Honestly, these JBL Pro 2 really seem like the perfect earbuds for me, but what still blocks me is that I can't find any tests that really talk about the quality of the microphones in phone calls in a noisy environment, and that is really very important to me. I just want to know if they are as good as Airpods Pro if not better. It's clear, I also prefer the case format of the Airpods Pro.
Ahhh man I had a clip of audio that would sample that and compare them to the AirPods Pro. I recorded that to be include in a future comparison video. I should have included a clip on this review for reference! Sorry about that! In lieu of that, let me explain what what I found from my test. The Live Pro 2s were decent, it did experience some significant distortion in strong winds but otherwise did a a fairly decent job pulling my voice from the softer winds. The AirPods 1 & 2 were definitely better at combating the harsh winds. But the 2nd gen pros truly did so much better. So if you are comparing it the the 2nd gen AirPod pros then you might be a little disappointed. I typically have low expectations for mics on earbuds so the Live Pro 2 did surpass those low expectations. Hope that’s a bit helpful for now! I had the original live pros, they stopped working then melted when I plugged them in to charge thinking maybe they were dead. Even tho they were way out of warranty jbl sent me a new pair of the live pro 2s. Honestly great customer service aswell.
Certainly a great question, one I am not quite sure about. I would hope so, but not guaranteed. I suppose if they are connected to both your phone and your laptop, that should work but if it’s just connected to your laptop alone, I’m not certain it would carry over.
Yes, the sound is very nice, but there is a problem with the right earphone. I bought 3 and the right earphone of 2 of them does not work. I think there is a problem with the software. It does not recognize the right earphone.
Great Review, thank you! I was wondering how they compare to the LG Tone Free DFP9. These are advertised as the other really great AirPod alternative. They have the UV-Nano technology and the case can be used as a Bluetooth transmitter. The main thing i would choose the JBL's over these is that the ANC is supposed to be mediocore and also they have smaller sound drivers than the LG's. Has anyone compared these and can tell from experience which one's are more worth it?
The only big issue I have with them is that you can't freely control the commands on the earbuds like you can with other companies like Jabra. If you choose playback and sound control, you need to sacrifice ambient/noise cancellation control.
@@ardentlytech And there some drop out and they are not good with windows. I will probably sacrifice ANC for more customer friendly earbuds. There is a high chance I will go for Jabra next time I buy a couple of earbuds. Either them or Samsung. Never going back to JBL.
I have the tune 120, which are 2 or 3 years old (or even more?). I ordered the live pro 2 today partly because of this video and I'm so exited for them!
Thank you so much. I've read comments of people saying the mic was not working for whatsapp calls, meet video calls, Teams video calls and whatsapp audio messages. Have you had this issue too?
Thanks for asking! I personally haven’t experienced any issues with that. I’ve used them for various FaceTime calls and voicememos and never been told of my mic going off
I think you may have a faulty pair and should get them replaced if that’s the case. Though I’m not an audiophile by any means I wouldn’t even consider these anywhere close to how you’re describing it.
I'm using the jbl tune 225tws, I think they are okay just a little uncomfortable and are not water proof or sweat proof. I wanted airpods but I have an android. So I'm probably just going to get these. Thank you for the review. The only thing I think you should have added was the mic on the earbuds.👍 Also, I really like how you read peoples comments and reply to them. I have only watched this video and im already starting to like your channel.
I am looking for earbuds for calling. I am on calls atleast for 4-5 hours a day. I have people around me on calls too... My clients complain there is a lot of background noise (people talking on calls) Which earbuds should I go for calling and music (secondary) in budget of $100... With stem or without stem . Which one would be better?? Thank you..
if these are on sale, for that budget, you should consider these. the mics are pretty good at isolating your voice to a certain point. if it gets too loud, they will start to distort. I did try taking a call on these at a football game once (in the concourse of the stadium) and the person I was talking too could still hear me relatively well despite the chatter of the people around me.
