If I was the ministry of tourism in Turkey, I would immediately give to Mick amca and Trudie yenge Turkish citizenship + monthly salary, as well as a camera team that, would capture and make movie every step they make in Turkey. He promotes Turkey, much better than anyone else, just because he is so sincere person.

inspired by watching micks videos of turkey, we decided to take a road trip from antalya to fethie. We rented a car and off we went. We now live here full time in the antalya region. It was the Best decision ever for us!. Easy visas and low cost of living and great weather and food. Big thanks to mick 🙏👍.

A bit closer to the main city and this place would have people lining up to buy it (assuming this hasn't already happened.)

Did you place damp proofing just on the foundation or on all walls up to the roof? I am not certain how this works. Starting construction project myself, need to know what to ask the builder.
It’s a thick nylon stretching underneath the complete concrete floor, in Turkey the walls are often built on top of the concrete floor so the nylon stretches up and over the first brick or if you have a stone wall it stretches to the outside stone and the inner stone wall is built on top of it, if you’re not doing the cavity wall i.e. an outside brick wall and an inner brick wall then you will need to insolate the walls with polystyrene lined plasterboard or something similar

@mickandtrudie - Mick what did you use for the damp course for the walls? Asphalt strips melted directly to a lower run of bricks? Im an Australian been living in Bodrum for 8 years, I too have noticed the rising damp on nearly all walls in Turkey, they just seem to accept it here as normal.
Are use the thick industrial nylon sheets like they have for greenhouses and stretched it right across the concrete foundation and then built the walls and the floor on it ! Turkish villages said the house will slip off the base 🤣😜

Mick built/started it 30 years ago and it still doesn't have a Tapu (Deeds) :) how long does one have to wait then?
Still it is a great place.
The house was built on 2B land originally, all houses were on 2B land in those rural areas.
The government agreed to give them all the title deeds as the houses had been built for years and officials went up to parcel and measure the land approx seven years ago.
All property are getting the deeds in that area, some houses have received them already…it’s Turkey, nothing is rushed 🤣🙋♀️
You’re right nothing rushed down there in the south maybe but it’s cracking on for half a century now.
I’ve had some legal experiences in Izmir courts concerning property and found the legal system quite robust.
Are foreign buyers allowed to buy out of a city’s limits?

@@stephensquire2410 friends of ours have already done this with a villa they purchased a year ago (it is only a five minute walk away from The Mountain Lodge) - they have sorted the deeds out and have the home set up in their name as a business🙋♀️🤠
What about buying land to build for business and a bit of country life
Because the lodge was built 30 years ago it is a registered building on what the Turks would call farming land or forestry land (2b), but there are strict rules now on building on farming land unless it is designated as (Arsa ) land!

Yes, I’m sure you would find something for that in Fethiye area, it just depends the condition, the size, bedrooms, pool…it’s best to contact agents directly to research and they will give you a better idea of what you can hope to get for $600 (they all use WhatsApp).
A friend recently agreed a rental contract over a ten year long term basis for an apartment.
The apartment itself is quite old, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, is tired and a bit dated, the views though are stunning in prime location, and for the price of the rental at £300 month, with landlords permission, she is happy to spend a little money refurbishing it (new bathroom, kitchen, doors).

I moved to Alanya March 31. Retired Govt analyst.
I stayed in an apt hotel for three months. Small money. Cleopatra Beach.
Got my rez....moved to an apt in Oba.
Wife's mum got sick had to terminate the contract this week.
Paid 5 mths rent.
Guy owner and rent place wouldn't give me my deposit back.
It was 3500 tl.
I've looked and researched this type of scam now.
It seems more common this end than yrs.
Closer examination of the contract I could see he kept the rent at 1800 tl to miss two tax bands.
So
I'm going to ask your advice please?
1. Please state the pitfalls on your channel and people will be clear?
2. Can you put me in touch with or suggest somebody reputable in Fetihye or Bodrum?
Apt not house.

The price is too expensive for a place without a title deed. It is not clear whether the title deed will be given. If they do not give and complain, the illegal structure will be demolished. Risky. They show tolerance to you strangers.
No that is not true only structures which have been built illegally after 2019 are possibly to be demolished this house and outbuildings has been there for 25 years
