Former aquarium employee and scuba diver here - the board he writes on is basically plastic that you can use a pencil with and it works fine underwater. You’d have that with you in case you needed to communicate with your dive buddy (that should have been with Liam because you should NEVER dive alone!! Very unsafe 🙏🏻) Second point is he would probably have been fired for pulling her into the tank 🙃
Am I correct in assuming that it would def be a contamination issue because Ronnie was in there in her bare ass feet? Even in 2010 I was like "there's no way he isn't fired after this" lmao
I *just* realized how much I've missed the female protagonist falling compilation, and that's not even a joke. It's like a little digital time capsule of all the fun times we had together. 😊
My kid walked in while I was watching the compilation once. I was laughing so hard, there were tears. He was so confused which just made me laugh harder. Good times.
So in the book, the reason he left is because the mom cheated on him and he never told the kids 'cause he wanted to protect their image of their mom. And it's actually a huge fight between him and ronnie later in the story.
I always hate the whole "protecting the image of -parent-" trope. Like, no, this is who your mother/father is, any child DESERVES to know that, it's what the mum wanted the kid to know, otherwise they wouldn't have done it in the first place. Stop treating adults like children, lmao.
@@Spicy_Spores Maybe it's because you don't have a child but a parent does that not because the child doesn't deserve to know the truth, but because every child should be able to form their own opinion about their parent for themselves without one putting ideas into their head. Besides, it's HIGHLY inappropriate to involve children into adult affairs. Children shouldn't be told everything, that's why they shouldn't have unvetted access to the internet. Maybe with time, open up and talk about it more or let the other parent tell the children. Children just deserve to have both parents in their lives without one trying to manipulate them into hating the other and that would be the biggest reason why a parent would mention such a thing.
As a child, I thought Ronnie was valid for being angry at Will for taking other girls to the aquarium before he met her 💀 but like.. Clearly it's a very important part of his life volunteering there. Why wouldn't he take other people there? 😂 It's a cool way to get to know him and what's important to him
Agreed. It's even sillier when you take the film logic to its end point. What's he supposed to do after he's taken his previous dates to all the fun things to do in town and there's nothing new left to do? Is he supposed to move?

Hi Jaime! I'm a scuba diver and you can get something called a dive slate. It's basically a piece of white plastic like the one it shows him holding and usually has a pencil or some kind of stylus attached to it so you can communicate underwater, take notes or even draw if you want to. They're pretty neat.
Thank you Jamie. I just buried my 15 year old dog and am devastated. Have been crying non stop for hours. I'm still the saddest I have ever felt, but this video helped me laugh a bit and truly feel a tad better. The video and the can of wine I am drinking, together. Thank you
I was literally here looking for something to watch before bed and thought. "Man I wish Jamie would upload something." Refreshed my feed and saw the new vid. I was way too happy.
Nichols Sparks openly shared that he wrote the part of Ronnie in his book to be played by Miley Cyrus. What’s terrifying is she was a teen and the male characters in the book referred to Ronnie in the words “tight little body” multiple times.
@@Hey_AJ "so I didn't get Miley as her": I get what you mean. I always thought that Ronnie wasn't truely a punk, but that it was just a representation of her rebellion against and rejection of her father. Still, I think Miley, Liam and the rest of the cast did the best that they could with the script they were given and the instructions they got from directors, producers, camera people, and everyone else behind the scenes.
This was filmed in my hometown when I was like 13 or 14. Me and my friends were OBSESSED with the fact that Miley was in town and we went to some of the filming locations in hopes to see her. It was literally the talk of the town.
OMG! I laughed out loud, so hard, when you showed the scene where Greg Kinnear slowly walks out of the room after he stopped composing his song because his hands hurt. My son and husband were in another room and were wondering what was wrong with me! 😂😂😂 Love your take on movies! Thanks for giving me a good laugh!!!
i read the book in 6th grade before the movie came out, and i can confirm the book had just as much turtles-if not more-than the movie. and because of this, it has been a dream of mine to help guide baby turtles to the ocean ever since 😂
I LOVE IT when people walk out of rooms without concluding or giving a feeling of closure to a conversation. That Greg Kinnear walkout sequence HAD ME.