I actually stuck in mono mode and i cant change it in stereo mode i rest my jbl live pro 2 tws but it wont work so can you help me pleaseeee, pleasee pleasee
Sorry just seeing this comment, hope it's been resolved at this point but if not, I'd suggest trying to let them run out of battery and then recharging them. I think that can help but if not I would try to get a replacement through warranty. Let me know if its fixed already and what you did to fix it.
Thanks, Don! Glad you enjoyed this review. As for the Quantum TWS, I haven't tried them but going off the name I and some research sounds like those are part of JBL's gaming line of products. So they will probably shine in low latency for gaming purposes. Their battery life is only 16 in total, which is a fraction of both the Live Pro 2 and the 230s. So if battery life matters to you, I'd stick with one of those two instead of the Quantum TWS. Outside of that and the multipoint connection on the Live Pro 2, everything else seems to be pretty similar, spec-wise. So I'd assume the Quantum TWS would perform similarly to either the Live Pro 2 or 230 despite the big difference in battery life. Hope that's helpful sorry I couldn't give you more based off of real experience.
The live pro 2s are 120 euros at my location but the 230s are 55 euros, so are the live pro 2s still worth double the price of the 230s or should I go for the good deal on the 230s?
Well they are both great, but the smaller form factor of the live pro 2 and better sound quality is certainly at least worth considering. I think you’d be happy with either. But I’d either spend the 120 for the live pro 2s or just wait to see them drop in price.
@@yasinraden562 sorry for the confusion here! Arnell thought this comment was left on the video he did on the Anker SoundCloud Life P2. As for these JBL Live Pro 2 vs the soundcore Liberty 3s. I honestly can’t say cause I haven’t tried the liberty 3s but if I had to choose between these two based off of form factor alone. I’d go with the JBL Live Pro 2 just because I prefer earbuds with stems. Also JBL has been doing audio longer than Anker so I’d go with them as well. Hope this provides some clarity! Sorry for the initial confusion lol😅
Yeah I mentioned it breifly in the video they are interchangeable cause the design is nearly the same as the Live Pro+. You might want to try these foam tips, they can help with constantly having to adjust often. I just ordered them for my pair: amzn.to/3f2yYJ6
I haven’t tried the other two so I can’t give you a fully honest opinion. But I will say these live pro 2 are my go to head phones and I use interchangeably with my AirPod pros. I would side with these often. That being said I’ve also heard great things from the other two you mentioned. I’m sure these all will serve you well.
Great question! I can’t say for sure since I never got a chance to try the nothing ear 2. But I do hear people often choosing between the two. I can only say that I really enjoy these jbls and often use them interchangeably with my AirPod pros and I haven’t tried an earbud that’s performed better than them at the same price point. Sorry couldn’t be more helpful!
No biggie, been around 5 days, i went with these live pro ones :) been loving the experience. Im quite big on looks, so was just being allured by the nothing's looks. They sucked at battery backup.
gf got them instead of airpods as a gift. They were pretty tin'y out of the box. But that metal tone subsided a bit after some use. They're OK. Lots of features, good battery life. I prefer my pixel buds though even though they are not as well featured. The two device thing is interesting but doesn't work very well for my workflows (laptops seem to steal the connection so one will always win)
I haven’t tried the Tour Pro Plus but I did a mic test when I was in a concourse of a football stadium and honestly did pretty well. So hopefully they meet your standards for that!
I’ve gotten this request a few times but every time I search for them on Amazon the closest thing I see is the JBL Vibe Beam. Not sure if they are the same thing.
Lol I’m 9 out a 10 too like I told you in the other video. Those pro2 are amazing! I was on the market for AirPods Pro 1 cause the price was going down and I’m a Apple boy 🫣😜 they did go down 159 two weeks ago and I miss them, they sold out before I took the decision. So I went for those JBLs live pro 2. Last week I found at my local BJ’s store, the AirPods Pro for 169 and almost got ‘em, but I couldn’t, cause this JBLs are so good… so I’ll keep them for now and definitely wait for AirPods Pro 2 get down on its price, then I’ll go grab em. Also, at the same day I got my self the Beats Studio3 matte black for $158,99 🎉😂 it does have apple w1 chip, which is great. I think I’m done for now 😅😅😅 Dude, keep the good working going, you did help me bite the bullet on this one (I was about to get them that day, then you gave me the last push for it. I’m glad I got them. See ya next vid
That’s awesome to hear! Glad our video could help you make the right call! I used to have the Beats Solo pros but I had to sell them cause they were not uncomfortable after longer periods of listening time. I’m sure the studios will be better! Glad you are enjoying the JBL live pro 2!
