Description: "Ich hab mich ergeben", originally titled "Gelübde", is a German patriotic song. The text was written in 1820 by Hans Ferdinand Maßmann. It was one of the unofficial national anthems of West Germany from 1949 to 1952, when the "Deutschlandlied" was officially reinstated. Its tune is now used in the Micronesian national anthem.

Thank you for uploading this, it is my favourite german patriotic song. Even more this beautiful rare version. Danke Dir so sehr
During the heyday of shortwave radio when stations would chime a nostalgic interval signal as a station identification as analog tuners were the norm, the German radio station Deutschlandfunk used the melody of "dir Land voll Lieb und Leben"!
This song is currently used as the national anthem of Micronesia.
And a estonian patriotic Song. th-cam.com/video/_7PcM-JCKo0/w-d-xo.html

Hey i know i'm a bit late, but the Title of the Video is wrong in one place, as you correctly translated in the Video it shouldn't be "I have surrendered myself" instead it should be "I devoted myself".
My country 🇩🇪🥺
My heart ❤..... that's so beautiful
Wow. Beautiful. Not patriotic as mine, but nonetheless, Beautiful.
It reminds me a lot this as the Western counterpart of Auferstanden aus Ruinen, which also captured my heart
Is it weird that I understood 80% of this despite not actually knowing German?
Yes, because there is english subtitles

No, I mean by just what they are saying; I did not read the English subtitles.
Interesting timing since it's Hitler's Birthday today
Til, another anthem channel is a cryptonazi
How is the Font called that you used in the Thumbnail?
Was this the same song sang by the people when the Berlin Wall fell?
interesting
hmm..
I actually think it's better than Deutschlandlied. Not even musically, Haydn definitely knew what he was doing, but it is associated with the Austrian painter 1933-1945 period, so replacing it would have been a better idea. Same with making the "Anthem of Free Russia" used in Kerensky's Russian Republic the modern anthem instead of just rewriting the words to a clearly communist anthem.
It sounds like "Es ist wieder März geworden".
Danke für den Hinweis!
