Hello Edwin I'm a future owner of an Indian Scout in Spain . More than two months ago I hope for her . For now, I have to console me watching videos like yours . Great contribution . I hope to follow creating more videos so we can make it easier to hold. excuse my bad English . regards
Edwin, honestly... don't worry about the people criticizing the audio. I can tell you have really good skills and you'll set up a mic and figure out the music levels in no time. I have screwed up several videos with funky audio... lol. I like your channel. Always good to see new Indian vloggers! Keep it up! :)
You answered some of my questions on the Scout that I just bought. I was wondering about that knocking sounds after riding for about 5/10 minutes. I complained about the clutch as well and found that I could not really do anything about it so I will suck it up because I love the bike. The only thing I worry about is getting stuck in bad traffic and that would be uncomfortable. I appreciate your video. Thanks for your time putting this up
Thank you! Yea, the Scout isn't perfect (nothing is) but it is a great bike by Polaris considering the frame, engine, etc are all brand new. Good effort for their first try. One thing I did realise after getting the bike is - it likes to be ridden hard and fast. The more aggressive you are with shifting at higher speeds, the smoother it is. That said, we shouldn't be speeding on the road. :P Getting stuck in traffic during winter is great, something to warm the thighs..but summer..hmmm...lobster thighs.
That's good to hear. As more motorcycles are moving towards the digital and electric age. These mechanical ones will have better shelf life and value in future. Plus this design is a classic. Timeless. Hope you get yours soon. 😊
Edwin, Points well taken. I also own and ride my 2015 Scout most days when it's not raining. . I think that your review was informative to those that are not intimately familiar with the Scout . Did you get to test ride your machine before purchase? The clutch will keep your left hand and forearms strong! Keep the greasy side down. Polaris makes well engineered V-twins for Indian and Victory. Some of the noise you hear might be coming from the gear driven primary. V twins with belt driven primaries are quieter and less clunky when shifting. See you on the highway. Matt
Thanks for responding. I'm looking at a scout and I like the idea of getting a standard gloss black and then going the plastidip route. Always good to have options.
No worries. 😀 One thing to note though....is after dipping the bike. Be careful of not spilling any petrol on the dipped area. It'll leave a stain and is unremoveable. The only way around it after is to respray the surface to cover up.
CenochC Hi there. Yes, I agree the audio isn't great. Didn't have a good mic. Regarding the paint, it's originally gloss but I spray painted it with Matte Black PlastiDip. It's a rubberized paint so it's peel able when I don't like it anymore.
Hey Edwin, liked your video and am actually thinking of getting a scout 60. It's not offered in matte black so I was wondering if you could quickly explain what you did to make your bike into a matte color? Wasn't able to catch that bit in the video.
Hi Pulkit. I spray painted the fenders and the tank with PlastiDip matte black. It's a rubber based paint so it's peelable. 3 coats and you're all set.
Hey Edwin. I'm considering applying plastidip to help protect the paint on my Scout. Did you remove the gas tank when you plastidipped? I can get the fenders off no problem but the tank seems a little intimidating...I'm not all that mechanically inclined lol. Thanks
Good video, but I have to agree about the audio. I have a hard time hearing with other sounds like music. I really had to listen hard and still missed some.
Was going to say something about the sound, but I see that this has been addressed by a few other commenters. Only real suggestion in that aspect is to get yourself a lapel wireless microphone such as this --> www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-omnidirectional-lapel-microphone-black/4779600.p?skuId=4779600 For future videos. Hopefully it will eliminate a lot of the background echo, especially if you are filming in your garage with the bike. Good video otherwise! Hope you keep that bike rolling for a good long time. Also, if I'm not mistaken, there are aftermarket fuel gauges you can get for that bike that sit on the fuel cap or are digital and link to a piece you attach to your handlebars. Don't quote me on it, but there may be something out there for that problem with the Scout.
I'm a 46 year old supersport rider that is vertically challenged at only 5'5", I was going to get the sporty1200, until Indian announced the scout's return. It's an easy decision, going with the Indian scout. the sportsters suspension is horrible compared to the Indians.
Are you serious, lower the frigging music or get a mic. You sound like you're in a echo chamber with loud music interupting your accented echoed voice. You took the time to do everything but the sound right....thats kind of like engineering a bike to look good but forgetting to make sure sure people will enjoy the ride.
Edwin Kua I'll bet you have had friends who everytime they call you they put you on speaker....a every once in a while you go off on them telling them to pick up the damn phone because its aggravating to talk to people with allot of backround noise. Thats what i was reacting to..your video is solid.
@Victor, you are right on the money. Turn down the F in music, too much echo to understand what you are saying Edwin. Go outside with the bike and speak.
I said a couple of weeks ago to try a waterless coolant in your bike. ObamaReallySuucks replied that it is snake oil. Look, if you want to read some product reviews, you can find them on Amazon.com. Look up Evans waterless coolant. You have to remember that this product must be installed correctly. You have to completely prep the cooling system before you install this product. There are some good comments on Amazon from bike owners.
***** Oaky, I've read it, and like anything, there are test that show they work and test that show they do not. I would say then to stick with what you trust.
1AmericanInAsia if you aren't racing the bike then water-less coolant is simply to much work. Water less coolant is more designed for MotoGP or Offroad racing. For normal street riding you'll only see about 1 to 2 degrees difference, It's not worth the effort plain and simple AmericanAsia I use to raise offroad and a privateer for Road racing it helped a great deal BUT for the daily commuter it isn't worth it.
greenmarine5 The claimed advantage of waterless coolant is not to reduce the vehicle operating temperature. It is use to eliminate the corrosive effects associated with water based products and to eliminate the need to replace coolant again.
Great video Ed! There's an active Indian Scout community over at www.indianmotorcycles.net. I'm sure the folks there would also enjoy your observations the scout.

