I knew both the Fiesta and Focus would be on the list. The only thing I had to replace on my Focus ST has been a purge valve (which is a known issue) and a waste gate actuator. Car has 108k miles on it. $120 in repairs all diy.
why is the Renegade so bad.? I was thinking of buying one because I live in a small Island. I see many of them here where I live. I know it is mostly a Fiat 500x. Fiat 500 has been among the most selling cars in Germany for last 3 years. I do not know which country you live in. But car perception seems to be different in USA and the rest or the world.
I used to be a commercial manager for Advanced Auto we'd 4 Ford Focus in our store all with the powershitf trans and everyone had at minimum 2 new trans installed, Corporate was constantly on my @$$ as to why deliveries were slow or late... I told them hard to deliver parts when 3 of the cars are awaiting transmissions and asked them to get rid of these Fords Focus and we back on track, 2 weeks later I had 4 brand new nissan nv200 lets just say parts were on time till the day I retired and started my own business.
I also owned one, a 2018 with 0 miles and the cvt transmission started over heating at 42k miles. I changed the fluid at 40k miles. Also, have you seen the crash test video? If you hit someing bigger than it fast, 100% chance of totalling it and occupants will have major bodily injuries. Cars passing me on the highway would make the whole car shake. My friends and I were driving to on the highway in a small group and they said on some turns, it looked like i was on 3 wheels ready to flip going 75 mph. I kept it till I wouldn't be upside down on trade-in. There is a reason why its going to be discontinued after 2024 I believe. The only, only, and only positive about that car was the mpg and low cost. I think now they are $20k for a base model.
I've own a Ghibli and honestly I've never had issues. the complaints on issues are usually the ones who don't keep up with scheduled maintenance or buy a high mileage one expecting everything to work perfectly.
I worked at Enterprise rent-a-car for years and my Maseratis never gave me issues, mind you, these were rental cars and people were literally putting regular fuel in them lol
My Toyota has 155,000 miles and everything works. Outside of routine maintenance, it has needed O2 sensor replacement. This is what I expect of a car in the 21st century.
I think the Ghibli gets a bad rap. From what I've read they are fairly reliable if you maintain them. The problem comes down to the cost to repair if you do have issues. I don't care, I want one so I can just park it and look at it. :)
I would agree other than the radiators that where known to mix coolant with Trans fluid that would destroy the Trans. The latest pathfinder is worse with its cvt trans.
Same here. My mom has the 2019 XC90 T8 and it has been reliable and have a positive experience with it Only thing I agree is that the maintenance cost is high since Volvo has low 3rd party parts so most of the parts come from Volvo themselves.
The key to getting a first gen XC90 is to find one with good maintenance history, and then keep up with maintenance. Avoid the T6 models, they have a GM transmission that will fail.
We have a 2015 Maserati ghibli with 68,000 miles and it has been more reliable then our 2023 tlx pmc. The more miles the better on ghiblis everything that could have broke broke with the previous owners
Had a 2012 Cruz with a 6 speed manual and it had 145,000 miles on it before it was rear-ended and totaled. Everything still worked, including the air, and I miss that car a lot. I can't think of one repair issue other than maintenance. I've looked for a replacement (with a manual trans) but all have lots of miles by now.
I had a 2013 Cruze (Holden in Aus), 6 speed auto 1.6L turbo that I got to 240,000 (149,000 miles) and never had an issue with it. Unfortunately was also rear-ended and the car was totally.
@@TheJayden3977 I have a 2010 Holden Cruze, I don't do a lot of driving, but I knew I wouldn't be when I bought it. Aside from replacing the battery and the electric window motor, I haven't had any issues. The one thing that annoyed me about it was the fact you can't replace the stereo with a used factory unit. What was the point of them doing that? To prevent theft? Nobody is going steal the stereo from a cruze, they'll look for a car with an expensive stereo, not a cheap one.
I agree that the Tiguan is underpowered but it is an awesome vehicle. My 2018 SEL 4 Motion has reliably taken me to over 14 states without an issue. It’s puts the power down when I need it. Launches quickly and gets up to highway speeds effortlessly

My LAST American "made" car was a 1995 mini-vanI. Transmission went at 37K miles. Had a 30K miles warranty. Now I only buy Hyundai vehicles. I am now driving a Tuson. 93K miles. I only took the car in for warranty work once(2019). The AC Compressor was replaced. My out-of-pocket was for the serpentine belt.
