    Nice work! I have 3 of those and just need to replace an outboard bearing in one of them. *Be sure to stop engine when shifting into reverse/forward. Have fun! Oh, sit and lean forward and make a sharp turn at med speed to do a donut!!!! (hold on tight) Whoo Who!! 😆

    Is the compression low on the VXR? The difference in performance might be due to the pump size. Some of the Yamahas had 133mm pumps so a rebuild might not make a big difference unless it's low on compression.

    Hey man great work on that thing! I have the exact same jet ski and it flipped in the water a couple years ago and I havent been able to get to run since... It ran absolutely perfect before that moment. You used to be able to click the starter and it would start immediately... I can get it to start up and I can rev it but it shuts off once it comes back down to idle .... Is there anyway you know what I need to do ?
    Thanks a ton

      check your fuel reeds and make sure they aren't messed up, also check the carb make sure the internal fuel filters isn't dirty.

    Hey great video…..I have a 94 that hasn’t run in 3 years should I just drain the oil and gas. Put fresh in and it should fire up?

      Yeah, get all new fluids in it and make sure everything is where it should be.

    Proper maintenance makes a difference between 300 hours being a death sentence and being brand new. No ethanol never. And apparently it is better to leave fuel in these with stabilizer that is to let them sit dry like other small engines.

    What do you do with the oil pump? Are you going to cap off the lines or just let it pump nothing? Thanks!

      Oil pump was completely removed and replaced with a block off kit from sbt.

    Did you redo the Carb?

    You can just pinch those rings up into the cylinder, there's gaps on either side that your fingers can go. No need for zip ties holding them

    Where do you live? Have any wave runners for sale?

    Just curious.... whats the cost on having a machine shop bore them out? I have a simular projet lined up. Also I have to say this.. Your edits are awesome. I like that you showed forgetting the throttle cable. It's not easy..lol

    Idk what you were doing with those zip ties, but they make a tool for that, and you really want to put them on the Rods first then the cylinder..

    • @RuralPlayground
      @RuralPlayground  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes you don't have a tool and need to improvise. That's part of the fun.