I've watched a couple of your bike videos and damn your a likable guy . Great bike too !
Visually, this video was really well done! I look forward to future videos.
Hey boys and girls. Sorry about the sound quality. I'm a newb and I'm learning as I go. Will sort it out in future videos. Thanks
+Edwin Kua I love echoes, echoes, echoes...
I'm in initial search stage, really appreciate these thoughts. Thanks!

For a bike? If you're going to ride to work or use it as your primary vehicle, make sure you get a water-cooled one.
Just for leisure. SUV for work/primary. Thanks for the tip!
Good video and your audio quality was fine, the music was just a bit overpowering.
Nice looking bike and matches your cool personality. Sound could be better but nice informative video. Enjoy the bike.
Great motorcycle and dealerships. Honorable group of people.
You are a talented videographer. Liked and subscribed.
Extremely informative- thanks for posting.
Edwin good video! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Great review; you nailed it and present well.
Nice video mate - love the bike. Please could you tell me the name of the protective process you have used?
subscribed! I envy you. hope to get mine in 2yrs. sucks working at a BPO company.
Thanks for sharing the things you typically don't hear in bike reviews. I may do the same sort of video on my Harley Sportster 72.
You talked about PlastiDip the chrome parts? Can you explain what you did to protect the chrome?
Cheers for the video. Nice to hear you'll be keeping it for life - I also plan to keep mine for life (when I get it) ;-)
That's good to hear. As more motorcycles are moving towards the digital and electric age. These mechanical ones will have better shelf life and value in future. Plus this design is a classic. Timeless. Hope you get yours soon. 😊
Edwin,

0:09 that very handsome bike :D
i never had bikes before , but i think for this be my first bike
So on the plastidip, did you use the spray can variety or professional spray gun/booth? If spray can, how many cans did it take?
Hi there. I used the spray can and it took about a can and a half. That was about 4 coats.
Thanks for responding. I'm looking at a scout and I like the idea of getting a standard gloss black and then going the plastidip route. Always good to have options.
No worries. 😀

Mort13 You can order the bike in Flat black, Plasti dip is an excellent product, but if you don't have to.....?
greenmarine5: True. I was thinking the 2 or 3 hundred I could save on that option could be handy for other mods.
Was hard for me to hear, what did you do to your paint job exactly it? If it was gloss it definitely looks matte in the video
CenochC Hi there. Yes, I agree the audio isn't great. Didn't have a good mic.
Regarding the paint, it's originally gloss but I spray painted it with Matte Black PlastiDip.
It's a rubberized paint so it's peel able when I don't like it anymore.

hey man I'm 5'4 how's the reach to the handlebars?
beautiful bike
Hey there mate. I'm thinking of getting a scout from the same place you got yours. How is yours going two years on?

thanks for the video
thanks for the vid!
music name pls *-*
Can you repeat that please?
+Amir E Lol, could understand about 1/2 of what he said.
He does at 0:00
IS THERE A FUEL RESERVE VALVE YOU CAN GO TO ???
no
get rid of the music or get a microphone kid we cant hear you
yea cant hear you for the music
dude, the echo and music doesn't work
Good practical information from a user's point of view. As far as the sound, the echo isn't too bad, but for your next video lose the music.
sound please!!!
Personally, I prefer the Victory Gunner.
Audio sounds like it was recorded in a trash can
Are you serious, lower the frigging music or get a mic. You sound like you're in a echo chamber with loud music interupting your accented echoed voice.
You took the time to do everything but the sound right....thats kind of like engineering a bike to look good but forgetting to make sure sure people will enjoy the ride.

victorstennis Thank you VictorStennis. Yea...I'm fairly new to the content game. I'm hunting for a mic now. Thank you for your constructive feedback.

Looks like a Japanese bike, isn't it made by that jet ski company?
Very good skills not very good with audio though
Cant hear a damn thing!
you need a mic
Sound is bad. Imaging is good.
Great video Ed! There's an active Indian Scout community over at www.indianmotorcycles.net. I'm sure the folks there would also enjoy your observations the scout.
Serious, What are you saying. Cant hear a thing!
Turn off the music when you are talking as the sound is bad
I agree. It was my first motorcycle vid. Will have better sound next time.
+Edwin Kua no worries better than I could do. lol thanks for the effort :)