I have a q50 3.7. Engine is strong asl. However, I tend to have front end suspension issues a lot. Replaced 2 wheel bearings, and have to do an alignment a lot. I’m 22 and have a 2015, that someone had before so that could also be a huge factor. It moves tho
I have to give you props for calling a Wrangler a car only idiots buy, while owning one yourself. Thus calling yourself an idiot, lol. Thats called keepin it 100%
For what they are the used Maserati GT is a great buy and I know a lot of people who drive them as a daily driver. There is a huge difference between Maserati models and model years. If you want an Italian "semi exotic" on a budget they can be the best buy out there.
I had a MY2015 ghibli engine blow up at 42,000 due left bank cylinder failure…diagnosis was due to shitty quality gas…so make sure to get fuel system cleaner every 2000 miles and avoid sketchy/wholesale club/grocery store related gas stations bc those have state minimum required fuel cleaner additives. Car was also driven pretty hard majority of its life so it’s not 100% a quality issue
I drive a 2013 Chevy Cruze. Only 54,000 miles and no issues. It is a great car. Sure my Cadillac is faster but they are both great. I think the Civic should be on the list
You are right on one point. Volvo has come a long way since the 240. Trouble is that it is ALL downhill. My 240 has had to haul several newer Volvo XC models out of ditches. Yes, the XCs were all wearing proper winter tires as was my old beast. The controls in the 240 are sensible. Not so the new ones. The new things, which means anything newer to the market than the 900 series, are okay cars but piss poor Volvos. Volvo lost the plot in the 90s.
The Volvos are excellent until you need to do maintenance call or repair, but what makes it worst is fact that their is no repair manual available it makes victims of the owner, just can you get a workshop repair manual
What? No Charger/Challenger with the 6.4l on list or older S-Class Mercedes? Guess this good news for me as a 392 Charger owner and wanting to upgrade to an 2018-2020 S Class sedan eventually.
@ItsPinecone_911 yea my 2010 Z06 is still going for 50k ......its crazy.....wife chose a 2018 Ford Fusion Sport over an S class Mercedes.....we are quite happy with it.....325 hp 380 lbs torque......and AWD.....in a Fusion lol....who knew lol...if I was going to go pick a newer V8 sports car.....I would prob go with a Lexus ISF 500....what I want next.....
@@YourMomsPlaceLastNight the Fusion Sport is nice. I remember wanting one back in 2018 when I still had my 2012 Ford Focus Hatchback and my 2002 Porsche 911.
Was thinking about buying a 2015-2019ish Tahoe or Suburban. The price of those things just tank. Might wait a few more months cus the car market is starting to come back to reality. Its crazy those things sold for 70 to 80k and you can pick them up for under 20k used.
just because a car is cheaply made and is underpowered doesn't make it.. unreliable? i dont get why cars like the mirage or Infiniti arae on this list, like yeah there are better cars but I wouldn't say they're unreliable
The Mirage is a step up from chinesium. It's the modern Yugo. I'm sure they will be collectors items in the future. In other countries, these things are great. But in the US, they get trampled on the highway. They're also pretty much disposible. I'm interested to see how they fair in Germany. The Q50 is just an under performer... Supposedly. Reliability doesn't seem to be in question, despite the thumbnail. I don't know man, these guys are hit or miss sometimes.
Wow I must be a huge idiot cuz I would actually buy almost all of these and bro my dad owns a 2006 Volvo XC90 V8 and it's actually quite reliable. So how tf did the xc90 get on this list!?
The Infiniti q50 is fast.. We all know that more power means more gas.. Fuel is not an issue when you're having fun.. Handing.. Like with all cars.. Bigger wheels means Less Tire cushion between the street and the rim/suspension components resulting in firm to hard bumps.. Bad cornering just get performance struts 🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾🤣😆😆
I remember a certain year of ghibli they couldn't get wet... Rain water would cause moisture to form around the battery terminals.. The only way to get they to start was to leave the battery exposed to open air and dry it out.. 😂
My wife drives a Nissan Juke (build in 2021) it drives quite fine and 0 problems so far.... is it ugly? the old ones yes, but the new ones are quite nice
It should have, lol. 100k mi engine rebuilds FTL. Those oil injectors are also cancer. Same with the wiring harness. Then there's the giant nut holding the flywheel in place. All to replace some apex seals that wear out due to being more complex than piston rings. Good effing lord. And engine braking, not really a thing in an RX-8. Such a hard pass. The look and speed of that car is so not worth the headache. Give me an STi over an RX-8. Easily the lesser of the two evils.
