I have the utmost respect for Reggie Fountain! The man, the myth, the legend! However, it pains me to correct him on one technical detail. The Bravo drive was not unveiled until 1988. The original drives on his 10 Meter were in fact Mercury TRS, which utilized an intermediate transmission for shifting. The later Bravo’s shifted (F/R) via a cone clutch within the drives upper gear case.

Grew up going to Pamlico River during the summers back in the 80s. Those Fountain boats would tear the river up headed out to the outer banks for the day. OMG! Audio porn! .....and even got to see and hear some of Reggie's race boats on test runs. Badass!

Dear Fountain guys.. I have a good friend who owns a Fountain Kevlar race boat from the early 80s with NO BEEK it weights half of what the 10 METER ICBM weighted ...How come I can't find any pictures of those Keval boats ..

They did not have Bravo drives in 1980. They had TRS drives

We'll test your memory when you are 83. As many boats as Reggie has built, and as many decades that covers, I could care less if he made a mistake like that. I found out a couple months ago I remembered something incorrectly. I could have sworn I was right, but I found photographic evidence I was wrong. I was stationed in Washington DC and a friend of mine had a car. We reunited after 35 years and I insisted that the car he had was a Pontiac Tempest. He said it was a Le Mans. When I was looking for pictures for my Mom's funeral, I came across a picture I had taken of the car in 1979, up to the bumper in snow. There on the trunk lid was... Le Mans. maybe some day I can be perfect also.

Thanks for the reply. The boat I’m looking at seems to have the 47 lightning hull with 9 ft beam but just a higher deck moulding and raised bridge with tri power. Definitely a different boat to the one in your test