Fun fact : I don’t ever watch sponsor ads by the content it creator… until you. Jaime. You literally make everything watchable and enjoyable which are in fact mutually exclusive. So thank you.
I totally agree with that reviewer about Nicholas Sparks! My sister once asked me if I had seen some Nicholas Sparks movie or another. I said no, but I had seen X. Without missing a beat she said, “yeah, same thing.”
Exactly! When she mentioned not understanding why this movie made the money it did I was immediately transported back to the CHOKEHOLD the Nicholas Sparks franchise had on North American females for a very specific period of time. Make the Sparks novels into movies and they will come.
This move brings back so many memories. My mom and I drove to Tybee island where it was filmed. We lived an hour and a half away! And we got to see her and say hey. She was filming but she was on break walking to a makeup tent or something. She was very sweet to everyone. :)

On the topic of dad's knowing nothing about their kids: towards the end of my senior year in high school, I went into the psych ward for a couple months. Near graduation, my dad showed up to the high school DEMANDING my school record and a copy of my diploma. I was at the hospital, so they couldn't call me to the office to verify identity. The admin literally had to say "SIR WE HAVE NO IDEA WHO YOU ARE. You can't just walk in her demanding stuff, we have no proof that you're her dad." And that's because in the 4 years I had been at that school, my dad had never once called or appeared at my school for any reason whatsoever. Gave my mum and me a hearty laugh at the wild audacity.
@hollyk7052 isn't it fun being part of the deadbeat dad club? my dad didn't even show up when I went to urgent care for anaphylaxis when i was like 10. I needed 2 shots of adrenaline to keep my lungs open. My mum called him a few times. I can laugh about these things now that I'm older.
Y’all’s trauma is cute. I met my dad for the first time since I was 1 (he had an affair WHILE my mom was pregnant with me), when I was 8. No one thought to mention that he was married and had a son, so I was like “who dees people?” I thought his wife was the maid- and said as such. She did not like me. Second time I saw him I was 12 (he lived two houses down from my best friend and she wanted to see him, so I rang the bell. Awkward.) Never saw him again. He gave me r200 for some of my birthdays; found out years later my mom gave me that money not him. Also he forgot my birthday most years even though our birthdays are on the SAME DAY. He dead now. P.s I’m joking about calling other trauma “cute” trauma is not comparable. Also I’m not that traumatized. Maybe
@katherinekennedy2871 that's a pretty good deadbeat dad story, pretty high on the list for "wtf is wrong with him" stories. For sure trauma is not comparable, so I knew you weren't being rude, no worries. I'm sure a lot of us could write really good books filled with stories, not even just about dads lol. Why are they so bad with birthdays? Haha I thought I got a birthday card in the mail when I turned 28 or so, Instead it was a Funeral pamphlet for his brother that I met once when I was about 6 who probably didnt even remember my name (for reference, I have 42 1st cousins on my dad's side). I wasn't even invited to the funeral, but sure - send me a pamphlet lolol.
This movie had a chokehold on me as a teen because I was obsessed with Liam Hemsworth and now watching it as an adult I am like, "ughhh really?" and the chemistry between them both is underwhelming ahahha
Omg this video made me laugh so much that I started crying because I just wish I had someone to laugh with who doesn’t take themselves too seriously and is so unapologetically themselves and authentic... but I mainly cried because it was just so nice to laugh again. Been going through some rough shit, as everyone does.. but you’re the only one that can pull me out of it for a little while and for that I’m so grateful. Now how’s that for cheesy corn. Thanks Jamie.
