That Fort Courage (3:07) was a tourist trap where travelers could tour the fort set used for the old F-Troop TV show. Not sure if it is really where the TV show was shot, but that was the claim. It was still in business in the mid 70's when my family drove through there on a cross country vacation. The restaurant at 4:24 looks like it was originally a Van de Camps Restaurant, which were a short lived chain run by the Van de Camp's Holland Dutch Bakery that sold pre-made pastries in grocery stores. The peak on the roof would have originally had a windmill mounted on it. The last remaining unit with the working windmill is in Arcadia.

In the middle 1950’s through the 1960’s I used to go to Arizona every other year to see relatives. Route 66 was the only way to get there. The old trestle bridges were so narrow, especially considering the size of the cars then. I can remember the Interstate Transportation Agency building I20, in the’50’s, and I10, in the mid ‘60’s. The Interstate killed a lot of businesses.
