm going to work really hard to make time for games of AoS because of it.
Loved this. More interested in trying AOS than ever.
Great episode. PtG sounds like great fun.
Nearing the end of an escalation league at FLGS ... This sounds great. Will try to get everyone to switch over to this!
Thanks for the great review!

Very cool review of the book. I can't wait to read it.
It's so good!
Well now when I am more informed the Path to Glory sounds better, I’d almost be curious to try.

Glad I could help you out!
Weapons that you lose on a random roll? Everybody is going to love those!
Those wings look like something 40k-ish, with their winged brodudes symbols
47:26 my only counter to this part is a lot of the people I know who go to tournaments don’t really care how many they win anyway. So the 99 he’s referring to don’t exist. Most just want a weekend of Warhammer
Screaming metroplex at my scream lol
Yes, I am sad I couldn't remember that! I even had that toy.
It turns out you can only store the memory of so many transformer names before you slip up on one. Naturally it happens while love streaming.
Love the videos I been watching

I think it would for sure.
It’s a great system, but needs consistent love.
What an epic lineup for a WHW 🙌 thanks as always for the content
I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
The rumor engine is 100% ravenwing bikers (related) for 40k.
Probly the only book I'll buy this edition XD
honestly they could just have skipped the battletome and released this first
I was listening to this while painting what was the name of the AoS army builder? is it a webpage or an app?
Webpage - AoS List Builder.
This is the first time I‘ve been interested in AoS since the Derpbringer Crusade books (and the end of 3. Edition’s rules) destroyed my interest utterly.
Hey vince! What was the aos list spp you use? I was painting when you mentioned it 😅
AOS List Bot
@VinceVenturella thanks a ton!
That wing is for new Raven Wing bikers, possibly black knights. That's my guess
Sorry if I missed it during the stream, would you say this better suited for a group or a one-on-one scenario? Seems like it could work in either case.
I think either honestly. THough the scenarios sort of assume either 2 or 4 players.
Seems so short sighted of GW to make faction terrain something you have to buy, this is hugely detrimental on Skaven and Sylvaneth. Only way to balance that is to buy your factions battle traits before you can use them as well.
Vince I’m having a hard time finding the newest FAQ/Errata for the IronJawz, any help?
Ok I found the points updated, have they released a FAQ/Errata matching up the newest rules updates with the “old” rules that got copy pasted into the book?
I thought that was in there, but they will, I think the existing one, if still in the FAQ, still works on the new book.
What was that list building app again, please

@@VinceVenturella many thanks 🙏🏻
Comparing the cover of the old path to glory book to the new STD battle tome cover is deeply depressing
Kragnos was the worst thing to happen to AoS. I hope the fan fiction writes him out of existence!
My main issue with 3rd edition's PTG is balance. It's highly steered to powerful monsters and named heroes over your normal rank-and-file.

yeah, for our ptg 3e games we banned unique characters and units.
Path to glory has more rules than the „normal games“ = longer games, pass.
Well, keep in mind they are smaller forces, and that does make the games faster.
Just signed up for Milarki, gonna pick this book up at the FLGS, been narrative pilled. Chestnut gang rise
