  • Whenever you knit multicolor garments which change colors repeatedly, whether in creating stripes or in doing short-row color work, you may want to carry the unused color up the back (or wrong side) of the work until you need it again to avoid having lots of ends to weave in later.
I describe the best way I have found to carry the unused color up the back without causing any vertical tension problems. It also holds the yarn firmly on the back of the fabric so it does not show at all on the front.
I hope you find this useful the next time you knit horizontal stripes, or work short row color work, as in the Colorfun Scarf I am demonstrating the technique on.
