    Thanks, Doug! Concepts is an AMAZING drawing app! I love that it's vector-based and that the elements remain editable and scalable as a result. I wish it had better layer management, but that's what updates are for, right? :-)

    I used this on PC for tattoo art sketching. On PC it was called Mischief, but sadly they shut down the project recently. I have it though. Would be nice if it was free on iOS since I bought it 1 month before it was shut down. Now, I realize its two different developers behind it, but still. Bummer. Love it.

  • @donturner3228
    @donturner3228 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Doug, great video - well done. Have two questions for you. First, how would you compare Concepts with Notability? Second, I'm a "Unicorn Quest" to find a true mind mapping app that makes use of the Apple Pencil. Essentially have "anchors" on each node. Click on the top or the bottom and the app creates a sibling. Tap on the right anchor and it creates a child and you can use the pencil to write in the node and let it convert to digital text. Any ideas? I've been searching like crazy and haven't found one yet. I use XMind with Scribble but still have to go down to bottom of app to create a sibling or child. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I live on mindmaps for all kinds of reasons and to me this is my "ultimate app" - IF I can find it. Thanks

  • @ex0stasis72
    @ex0stasis72 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What happens if you think of one more node to add as a child of the “Why?” node? There’s no more space there. For other mind mapping apps, you can just add a child and have the app auto arrange them for you.

    • @verbaltovisual
      @verbaltovisual  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Christopher! I used the iPad's built-in screen recorder, which is pretty handy. I didn't know it existed until a few months ago, so it might be fairly new. A google search will show you how to add the record button to your drop-down utilities screen.

    • @verbaltovisual
      @verbaltovisual  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good questions Jason! I still use Concepts when I have big projects that need a lot of space, but I've been leaning more on Notability lately for the simplicity, the page-by-page layout, and the built-in recording feature. Still just using an iPad in both cases.

    Which is better : concepts or endless paper for iPad

  • @jordanrubinfilm
    @jordanrubinfilm ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you know if the Concepts app allows you to select (lasso) text or images and move or resize them? I love Endless Paper, but it doesn't allow me to select and move things after I draw or write them. (Note: I want it to be an app that zooms in as much as I want, not just down scrolling). Thanks.

    • @verbaltovisual
      @verbaltovisual  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, you can do that! All the marks are vectors, so you can move and resize them without losing quality. You can also zoom in and out (almost) as much as you want - there are reasonable upper and lower limits.

    • @jordanrubinfilm
      @jordanrubinfilm ปีที่แล้ว

      @@verbaltovisual thanks for the response. Are you sure Concepts can zoom in as much as an app like Endless Paper? Perhaps I have the settings wrong but it only seems to be able to zoom in about 1600% max. I want to be able to zoom in much more than that- here’s an example from Endless Paper. Can Concepts do something like this? If so I’m switching to Concepts because I like all of the other options it has: th-cam.com/video/RPhIWKS6hIc/w-d-xo.html

    • @verbaltovisual
      @verbaltovisual  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jordanrubinfilm The upper and lower limits of Concepts zooming are 10% and 1600%. Looks like Endless Paper gives you a lot more based on the video clip you shared.

    • @verbaltovisual
      @verbaltovisual  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think that's one you need to pay for. Look for the Selection tool. Here's an article on setting up your canvas that might be helpful: concepts.app/en/tutorials/setting-your-menus-brushes-and-presets/

    • @curonevans
      @curonevans 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m having the same problem. I’ve asked Concept the exact same question. I’ll let you know what their answer is. You do indeed have to pay for that tool.

    • @curonevans
      @curonevans 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Moving something counts as editing. It is only after you purchase the essentials pack that you can move objects around on the ipad. Just had this confirmed. Bought the pack. Now I can move things around. Without this feature the app is very limited. The pack is worth the money. I just wish they’d make it a bit clearer.