Nissan/Infiniti are a mixed bag depending on model. They have some of the most reliable vehicles on the road (Armada, QX80 and Frontier) and some of the least (basically anything with the Jatco CVT transmission). That transmission was just bad and is the real reason why Nissan reliability has been called into question. Armada and QX80, on the hand may be outdated but are tried and true and generally exceptionally reliable)
Gone are the days they used tp make simple, dependable cars. Now a days its plastic disposable junk. There are still lots of idiots who buy these unreliable cars with 80 months financing. I drive my 1985 mercedes, runs like a champ, with no repairs.
Recently, I was in an Uber vehicle, a 2015 Hyundai Sonata with 312,000. The only issue the driver had was his alternator, which he replaced. I was mind blown. 🤯
I have an 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid and the transmission failed in July of last year. Can you tell me what your data source was concerning this Issue?
You could just Google it. If you find info that supports that they are reliable you could rebut the article, but you won't. You aren't a sample size...😂
The Hyundai Santa Fe is garbage! I have a ‘22 unlimited and it is seriously limited. The power train is as weak as a baby kitten, the warnings and alerts cannot be turned off, the speed limit warning goes off when you are 3 mph over the limit. The GPS insistently thinks I am on local roads when I am on a highway. 🛎️🛎️🛎️🛎️🛎️🛎️🛎️🛎️for bell the entire ride!. It doesn’t even co e with a spare tire. You get a big can of fix a flat. The brakes are light and the turbo spooling DOWN causes the car to lurch forward. CVT transmission (enough said). The paddle shifting turns off if you don’t make a gear change in 10 seconds. Comfort made is like driving a manual transmission with a slipping clutch and sport mode jerks you around more than a wooden roller coaster. Multiple safety recalls and terrible customer service regarding those recalls. Hyundai was great for a short time. Now? Stay away. Just an FYI ALL of the Ford ECO turbo motors have brittle valves that have started to EXPLODE the engines. Recall coming VERY soon (700,000 vehicles)
That’s not totally true what your saying. Every car has his failures. Look at the luxury German cars. If something breaks you gonna pay high price. I love Maserati and you know what the problems are, but I bought for the emotions. Lambo urus is too much bling bling with VAG parts.
Don't show a Fiesta ST, and talk about how bad the automatic transmission is. The ST only came in manual.

The Cruz gets high reliability ratings from Consumer Reports.
I have a q50 3.7. Engine is strong asl. However, I tend to have front end suspension issues a lot. Replaced 2 wheel bearings, and have to do an alignment a lot. I’m 22 and have a 2015, that someone had before so that could also be a huge factor. It moves tho
I got so scared when the Z showed up at the beginning cause I own one
Z's always have been & still are bad ass!
I have to give you props for calling a Wrangler a car only idiots buy, while owning one yourself. Thus calling yourself an idiot, lol. Thats called keepin it 100%
👀the model X and S both both are horrible
Always great info guys 🔥

Is a baby charger hahaha
Missed the Jeep renegade
Infiniti Q50 you got wrong
So far my 2018 AMG45 GLA is sweet AF

You guys missed every bmw and thats about it
Keep Cherokees were bad in the 2014-15 range but improved a lot by 2018
I have a dart waiting on a new transmission now
"what do you think of the list" "I think you should've said how many of them were sold so we can kinda get a chance to see like what the numbers are.
The Volvos are excellent until you need to do maintenance call or repair, but what makes it worst is fact that their is no repair manual available it makes victims of the owner, just can you get a workshop repair manual
With all the trash talking the auto community does on Kia and Hyundai…. None made the list. Good.
What? No Charger/Challenger with the 6.4l on list or older S-Class Mercedes? Guess this good news for me as a 392 Charger owner and wanting to upgrade to an 2018-2020 S Class sedan eventually.
