Isn't that part of it though, she's condescending in a job where she's meant to be empathetic and work with people to help them. But she treats them like they're idiots, or just annoying her/wasting her time - she's not meant to be likeable.
I thought Meryl Streep was mediocre in this, until I saw some of the other episodes, and then realised she's the best one. It's an overrated series. Lisa Kudrow is not convincing.

Gra Piken further more just because a show was canceled doesn't mean "it's shit". For example a comedy show like Better Off Ted lasted only 2 seasons and it was brilliant when compared to something that's average at best like "How I met your mother" that went on for a million years
