    General Grievous was a force to be reckoned with in this show. The movies make him look like a pushover. The clone wars made him scary and a horrible enemy. But they’re nothing compared to this adaption.

      Lucas gave the creators free reign, but he never wanted Grievous to be that powerful cuz it would've undermined Vader in ROTS. The same could be said about Jango Fett in AOTC. He wanted Dooku to be the big powerful baddie, so he could only allow Jango a couple badass moments. You don't have to agree with it, it's just how he approached it.

    The best part of this show was always the action sequences. That’s how Genndy Tartokovski reels you in. You read what the action is and you can feel the tension in every scene. But my personal favorite part would have to be when Mace Windu is battling all those droids and even blowing them up with his bare hands. And at the end he gets water from a local kid who happened to be in the area watching it all.

      @@3dstuff654 And that's just the issue: I don't feel I can even reach season 3 because every time I try to keep going through season 1, I immediately stop after watching one episode. Season 1 just feels so rushed, both in concept and execution. One episode had Anakin be badly hurt, but there was no real sense of dread and he was better by the end of the episode anyway. It's just tough to get to the good stuff when you got people giving you different advice on whether or not to watch the first two seasons. And Ventress seems really 1-dimensional so far, she has even less personality and expressions compared to Tartakovsky's Clone Wars, which is disappointing.
      I'd only watch TCW for the clone troopers, to be honest. I don't care much about anyone else beyond Obi-Wan, and then I also think Darth Maul shouldn't have been fan-fic'd back to life for fan service. Let the original characters stand on their own without relying on bringing dead fan-favorites back from the dead (my biggest complaint about The Rise of Skywalker, also).

    • @an0rangutan

      Have to disagree with everyone saying early knighting is a good thing. Becoming a Knight requires more than just skill, it takes genuine maturity and self control, two things Anakin was definitely lacking in episode 2, he needed to become more mature in order to earn that position and prove he had improved as a Jedi, not just as a warrior since Episode 2.
      In the 2008 version, he was knighted only 2 months after Geonosis, which makes no sense lore wise or for his character, it would take time for him to actually change and mature and to actually prove that he did change and mature since then.
      He didn't deserve to be Obi-Wan's peer yet, he still deserved to be his underling requiring mentoring, the final months of the Clone Wars are when he really starts becoming his master's equal in many ways and finally maturing and becoming patient and responsible.

    • @an0rangutan
      @an0rangutan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Tom Ffrench The only reason he wants to become a master is because he wants access to the forbidden archives to learn new powers that can save Padmé, that's why it was such a big deal to him.
      Even if he became a Knight 2 months before that, (which I believe it's closer to a year anyway) he still needs to become a master in his eyes, it's a necessity.

    My head canon is like this: after Episode 2, I watch the original clone wars cartoon all the way up to the knighting of anakin (It’s also a nice smooth transition into the start of the war). That way we can see the proper introduction of ventress and grievous and the start of the change between anakin and obiwans relationship. After watching it, i didn’t notice anything that really breaks the cannon, so i think these first couple of episodes can fit in nicely in canon and it’s a good prologue to clone wars 2008. I recommend watching it like this, it’s a good way to watch the whole war of the franchise.

    After watching Clone Wars (2003) I am amazed at how good it was! I loved Grevious, OMG I seriously cannot understand how The Clone Wars (2008) would change his character! In the 03 version, his method of brute force, intimidation and suprise never once made me question why the Jedi couldn't just Force crush him. In the 08 version I am yelling at my screen, "crush him!" It just made no sense.
    I also loved the Coruscant battle. So good. The shows depiction of the Jedi's power, whilst sometimes over the top, is just amazing! I loved it!

    This series has my favorite versions of General Grievous and Shaak Ti, the fight where Grievous fought 6 Jedi was amazing, and the scene where he kidnaps Palpatine. Shaak Ti fighting off the Magna Guards was so cool. Another great moment was the Anakin vs Ventress fight, Anakin tanking a force push only to return with a harder one was awesome and I loved the foreshadowing of his turn to the dark side. And don’t even get me started on Mace Windu punching battle droids 😂.

    finally, someone who rates this series highly! I never saw any american cartoons as a kid, but I did see this one. Buying whatever pirated DVDs to get the next season. This is what got me into Star Wars. And plus, I do think the battles should be exaggerated as they were in this film. We are talking about trillions of lives at stake. That's one of the only gripes Ive had with the newer Clone Wars, not really fitting the scale of the conflict. That and the fact that we never saw Anaking grow like the video says.

The combat sequence against the Jedi knights was spectacular. When I saw it as a kid I was like "Oh sh!t, did the bad guy just won? No way... the Jedi... they got owned so hard!"
