I know it doesn't seem like it, but deer, both Doe and Bucks can be DEADLY dangerous. One kick can break bones, give concussion, or even crack your skull open. I knew a lady that tried to get a young Doe untangled from her fence and it kicked her SO hard it partially collapsed her lungs and cracked multiple ribs! Also when I was middle school age, I remember riding in car with my mom and a deer ran out on front of us. She stopped easily in time. But then about 6 more deer followed behind and one ran full force into the driver side rear door so hard that it cracked the window and warped the door so badly that it was jammed closed. They are NOTHING compared to a freaking Canadian moose but deer are solid muscle and have that unpredictable twitchy demeanor 😂

As soon as she said “they’re just deer” I was thinking “I would be terrified if that many deer surrounded me. They are incredibly dangerous!”
I lived in the CO Rocky Mountains and our deer are larger than plains deer. We were sitting out back with our cats and one bold deer came and checked out our unamused Tom and then walk up and sniff my shoulder. I didn’t move a muscle. I know some would try to pet it, but they can get easily spooked and I wasn’t taking any chances. It was a very tense few minutes.

@@mrdozey7361the drone scene was the most inspired piece to me. At first we assume it's blood maybe, a pesticide? But it's on the road. And then the flyers... the only part of it I hated was that they littered in the middle of nowhere lmao. At least do it over the set house, that's way more dynamic and interesting since it would imply being watched, paranoia.
But when the deer didn't connect to anything, and they didn't do anything with the infidelity I knew this wasn't on par with Shyamalan's work and just a nod to it.
The long shots, the close ups, the supernatural vibes are all signatures of his, but his films make you think a lot more while having more self awareness. They taunt you into laughing with it instead of at it

You could see how much Rose was struggling with her loneliness when she kept reaching out to her brother only for her feelings to be brushed aside. I think her telling her mom the story about the flood and her saying she wasn’t going to wait anymore was her refusing to give into all the outside forces that were taking everything away from her. She was going to go out and “ do something” for herself, by herself. Although she could not have known she would find her “friends” again, the fact that her self powered journey took her right back to them gives us hope! Would have been a relief to see the family reunions, but this might have interrupted Rose’s own brief reunion with her comfortable, young life. We pretty much know everyone else would be at the bunker soon. Let her have her moment!

I felt like the entire thing was made to provoke conversation with whoever you watch it with - my husband and I had to pause it multiple times to discuss what was going on and we loved that aspect of it. I do agree that some of the song choices were so out of place that it took you out of whatever scene they were trying to build & that ending is epically annoying and made you hate the daughters character instantly, but I still found it to be a great watch for the intensity and mystery but also did make you wonder if that type of attack would be possible because yikes 😳. I joked that the movie would be over instantly if it was me because I never answer the door for strangers ESPECIALLY if I’m on vacation and idc what you look like, if idk you and you just walked up off the street, we are not having a sleep over bruh - gtfoh lol but yeah I still thought it was worth watching for the discussion points and crazy action scenes. But do hope for a part 2 maybe even from another groups vantage point that helps clear up some of the plot holes. I also thought this would have made a great limited series where they do 3 separate stories that connect at the end somehow 🤷🏻‍♀️

People are comparing this to the Happening, but, with Shyamalan films I feel like he doesn't make you sneeze, but he'll still pick your nose for you. It's still satisfying in a more visceral way than if we really explored more of the concept.
At least to me, the Village is the weakest of his projects so far because of how simple the twist is. When it's more supernatural, it doesn't feel so flat.

My husband and I have had multiple conversations about how I need to stay informed about important world events, and I can’t always shut the world out, and just watch Friends.

I definitely don't think we need to stay informed about "important world events" we're not in control and the ones that are will do whatever they want no matter informed we are, all it does is make us worry about something we'll never get to decide over, unfortunately. I also watch Friends for comfort, and I'm sorry to hear you're grieving right now. I've had a horrible 1,5 years (no more money, a surgery that did more hurt than harm and two deaths) and now my dad is in the hospital and if anyone tried to tell me to keep up to date with the news now I'd might just hit them lol. The movie not having a climax is because the climax is yet to come. The idea is what was meant to scare, and how easy it was. When you know there is an enemy, but don't know who the enemy is, then everyone becomes your enemy, even your closest friend. That is where, "Friends," come in. Also, simple comforts will get you through an emotional time. We have created a world that can not survive without satelite or internet signal. We have losed the ability to survive without it. There is a scene where he gets lost while driving, and the foreign speaking woman was to represent that. Without gps, suddenly everything, and all roads, seem foreign, and unknown. You feel helpless, when you aren't.

According to Reddit, "The recurring color blue exists as it represents the blue pill intue Matrix. It implies that people remain in the blissful ignorance of illusion. "

18:11 "I've gotten off course (I'm lost), and I've been walking for a while now..." is what the poor lady said to Ethan Hawke. I cracked up laughing at your comment "You guys ready to vámonos?" 😂😂😂 because it translates 'You guys ready to let's go?' (which you probably knew!) 😅 and the sombrero was a great touch