So I haven’t used the Jabra Elite Pro 7 myself, but just from seeing what they look like and watching this review from @pickyaudio th-cam.com/video/NIrbw9DsLKU/w-d-xo.html I would still choose the JBL Live Pro 2. Main reason is my preference to earbuds with stem and the other reasons is the better battery life from these buds and better ANC performance. Hope that helps!
@@ardentlytech thank you for trying to help me and answering. I'm trying to find latency rate for jbl live pro 2 and jabra elite pro 7 on ios devices and pc but I didn't found anythink do you know anythink about these devices latency? which tws is better for less latency?
Not sure of the jabra elite pro, but I know with the Live Pro 2s when you connect to them and get the JBL app. You can switch to “Video Mode” which will lower the latency. I will do that sometimes but I don’t notice it much in my use.
Latency is not noticeable most of the times. But they do have a video mode on the app you can switch on to improve that latency. As for codecs here’s what I was able to find online: The pair relies on Bluetooth 5.2, plus supports the AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs, but not AptX. Here’s the link: www.pcmag.com/reviews/jbl-live-pro-2-tws
Gotta be honest with you I dont follow the codecs that closesly to give you a valid answer. But I think the quality is great and very comparable to my AirPods Pro 2s. not as good but still great! sorry I couldnt be more helpful for you!
Would you recommend the JBL live pro 2 or the Beats Studio Buds for an iPhons user? I saw a couple of people say the JBL Live Pro 2 randomly pauses and resumes or disconnects, is that true?
I personally haven’t tried the Beats Studio buds so I can speak for those besides what people have shared with me. feels like there is a slight benefit for apple users with the beats but again, I haven’t tried them. as for the live pro 2 issues, I personally haven’t had any issues with that. my pair work really well sound really great and I use them interchangeably with my AirPods Pro 2. I’ve been using the live pro 2 for about 3 months now and haven’t come across anything like that. But there are chances of faulty pairs it seems like. I’ll advocate for the live pro 2 but I’m sure you wont be disappointed with either.
@@ardentlytech well that’s great. One more question, the JBL Live Pro 2 really have 1 feature(the beats studio buds do not have) that is still making me unable to make my final choice. That feature is the in-ear detection so when I pull out the earbud it automatically pauses . As I have never used any true wireless earbuds before, is that an important feature? Does it really make a difference from just pausing from the earbud itself?
@@andrewsameh8297 not necessarily. But I’ve come to expect it from earbuds from a certain price point. For me I appreciate when earbuds have that feature. But it may not be something you care about.

Hi , currently in india .. on amazon, pro+ is quite cheaper than than the pro2 . Pro 2 is priced around jabra 7 active .. Wht would you suggest me to purchase . I need fast connectivity, good microphone, and water resistant Or should i go with galaxy buds2
I think for a decent price, the live pro + will be all you need. They have a better waterproof rating than the galaxy buds 2. From my experience the mic was decent, not amazing but it worked in most circumstances. Hope that helps!
These seem nice. A great stand-in for AirPods if you can’t/won’t spend for those. And that earbud inversion thing….it’s a thing. I deal with that on my AirPods Pro’s…..both versions. But as you said, it’s not a big deal. Worth coping with being in the Apple ecosystem.
Yeah they are great for that! I switched to foam tips on both these and my AirPods Pro 2 so I don’t deal with that anymore but again not a big deal anyway.