To me,the saddest thing about this is that the mom(Kelly Preston) died of cancer a couple years ago. Hearing her talk about the effects of the cancer on Greg Kinnear's character hit me in the feels😪 I just lost my grandmother (basically my mother since 6 months old) to cancer in October so anything regarding cancer definitely gets me going💔. But thank you Jaime for turning the sadness around with your humor..you make me laugh even on my worst days

To me the fact that Kristen and Robert fell in love on set was so cool to me but then I heard Kristen cheated on him and I was like... Makes sense, fucking Bella was playing with two dudes for the duration of the whole saga
You should definitely read the book really good
@@ashleyvanzanden1184have you read them as an adult? Like, MAYBE the first one, but the second one? The teen angst is at like a 100, out of 10. Even as teenager I didn’t make it to the third. Which by all accounts might be why I can still do math, lack of brain damage.
Although like what you like. I read some real crap. Love me a shit book, any day of the week.
@@kmhkennedy nope just book one
@@ashleyvanzanden1184 loL. Book one is… manageable. I like The Host. Like, legitimately 😅
I must read it as an adult, see how I feel now. It’s somewhere on my shelves… 😂
My Dad died suddenly 11 years ago and today is his birthday. Maybe I should watch this another day...
Hugs 🤗
Yeah my dad died of cancer 5 years ago and I had to detach myself a little while I watched this 😂🤦🏼♀️ I’ve seen this movie I just forgot the dad died. I just focused on Miley’s goofy facial expressions the whole time and the fact that whole cancer montage is so far from reality it didn’t really make me emotional.
Omg the GI Joe ‘last one there’s a p**is pump’ reference is too much. 😂😂😂😂😂
I had to play that part again to make sure I heard it correctly! 😂😂 so funny!!
fr tho the scene of the little brother breaking down while trying to finish the stained glass piece makes me cry like a baby
The editing on this one is top notch 😅 From the flirting noises, the gag clip at "you're not like other girls 🤢 and the 🎹 splicing cuts I almost died 😂😭
Hi Jaime! I'm a scuba diver and you can get something called a dive slate. It's basically a piece of white plastic like the one it shows him holding and usually has a pencil or some kind of stylus attached to it so you can communicate underwater, take notes or even draw if you want to. They're pretty neat.
I literally 💀 in the silent scene on the beach with the doofy sounds. So friggin good
Thank you Jamie. I just buried my 15 year old dog and am devastated. Have been crying non stop for hours. I'm still the saddest I have ever felt, but this video helped me laugh a bit and truly feel a tad better. The video and the can of wine I am drinking, together. Thank you
I'm so sorry. I'm only glad that your dog was so loved.
I was truly haunted for a moment at the piano scene until I noticed it was an edit 😂😭
I was literally here looking for something to watch before bed and thought. "Man I wish Jamie would upload something." Refreshed my feed and saw the new vid. I was way too happy.
“I don’t work there, I volunteer there” is the best flex lol
"Your mom goes to college" 😂😂😂
best comeback of all time !!!
Never gets old!
I will never not laugh at a Napoleon Dynamite quote 😂
The “WILL!!” Got me everytime 😂 made my day!
The “I like turtles” gets me every time 😂😂
Nichols Sparks openly shared that he wrote the part of Ronnie in his book to be played by Miley Cyrus. What’s terrifying is she was a teen and the male characters in the book referred to Ronnie in the words “tight little body” multiple times.
🤢
Never read the book, but that's kinda creepy.
Euw!
That's so weird. Ronnie was a punk, alternative kind of girl in the book, so I didn't get Miley as her.
I full-on laughed at the “piano sesh” editing. 😂😂😂 Jamie, you are so delightful. Thank you for the entertainment this morning.
The way I started laughing BEFORE I even clicked on the video I know this one’s gone be good
The editing in the piano scene killed me great video jaime
This was filmed in my hometown when I was like 13 or 14. Me and my friends were OBSESSED with the fact that Miley was in town and we went to some of the filming locations in hopes to see her. It was literally the talk of the town.
Wow Lucky did you meet her
She filmed this movie after finishing Hannah Montana the last season
Omg. The Prince audio clip gets me every. single. time!!!! 😂😂😂 I don't even know why.
Never stop putting that in.
