    One of the hardest parts of exercise is simply knowing what do to, and how to do it, in order to achieve your goals. With countless online TH-cam tutorials, different trainers giving varying advice, friends passing on their personal tips and tricks... it’s hard to know where to start, and what will give you the results you’re looking for.
    As a surfer, one of the reasons you might spend your precious time doing exercise is because you want to surf better, or at the very least, you want to be surf fit. This is a guiding principle in every surfer’s workout -including, of course, 3x World Champion Mick Fanning.
    Mick has decided to help take the guesswork out of it and give you a bit of insight into what he does, as a professional surfer, to keep his body healthy, fit and ready for the surf.

    Thanks for sharing Mick! Your approach to exercise and movement in warm ups for surfing changed the game. Most people still just suit up grab their board and walk out there, but you showed how loosening the body prepared you physically and mentally before heats to deliver your best consistently. Knee is looking great too, stoked to see you fit and back in the water! All the best during these times

    Yeah Mick thanks for sharing!! Solid and simple warm-up routine for sure. I've done it before running the past few days since quarantine and my whole body (mostly hips) are far less tight overall!

    I find doing these exercises before i head out to surf really makes a difference in my flexibility especially in the hips, i see my technique is improving in the water. Thanks So Much & Keep up the Great Work , Mick !

    Hey Mick that was great just tried it. Came to surfing late but used to box and do a lot of fitness but my body is a wreck now. This felt great for my back might just try this everyday and see how I go. Cheers 🤙🤙

      I just slow it down and move carefully where I know I have weaknesses (like crook lower back)
      Then a nap. . .
      Then go surfing!

      The Dishwasher same here. Take away what works, discard the rest. Same as all training routines really, they don’t all work for everybody depending on weight, strength, mobility, injury history, etc

    So far these are all yoga positions and qigong movements, with bouncing...it's the bouncing that looks questionable for joint health. It's difficult to improve on eastern martial arts and Hindu yoga positions.
