I'm just trying to understand the basics of perspective. I just watch all the content I can and try to be gentle with myself 😊 I do understand the basic concept but I find it hard to put into practice. I'm just trying to take things slow and not get upset with myself when I get that deer in the headlights look 😂
Thanks Stephen for the tips and this is another great video! Your yt videos has always been so helpful to me and this channel will always be one of my favourite perspectives channel on this platform.
Ahhhh.. thank you! I’ve watched 10 TH-camr’s try to explain perspective but they go too fast or explain it like I’ve actually had an art class in the last 20 years. I would say I’m really good at details in my drawings, however, the perspective is all ways a tad off. Thank you!! Also what is the orange piece you use to measure? It is a fabric material or hard like metal?
Thank you! I am rewatching all your perspective videos! I just tried drawing a house sitting up on a hillside and had a mental breakdown! I swear it didn’t follow any of these rules but I can’t figure out why. Could it have been because I zoomed in on it when taking the photo?
Zooming shouldn’t change anything. Cropping can make it harder to find eye level. Was it a rustic cottage where the walls aren’t perfectly vertical or horizontal?
Hi, can you make a video about how to create a successful youtube channel? I like to draw and I absolutely agree with your understanding of drawing, but I don't have any experience of online promotion, so it would be very inspiring to see one.
It’s because I don’t have photo references. I’ve only been to Europe. We can’t just copy any photo when we draw for the public domain. Photographers hold copyright on their work unless they give us permission to use them. 😀

If you look at my perspective playlists I have a few videos on explaining the concepts in everyday language. You might find them helpful 😀
Thanks, Stephen. Anything that makes perspective less complicated is always helpful. 👍😉
Glad it was helpful!😀
This has clarified so much for me and I greatly appreciate this video!
Glad to hear. Appreciate your saying so 😀

Glad it helped! Haha. Those strips are slices I’ve cut off an old coloured cardboard folder. 😆
Yes i need to draw this first : 6:00 so that i can have my reference of my self drawing it , its harder to just "eye-balling" it 👍
Go right ahead. Have fun with it. 😀

I’m not sure how much my experience would be relevant to someone else, even another artist. 🤔
I draw everything in 4 and 5 point perspective, I think it is how that works
That’s great. 😀
Hope you're doing well Stephen!
Thanks. Non-TH-cam life has been a bit busy the last week. Looking forward to drawing soon. I’m good, kind of you to ask. 😀