I have these earbuds for about a month, but I think I'm gonna bring them back. I'm really happy with the sound, but man oh man, I never thought the actual weight of them would be such a big deal for me. Apart from looking a little funny when in your ears (which i don't really mind), they really feel heavy. As a consequence, they pop out all the time, so I need to readjust them. While readjusting them, I always end up changing the song, activating different noise cancelling modes and so on, which is really annoying. Great on paper and great sound in reality, but seriously bulky and a bit too heavy. My girlfriend has the nothing ear 1, which feel slightly cheaper, but the sound is totally fine and the fit is damn superior.. I guess I'll bring them back and wait for the nothing ear 2 to come out in december.
Dang sorry to hear that bro. I didn’t have that issue with these but I did have an similar issue with the JBL Tune 230s. I’m curious to know if you try the AirPod pros because I think those are heavier but I think they’re more balanced. These live pro 2s feel lighter but a little less balance imo. I switched to foam tips on these, and they stopped falling out of my ear. I’m also excited to try the nothing ear 2! A friend of mine just told me about his nothing ear 1s and how much he loves them.
I haven’t tried reflect flow pros but purely based on preference I’d choose the live pro 2 cause I prefer a stem on my earbuds. But these also have a bit better specs than the reflect flow pros as far as I can tell
So I haven't tried the Club Pro + but just looking at the specs, I believe these Live Pro 2 will be better. These Live Pro 2s have the larger 11mm drivers vs the Club Pro+'s 6.8mm drivers. Live Pro 2s also have better battery life, and better specs and features overall. But if you perfer the smaller foot print the Club Pro+ is also an okay option from what I can tell. Hope this was helpful!
I haven’t tried the beats fit pro but since they are apple owned I’m sure they deliver a great sound and have benefits similar to the Airpods. But I have to say these JBL live Pro 2 are just so good all around, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed regardless
I've been using these for like two months and theyre pretty good. Sound quality is amazing and bass is good. Theyre really good to the gym even if you sweat. Overall pretty good. I have them as black which gives them bit worse look in wear. i would recommend getting the white ones, other wise really good earbuds.
They are often on sale, I suspect they could be on sale for Labor Day weekend. If not give it some time, they were just on sale for $99 earlier this month. So they will probably be back at that price soon.
The live pro+ at that 59 is a great price, haven’t seen them that cheap. But I’m a big fan of the upgrades to battery life, slight improvement in sound quality and the multi point connection on the Live Pro 2, so I would certainly spend the extra 34 euros for them. But it’s up to you if those upgrades are worth it for you. Let me know what you end up going with
I know those benefits are kind of worth it. But if the sound quality is kind of same then I am okay I guess. I actually have got the pro+ for now. And my main daily driver is QC35 ii while at work or home, nothing beats them in sound and comfort.
@@UnfilteredTrue definitely makes sense! I use my live pro 2s primarily for work and as back ups to my AirPods Pro 2s and honestly in some situations I prefer them!

Hey, I just wanted to know if these are still worth getting ? Or would you recommend an alternative at this price range right now?
As of right now I still think these are great earbuds for this price point. I haven’t experienced anything I’d replace this with yet.
How are these buds nowadays. Are they still worth getting in 2024 as I'll be picking a pair up tomorrow
Glad you enjoyed the review! I haven’t had any experience with those LG earbuds but hopefully someone watch has and can offer some feedback for you!
The only big issue I have with them is that you can't freely control the commands on the earbuds like you can with other companies like Jabra. If you choose playback and sound control, you need to sacrifice ambient/noise cancellation control.
Yeah that's unfortunate and very true!
@@ardentlytech And there some drop out and they are not good with windows. I will probably sacrifice ANC for more customer friendly earbuds. There is a high chance I will go for Jabra next time I buy a couple of earbuds. Either them or Samsung. Never going back to JBL.
The JBL Live Pro ii are the bessst. They sound good and they have great features you’d love
Heard someone say they broke after 6 months? Anyone went through this?
I had them for almost 1 year now. Working fine.
I have the tune 120, which are 2 or 3 years old (or even more?). I ordered the live pro 2 today partly because of this video and I'm so exited for them!
Glad we could help with that decision!!
Thank you so much. I've read comments of people saying the mic was not working for whatsapp calls, meet video calls, Teams video calls and whatsapp audio messages. Have you had this issue too?
