This one hits different. Grew up in onalaska, tx. 3 stop lights, one grocery store. 48 people in my class and I'm one of 4 or 5 that left. Started chasing money all over the country. Met a girl from Houston and moved to kingwood 9 years ago. I would have never thought it would feel different coming home everytime and people would treat me different but the moment I left I was outside the bubble and didn't seem to belong anymore. So Parker you wrote a hell of a song on this one and to those who want to get out of a small town and chase a dream, never feel guilty for it.
Like i am Lithuanian and i left my country to save more money i am workin in Norway, and i have one big dream to get a green card and to live and work in Texas one day as a truck driver ! Dreams come true i know :)
I left my hometown in Washington to go live with my dad in Colorado a year ago since then everyone were I'm from quit talking to me so I feel you people change when your not around anymore
Amen god bless that's Soo freaking awesome I'm from the city and still to this day feel like I'm out of my bubble and don't fit in cuz I chase my own dreams and stay true to my self and don't try to conform to others views or opinions.
As a 24 year old, these lyrics really hit home. "Growing up ain't all it's cracked up to be." Saw Parker live a couple weeks ago, it was absolutely unreal!
@Parker McCollum🔹 Happy Birthday Parker Mccollumi This is Avril Edwards You are the best men in the world ❤✌❤💜 God Bless you and your Wife Can you text me back right now
At 60 years old it's not too many new country artist that I like but I'm definitely going to add you to my list of favorites it's refreshing to listen to someone who has a nice voice and you can actually understand what they're saying
Strange how personally this resonates, enlisted after high school from a rural county thirteen years ago and now after three tours when I go back its changed and more populated, some of the old places are still there but there's less familiar faces and it hits me how much the years and wars have taken; and its getting harder to find the salt of the earth folk and small town America.
These lyrics hit big when you come from a small town, things change, even gradual changes be a lot. You can easily picture your hometown driving and listening to this one. "growing up ain't all it's cracked up to be" that one hits hard.
I went home for Easter after moving to the city for school in January. Damn it was bittersweet. This song perfectly captures what it feels like to grow up and move out of your small town, only to miss it when you’re gone

I put out a video about how much I love Parker’s music. And I’ll continue to listen to his music, just making an observation on the production. I prefer that authentic sound over a polished preset every time. th-cam.com/video/2v3AMxx-eEU/w-d-xo.html
Beyond the Row just because the production of their music got better, doesn’t mean they/or their sound changed. Its just well put together, mixed and produced well. His first two records especially limestone kid had that raw sound because he was a young artist and resource wise thats what he had access to. As an artist you dont want your music to sound unrefined and under produced forever. He can still rip the acoustic sets and that raw country tone as good as anyone but it has to be expected and appreciated that with more commercial success his music needs to continue to mature. This song is amazing love everything about it.

zach bryan, parker mccollum, and koe wetzel need more publicity. they’re all legends...
koe just signed on with sony Music company
And Tyler Childers
They are all big in Texas just they aren’t shitty rap pop “country” enough to be on “country” radio

Koe is good but I don’t understand why everybody calls him country it’s not lol
you know it’s a good day when Morgan Wallen and Parker drop on the same day
This was better than Morgans
Grant Dietz frrr Morgan’s was pop
Kane brown and trace Adkins did too

And turnpike troubadours may be touring again
Most underrated country artist!
Zach Favreau fr tho
So true
Do you think zach bryan is more underrated?

This song reminds me of peak Kenny Chesney. Similar guitar riffs, catchy rhythm and lyrical cadence. I can even imagine Kenny’s voice singing it.
Conroe, TX loves you Parker!!!
I grew up in Montgomery, Texas. My grandpa and his grandpa were best friends.
My dad went to Conroe and I grew up around there. It’s crazy I didn’t even know he went to Conroe till like a year after I started listening too him.
