- Reinhold Moritzevich Glière (Russian: Рейнгольд Морицевич Глиэр, Ukrainian: Ре́йнгольд Мо́ріцевич Гліер / Reingol'd Moritsevich Glier; born Reinhold Ernest Glier, which was later converted for standardization purposes; 11 January 1875 [O.S. 30 December 1874] - 23 June 1956), was a composer in the Russian Empire and Soviet Union, of German and Polish descent.
Violin Concerto in G minor, Op. 100 (1956)
completed by Boris Lyatoshinsky (1895-1968)
One movement
Yuko Nishino, violin and the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Yondani Butt
It should be noted that despite the allocation of an opus number, the work was actually completed from the sketches by the Ukrainian composer, Boris Lyatoshinsky. We are not told in the liner notes how much input from Lyatoshinsky was involved or whether this is merely a completion of the opening movement of Gliere's projected work: it sounds like a torso, rather than a concerto that was conceived in one movement, and Gliere's late cello and horn concertos were both written in the conventional three movement form. - เพลง
The more Glière I hear the more I am impressed.
I 'discovered' him a moment ago, after 59 years. You echo my thoughts exactly.
Beautifully played by a much talented artist and symphony orchestra! Bravo!

No concessions to 20th-century modernism, but very beautiful and well crafted. Gliere had a real gift for melody.
A wonderful discovery! Thank you for posting.
Un joli concerto de ce compositeur qui n'est la plupart du temps connu que par son concerto pour colorature
A pretty concerto by this composer who is mostly known only for his concerto for colorature
Je n'avais jamais entendu parler de ce concerto pour colorature ! Ses symphonies sont tout de même plus connues même si très peu jouées
Thanks for uploading!
This is my new favourite piece :)
I love this piece! Thanks for uploading. By the way, how did you get the sheet music? I was looking everywhere on the Internet but I couldn't find it.
Inspiration!!
👌👌👌
Thanks for uploading. You can hardly find any better violin concerto!
Beautiful ! We can hear the same motif than Ravel's Tzigane, an other great violin piece !
this is a nice short one
Unfinished. He never finished first movement. Lyathoshinski used sketches to finish it but we probably will never know how much he contributed.
Bartje Bartmans ahhh that makes sense
Are you going to upload his cello concerto?
Yes. In coming days.
Mendelssohn vibes at the start
la song puede utilizarse en algún video?
o me vendrá el copiraith

There is copyright on the music by Universal Music.
@@bartjebartmans -- Oh my! But I guess that's alright provided it inures to the benefit of Glière's distinguished scions, heirs and assigns!
