The presence of flying bullet sponges is a real downer, especially when this is Combine territory. They could have had a lance of prototype Akumas, or Atlas K's, VTOLs are a real bummer.
ER Large generates 12 heat points per shot. Large Pulse Lasers generate 10. You saved 2 tons but generate 2 more heat.
every time i see a bunch of stormcrows i cant help but have that meme play in my head where they all run by cawing like a swarm of crows XD
Nice vid Magz! Been watching since your original subnautica playthrough and damn bro, watching you is so nostalgic lol. Have a good one!
Me personally I switch the LRM-20's for LRM-15's with Art IV more of your missiles hit and they produce less heat and you don't run out of missiles as fast.
Also target the engines exclusively on those things and make sure to tell your Star to do the same other wise they just shoot the body.
I re-tune the mech some more later. Funnily enough I switch to non ART LRM-15's and grab two extra DHS with an extra ton of armor on the center, works as a much better setup.
@@MagzGTV Honestly with the way you fight so in close you should switch to Streak SRM 10s. Also, your heat build up is because they aren't pulsing. That is the thing about Pulse Lasers is that they pulse so they aren't just "on" when you pull the trigger, look at them like Anti-lock breaks on a car. They pulse to prevent the wheels from locking up, and pulse lasers do the same thing for heat.
Microprose was hands down the main company to go with for simulators since the 80s. I started with Gunship in 1986 for the Commodore 64 and still have it in a box on my shelf along with my trusty Commodore 64 from 1982 so I agree that Mechwarrior 3 was the best one by far.
Yeah but then EA started to release the Jane's series of simulators and blew the doors off Microprose.
I'm not as versed in the lore as you but also those bombers, flying slowly in formation, just waiting for you to shoot them down--even before the "boss" fight was really immersion-breaking. I'm supposed to believe these are threats? And those Sokols, like if you have something that big and slow, why weren't they using the terrain? Again just sit around and wait to get shot. I'm enjoying this playthough but I feel your pain here Magz.
Loved 3 as well.
I had a mech game on my first Xbox, man that was a long time ago.
The reason Mechwarrior 3 was the best is was because it was the most 'by the rules' mechwarrior game ever made... The weapons and mechs had literally the stats that were in the board game... and it didn't have the reticule tied to the center of the screen nonsense.
You build your Mad Dog very similar to how I normally build one out. I just personally prioritize heat management rather than armor because I tend to keep it a little farther back
I think one of your Ally reinforcements got cored due to getting punched in the cockpit by a Crab during the timed defense lol
Pity you couldn't get the secondary objective done too
Drop the LRM20 to LRM15 to pack more heat sinks and you will be good.
I had the same feeling about all the "boss" fights against flying crap, completely unnecessary and unfun. While over all i have really enjoyed this game, maybe even love it, the boss fights are always tedious and boring.
We will win before the end of the year. Smoke Jaguar seems to not have studied history very well.
Good Moaning
The boss fights in this game are not a welcome addition. The dropships are especially boring, let alone the gazelle gunship.
Great play through so far though Magz.
Totally ignoring clan honorable 1:1 combat? Or was there a storyline reason it was dropped? Clanners do not engage a single opponent with several units outside a grand melee.
"Engaging you're Target." Is wrong lore-wise.
When fighting pirates and criminals, Zellbringen is considered suspended, an enemy with no honor deserves no respect. Killing them on sight without any airs and graces would be entirely on brand for Clanners facing Yakuza. It's also worth pointing out that Smoke Jaguar always had a very loose interpretation of what constitutes 'honorable combat' compared to more reserved Clans like the Jade Falcons.
Cringing at the bad pronunciation of "Shilone"
Shil-one? 😂 man sometimes the ways you think stuff is said when you just read and never hear is bonkers.
Is there any way to turn off all of the constant talking from the NPC's? I thought Rihanna was bad, but these guys never quit whining.
I think it's funny that the only major regret of the MechAssault lead was that he didn't work to make it more lore accurate.
