Really good video, enjoyed it, i like the fact you are not constantly cutting the video as you are talking, it's much better to just do it in real time.

Great vid, and exactly what I do minus slowing down the track.
Another tip when playing back the track near the end of programming, I like to cut out everything under around 1000hz of the reference track to play against my drum track to see if it sounds right.

Haha! Good to know I've been programming drums for my covers and all the right way! I'm also a drummer so I definitely know the confidence you're talking about.. anyways, loved the video as all ways!

I really like OKW: Metal but one thing I think it’s lacking is a built in snare bleed feature (or maybe even for other parts of the kit as well)
I’m currently experimenting with adding an extra layer of realism by manually mixing in some bleed on the snare, hi-hat and tom tracks but it would be cool if it was an integrated feature in the software like in M&M for example.
    Keep the awesome content coming!
    Cheers from Bulgaria!🍻

OKW Metal is so Metal it kills my computer. I think there's some internal bugs because P4 and Modern and Massive run great on my computer even in High Quality mode but man this kit kills my CPU

@@matthewmessner1105 I’d say my PC is above average and I haven’t experienced anything like that so far. Have you tried with a different version of Kontakt or maybe a different folder for the sample library?
I’m doing it the same way as Nolly - printing all the separate raw tracks to audio and then processing them which has its pros and cons but is ultimately much more CPU friendly.

@@EXPLICITBG I have. I’m up to date on Kontakt, full version and have my samples on NVMe drive. I’ve tried a standard ssd and my main os drive. I do print afterwards but even when writing and using a few instances of Zilla cabs and this I have to freeze my tracks

@@matthewmessner1105 Hmm… I haven’t tried using it with other plugins and amp sims as my “pre-production” files use EZ drummer just as a placeholder and I havw a separate drum project for each song where I refine and print the drum tracks. Maybe you can try a similar workflow?

great video . Inspired to try this to some of my favourite drums in songs to learn how to program drums infernal as i’ve bought 3 packs from ggd but yet to utilise them as this is fairly new to me 🤦‍♂️ , this method would be great for learning how to program more realistic style drums as i’m a guitar player , I hope i get better with time ! thanks for the video and the very useful tips and things to look out for , i shall be doing this daily 😅

But not everyone uses logic so he showed a tool everyone can use.

There is! Figured I'd show how to do it without that functionality incase you don't have that feature in your DAW. Plus - it's really satisfying finding it and locking it in...! - Joe

@@GetGoodDrums yeah i figured, but u know since you are using logic maybe drop some logic tips too in these vids. Would have helped me out a lot when I started using logic
