English translation:
An insect goes into the vegetation
The insect looks at the vegetation
The insect says:
I want to eat the vegetation
The insect eats the vegetation
A bird goes into the vegetation
The bird looks at the insect
The bird says:
I want to eat the insect
The bird eats the insect
A reptile goes into the vegetation
The reptile looks at the bird
The reptile says:
I want to eat the bird
The reptile eats the bird
A mammal goes into the vegetation
The mammal looks at the reptile
The mammal says:
I want to eat the reptile
The mammal eats the reptile
A human goes into the vegetation
The human looks at the mammal
The human says:
I want to eat the mammal
The human eats the mammal
The human goes into the vegetation
The human eats all things
All things disappear
The human does not eat
Then the human disappears

Great song! Helping me with my listening in to Toki Pona. When I saw you had uploaded a new song, I visibly grinned!
I am very glad to hear that! Good luck with your studies!
i swear i heard this song in a different language before, or at least one that has basically the same story
That is cool! Let me know if you find it!
"I don't know why she swallowed the fly, perhaps she'll die?"
“There’s always a bigger fish”
The sound effects remind me of animal village in link’s awakening

At the end, there should be a text about a pipi that moku e jan moli.
I agree. It would be a bit like the way folk songs sometimes connect back to the beginning (Where Have all the Flowers Gone, The Bog Song, etc.)

Lol, I love this song, it feels like a food chain of everything eating one thing higher than it.
Just one time, at 2:35 you don't need "ijo" there, "ali" on it's own when used as a noun already means "everything", it's not technically dramatically incorrect but feels unnatural and not how most people would've said that. Other than that, good song!
Thanks for the appreciation! I must admit that I am not a native Toki Pona speaker, so I often make mistakes...
@@maluviam it’s ok, being a native speaker, I’ve learned that it can be difficult to learn
@@novaace2474 plus it fits the syllable count slightly better
@@maluviam I’m relieved you’re not a native toki pona speaker, I’m pretty sure none of them are old enough to be on social media

Are those symbols for the words in actual toki pona or did you create them for your songs??
Yes, each symbol is a word. The symbols were invented by the same person that invented Toki Pona, Sonja Lang. The symbols are called "sitelen pona". There is actually a "linja pona" font for sitelen pona. When you install it, you can write the actual Toki Pona words and they will transform into the symbols!
do you have any notation down for this song? i'd love to make a cover of it!
Hello! I have written a small score with the melody, bass line and chords, and the lyrics of the first verse. I hope this will be helpful! drive.google.com/file/d/1vpLWGG5BgKPuSgu1FPpRbeG1TT6UfptU/view?usp=sharing
sina pona a! This is such a great song for a beginner like me, with all the repetition, not only between the verses, but also within the verses. And the tune is charming. I've pretty much got all the verses except the last one memorized. @@maluviam

Thank you for your kind words! It is certainly true that the cultural content of languages makes them worth learning.

(Was I right with my toki pona, I'm trying to learn but I only started not too long ago)
Hi! It depends on what you wanted to say. Literally it is "I don't know or he/she says". I interpret is as "I don't know what he/she says". I would say "mi sona ala e ni: ona li toki e seme?" But I am not an expert either. Good luck with your studies!
@@maluviam Thank you, I don't quite remember what I said but I better know grammar and stuff now but still don't know every word as I am only learning it relaxedly. I am not sure but I think I was saying: mi ala sona e nimi. taso ona li pona.

It sounds very African, is it actually African song translated? BTW good song
Thanks! The song is inspired by African music, but I made it myself. But considering that it is so simple and ordinary, I am sure it is possible to find many other songs that are quite similar.
ce remaster ? :D iv already heard that one :0
It is a new version. I corrected some grammatical errors, and transposed three semitones upwards, for a brighter sound.

Thank you for your comment! Of course, I could have used another word. I don't really know why I used "pini". I guess I wanted to keep it simple.
