I found that I'd already done the first puzzle, and I didn't care to repeat it. I did the second puzzle, though. 2:20 Easy enough. Left-to-right, it's 981. 3:50 619 left-to-right. 4:50 567 top-to-bottom. 6:40 I distinctly remember that block and column from doing the puzzle. I also heard that it's an NYT favorite trick. 126 fills out the top of column 1, 357 fills out columns 2 and 3 in block 7, and 9 and a 48 pair fill out block 7 column 1. If I don't see the pattern, my cornermarking picks it up.
I am glad to hear that you have heard of this before, John. I thought frequent viewers like you might appreciate The NY Times puzzle since I’ve never featured it before. Nice job figuring out the Naked Triples.
In SudokuPad, holding shift down while putting in the number makes it a corner mark (like Snyder notation). Holding down control makes it center marks. Another way to do it is to select letter x on keyboard and that should shift all the markings you make to center marks.
@@SmartHobbies Ahh... SudokuPad. I thought you were using Hodoku! I was liking the ability to do colors for individual candidates in Hodoku, using your coloring tutorials, which were super helpful by the way. SudokuPad lets you color individual candidates, too? I haven't been able to find an app that does both hybrid notation/center marks and also coloring individual candidates (Medusa). Thank you for the quick reply, and appreciating your content!

Thanks for this! Curious how you make the candidates centered when they're pairs/triples?