Thanks for asking! I personally haven’t experienced any issues with that. I’ve used them for various FaceTime calls and voicememos and never been told of my mic going off
@@ardentlytech thank you so much for replying 🙂🙂
On apple Iphone, do u need to go into settings each time to connect them or do they connect when they are turned on?
Once you connect them once they should just reconnect automatically.
These earbuds not only are very quiet but they sound tinny .. like those old style crystal earpieces

Thanks for the comment! Definitely plan on bringing the mic quality as a regular part in earbud reviews. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I am looking for earbuds for calling. I am on calls atleast for 4-5 hours a day. I have people around me on calls too... My clients complain there is a lot of background noise (people talking on calls)
Which earbuds should I go for calling and music (secondary) in budget of $100...

What about JBL quantum TWS? How good they are comparing to JBL live pro 2 or 230 ?
Thank for the videos - one of the best reviews so far 👍

My man, what'd you recommend from these vs the nothing ear 2 ones?
Great question! I can’t say for sure since I never got a chance to try the nothing ear 2. But I do hear people often choosing between the two. I can only say that I really enjoy these jbls and often use them interchangeably with my AirPod pros and I haven’t tried an earbud that’s performed better than them at the same price point. Sorry couldn’t be more helpful!
No biggie, been around 5 days, i went with these live pro ones :) been loving the experience. Im quite big on looks, so was just being allured by the nothing's looks. They sucked at battery backup.
I totally get that! Hope you're enjoying the live pro 2!
How do they compare with the Redmi Bus 4 Pro?
Unfortunately never tried those sorry I couldn’t be more helpful there
gf got them instead of airpods as a gift.
Yeah totally can understand that! Regardless I hope they serve you anyway you need them too!
I hope they have the same mics and ANC as my TourPro Plus - because the Pro+s are amazing for calls & NC.
I haven’t tried the Tour Pro Plus but I did a mic test when I was in a concourse of a football stadium and honestly did pretty well. So hopefully they meet your standards for that!
I'm considering getting the JBL wave beam TWS but I'm still not 100% sure could you reveal them by any chance

I was on the market for AirPods Pro 1 cause the price was going down and I’m a Apple boy 🫣😜 they did go down 159 two weeks ago and I miss them, they sold out before I took the decision. So I went for those JBLs live pro 2.
Last week I found at my local BJ’s store, the AirPods Pro for 169 and almost got ‘em, but I couldn’t, cause this JBLs are so good… so I’ll keep them for now and definitely wait for AirPods Pro 2 get down on its price, then I’ll go grab em. hi, I'm thinking to buy jbl live pro 2 or jabra elite pro 7 which tws do you suggest most?
What about latency? How much latency does it have? Also any comment on audio codecs?

How many hours can i use it with full battery ? Can i use with iphones ?
Anywhere from 30-40 hrs with the case! And yes you can use it with iPhone!
Sorry that your experience with the Live Pro 2s were poor. There’s many people who really enjoy these earbuds, including myself. I carry them daily and use them interchangeably with my AirPods Pro 2.
@@ardentlytech you always have to sacrifice one function and you cant set the presses manually, they're preset. In low latency mode the sound quality is worse. And without it the delay is at 390ms. Thats almost half a second delay. And as I said, they lack of rich sound, even with eq. Without eq the mids are too dominant anyways.
I feel that you didnt try proper sounding earphones yet else you wouldnt have hyped these buds so much
Sounds like you have a much higher bar for earbuds and I admire that. I admittedly am not well versed in much higher quality buds than the AirPod Pro 1 & 2. For me those are top tier.
I’d take any earbud suggestions you think are better than these! I love learn about new products and trying them out
@@ardentlytech soundcore liberty 3 pro with eq preset professional, liberty 4 should be good as well but i dont know the correct preset
Definitely will have to try those out.
are they good for gaming?
Honestly I havent tried them for gaming but they do have a video mode on the app that reduces latency that could help for gaming purposes too
@@ardentlytech oh okay thank