Prob get an AMG something fircwhat you get trading in a scat
@@YourMomsPlaceLastNight you can get an AMG S63 from about $50k in the 2015-2017 model range
You missed practically everything made by Jaguar Landrover
So, this is basically a Stellantis-list with sprinklings of other manufacturers^^
Was thinking about buying a 2015-2019ish Tahoe or Suburban. The price of those things just tank. Might wait a few more months cus the car market is starting to come back to reality. Its crazy those things sold for 70 to 80k and you can pick them up for under 20k used.
What about the bimmers and Audis?
The new bmw are way more reliable than the old one ,especially with b58 or s58 engine
Nope the focus st manual is extremely reliable
Wondering where you are getting your information. Sounds like its more opinion
Well, you can't blame the 500. Fiat 500 is one way of letting you know it has 500 issues 😂
Chevy Cruze 2018-2019 were quite reliable.
The first generation was pretty bad.
just because a car is cheaply made and is underpowered doesn't make it.. unreliable? i dont get why cars like the mirage or Infiniti arae on this list, like yeah there are better cars but I wouldn't say they're unreliable
So many people disagrees with this video and also my dads gonna buy gle 350 or gla is it good
i had a ghibli for 2 years never had any problems it was the best car for what it cost to keep, i only lost £600 on purchase price after 2 years
I got to appreciate that almost none of those American cars came to my country.
I had 8 years a 500 sport and it was a very fun reliable car.
Remember the Jeep CJ's Cool, fun and reliable.
I remember a certain year of ghibli they couldn't get wet...
Rain water would cause moisture to form around the battery terminals..
The only way to get they to start was to leave the battery exposed to open air and dry it out..
😂
Honestly the Infiniti Q50 isn’t suppose to be on this list ..
The Nissan Juke isn’t bad as well
My wife drives a Nissan Juke (build in 2021) it drives quite fine and 0 problems so far.... is it ugly? the old ones yes, but the new ones are quite nice
They don’t make them anymore.
Bad time for little cars? My Corolla thinks otherwise
Xc90 I always liked but knew of couple issues some friends had with volvo
The Mazda RX-8 didn't make the list. I'll take that as a win!
If you say fiat 500 is unreliable, you know nothing about that car😂😂
The Ford Bronco is just as bad, if not worse, than the Jeep Wrangler.
Everyone I know who has one doesn't have anything good to say about them.
Thank the EPA for the suburban being destroyed
Only one subaru on this list?.. That's pretty good for them.
The amount of times Nissan and Chrysler made the list shows some something. Chrysler Jeep Dodge never once produced a quality vehicle
Don't hate on my 200!! It wasn't a truck which is what I wanted but it was fun until I trashed it!!
Is the Chevrolet Cruze based on the Vauxhall/Opel Astra from about 10 years ago? Looks like a medium sized Opel/Vauxhall. Watching in Dublin, Ireland
Gone are the days they used tp make simple, dependable cars. Now a days its plastic disposable junk. There are still lots of idiots who buy these unreliable cars with 80 months financing. I drive my 1985 mercedes, runs like a champ, with no repairs.
No bmw’s lets goooo
Can't believe Kia and Hyundai didn't make the list.
Recently, I was in an Uber vehicle, a 2015 Hyundai Sonata with 312,000. The only issue the driver had was his alternator, which he replaced. I was mind blown. 🤯
The facts that not 1 Bmw made the list 😂and the q50 is on there?? Yeah that’s wild.
If you buy Tesla's Semi you will trully understand what it means to have the worst one.
You won't believe where the mercedes GLE is built
Bmw fans came up with this list
I have an 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid and the transmission failed in July of last year. Can you tell me what your data source was concerning this Issue?
You could just Google it. If you find info that supports that they are reliable you could rebut the article, but you won't. You aren't a sample size...😂
Absolutely heartbreaking
Range Rover evoque sure do look great 😊
The Hyundai Santa Fe is garbage!
Where are the BMWs?
Damn some people really want to see bmw here
The new ones are way better
A focus is pretty solid right??
So basically stay away from mopars.
That’s not totally true what your saying. Every car has his failures. Look at the luxury German cars. If something breaks you gonna pay high price. I love Maserati and you know what the problems are, but I bought for the emotions. Lambo urus is too much bling bling with VAG parts.
Just to make sure get either Toyota or Honda 👌
I’m guessing the jeep gladiator is pretty bad as well
