    A nice benefit with darker iems is that u can crank them up alot more and not be murdered by the treble XD

    Recently there is trends amongst the Audiophile reviewers to crave for more bass , I suspect after years of listening to hi-end audiophile headphones craving for more and more details and suffering from Treble pain l, when something like Empyrean comes along then it's a immediate hit, look at the recent reviews of Tyll before he retired and Steve Gutenberg all these people whom eardrums were murdered by Treble extension for years of listening they immediately like warm bassy sound 😉😁

      i think the ear nerve for who does treble too much make the hearing nerve go bad. it happen a lot when ages get older.

      I think it has a lot to do with music tastes and that a lot of stuff that was regular fare when I was a child is now considered "classic". Much of it is quite bass-light, so gear that fills out the bass nicely is valued.

    I got the Meze Rai Penta before watching this review and I enjoy them in the office and while on travel. Relaxed, enjoyable, and fun IEMs that are on the warmer side is how I would describe them. The timbre sounds great and found it to be something that stands out as it does lack somewhat in technicalities. But for the purposes of office use and travel, I find the Meze Rai Penta pretty much perfect.

    Dude this iem sucks. Sounds similar to old school board flat studio monitors.. the ones that are unmusical and boring.

    I’m currently using KZ SZ10 pros which cost £40 - they are causing me to to reassess how much more I’m willing to spend on IEMs. I’d be interested to know your take on these and other “Chi fi” products.

      There seem to be some bargains out there, but I don't think it likely I'll get into reviewing inexpensive IEMs. There are many other people doing that with a lot more experience with IEMs, and I'd rather focus on things I'm interested in.

    Hi Sir, I have a Campfire Vega. I am looking for a iem that provides lush mids, good bass, good coherency and good musicality. Would you say the Meze Rai Penta be good upgrade to the Campfire Vegas. The budget would not be a major consideration for my case as I am only looking to upgrade once.

    • @DocHarshaVardhan
      @DocHarshaVardhan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Compared to the Vega, the Rai Penta definitely has a warmer and bassier sound. Just be advised that the treble extension will not be as good as the Campfire Audio IEM, esp Vega. So, if you want a warm, smooth sound to relax, the Rai Penta is the best there is.

    Hello and thank you for your expertise. I have always been a great fan of headphone but never could enjoy ear buds because I have ridiculously narrow ears canals. So far I didn’t mind but now I want to enjoy great sound on my motorcycle and it seems that it is an endless quest with no results so far. Here is my question: have you ever encountered ears buds that could solved my problem and stay tight on my ears without progressively move away from the right spot and therefore provide a bassless medium sounds? Cheers and keep up the great passion (-:

      Small nozzles include westone, shure and etymotic.
      Etymotic go really deep though so not sure if that will work for you.

      PascalsGuitar No problem, best of luck. If a standard nozzle with a smaller tip may work, other options include Dunu DK lineup (or Luna if you are feeling expensive). Technics Tz700 or Senheisser ie800s are also ok for smaller ears I think (again default nozzle with a smaller tip)

    Not true about background noise making treble harsh. Onkyo or campfire audio - sound perfectly fine. They also block much of the noise out.

    I love how nobody can form an opinion about these headphones being for them or not. Every reviewer has his own take, and the comments are like a mirror of the reviewer. Zeos didn't like them, his community says these are freaking boring as hell. John Darko is all over the place, his community is barely talking about the IEMs. Currawong loves it, and so is most of the users around here.

    • @Currawong
      @Currawong  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wouldn't say I love them -- I'm not a regular IEM user. More so that for portable use their sound signature makes more sense. Bright IEMs from various companies, while great at home, are ear-stabbing when used on public transport.