I laughed at that too 😅
i read the book in 6th grade before the movie came out, and i can confirm the book had just as much turtles-if not more-than the movie. and because of this, it has been a dream of mine to help guide baby turtles to the ocean ever since 😂
I LOVE IT when people walk out of rooms without concluding or giving a feeling of closure to a conversation. That Greg Kinnear walkout sequence HAD ME.
That piano part was hilarious😂
When Jaime yelled, "I'm angry!" hahaaha I died.
Same, I laughed loudly 😂
“Where there’s a will…………….. there’s a weener”
I don’t think I’m gonna be able to stop myself from saying this now
Fun fact: the aquarium in this movie is ACTUALLY the Georgia aquarium. I had to Google it bc I swore I recognized the logo on his shirt 😂💜
Which is sooo far from the ocean 😂😂😂
I saw it and was like " oh wow 😂 GA Aquarium" I wish we lived that close to the beach 😂😂
I noticed this too, I just
Went for the 1st time a few months ago, it’s huge!!
@@rebelks88how all productions seem to view GA- Savannah, Atlanta, all the same...nah, one coastal and one metro four hours apart 😂
Exactly, the ga aquarium is in Atlanta, no where near the ocean. This drove me crazy because I live like an hr from there and 5 hours from any beach.
Your hair!! Love it SO MUCH! Another amazing review that literally had me LOLing 😂
I think this has been the best edited video you’ve made thus far. I died with the napoleon dynamite scene 😂
I absolutely LIVE for the female protagonist fall compilation
This move brings back so many memories. My mom and I drove to Tybee island where it was filmed. We lived an hour and a half away! And we got to see her and say hey. She was filming but she was on break walking to a makeup tent or something. She was very sweet to everyone. :)
“Chomp chomp chomp (in front of the old people) HA HA HA! You really tickled my gizzard with that one!🤣🤣🤣 oh my Lord girl you keep my spirits up with your hilarious movie reviews!😂❤
Pretty soon, the female protagonist fall compilation is gonna be its own episode. And I won't be mad.
The underwater added sound affects were amazing😂
Girl, this may be my favorite movie review to date! I was howling (and crying a little) at the end with all of the “GOOO” and “WIILLLLL”! Also screaming at the scene of you reacting to their fight over him bringing other girls to the aquarium. Too good 😅😂
The slow 'iiiii liiikeee tuurrttleeess' while Liam reminiscences and gazes out to the ocean cracked me tf up 😂😂😂
You got me at Giggidy Giggidy & @ "yea, ashley told us, how dare U date other girls in the past! LMFAO" 😂
im dying over here. Im literally slingin' tears & snot everywhere. Lol
What the heck was that guy up to???
My dad was hardly ever at my school or events like ever
Awkward.)
Never saw him again.
The banging on the piano had me in tears laughing!!! Like scream laughing with tears! 😂😂😂😂
I did too!!! I was in tears! 🤣
The way I went into a fit of laughter at 25:50 when it starts out good and devolves into madness
Hearing her talk about the effects of the cancer on Greg Kinnear's character hit me in the feels😪 I just lost my grandmother
(basically my mother since 6 months old) to cancer in October so anything regarding cancer definitely gets me going💔. But thank you Jaime for turning the sadness around with your humor..you make me laugh even on my worst days
Hugs!😢
I loved this movie so much growing up that I got a prom dress similar to the barefoot hospital hallway dress. I do not regret my decision, that dress is iconic. Thanks for roasting yet another one of my childhood movies, they're so good, they're terrible 💖
I was giggling throughout most of the video and absolutely lost it at 17:01. Oh man, I just love you.
I was in high school when this movie came out. All my friends were OBSESSED with it. Miley Cyrus was definitely a hot item back then, and was the perfect reason for girls and young women to watch this movie
Yes she was
She had just wrapped filming Hannah Montana when she did this movie
😂😂😂
Thanks again for the belly laughs . The V/O at the piano is hilarious. Your comedic timing is impecable . BRAVA 🎉
I was 12 and a huge Miley Cyrus fan (still am) when this movie was released and I loved it. For that reason I’ve chosen to never revisit it because I know it definitely hasn’t aged well
