The Personal Problem Ray [TC2]

- most of the time i'd put some one liner joke in my description,
but i'd actually like to note down a few things about the video here for the handful of people that read these, in no real order of course.
there's gonna be a lot of words, so i get if you don't care. it's nothing important, just fun facts.
production timeline:
script file created: 1/11/24
(thought of the idea a little bit before the clipdump was finished, then wrote it in january)
recording begins (intro scene): 1/18/24
video finish date: 2/12/24
you can probably already notice a few "tiny" changes with this video compared to other videos of mine, which i wont go over them all.
for one it's shorter than others, it was planned to be short since i came up with the idea, "bite-sized" was what was written in the script.
which is also the reason why i decided just to have uncensored swearing,
mid rolls would be off because it's under 8 mins, it's more of a stylistic choice than anything and monetization is off because of the intro song anyways lol
(this doesn't mean ads wont run btw, they just don't go to me now)
this video was "finished" probably around a week or two ago. but i sat on the project for a little longer to tweak and polish it, which usually i'd only polish for a day at most.
mostly minor things that i thought about changing throughout the week, turned out much better.
more of a random fact, but my monitor began to burn in as i finished this video up, it's not like unusable or anything but still a quite dimmed in certain parts, idk thought it would be funny to mention.
also i misspelt "personal" like "peresonal" right until i went to upload this, i'm quite smart..
(had to go back on a few image files like the title and thumbnail to fix it)
i could write a whole heap more of crap here but i know i don't exactly talk about thrilling topics so whatever, i make-a the video!

Ignoring this and any other spelling mistakes that might've occurred, good video.
The target penetration stat still being listed *is* true but not on single targets (at least, that was the case the last time I used it - I'm a shotgun man so I couldn't tell you) so by technicality it's correct. But if I were to change it I'd make it be able to penetrate through single targets but only twice before it either stops dealing damage to that guy in particular or before it disappears completely.
if you mean hitting more than one player at a time, no.
maybe i should of been more clear but as soon as the pdr projectile hits anyone one time it entirely dissolves. even if 2 players stand directly inside each other, it'll still only ever hit one of them.

Honestly, I had never really bothered with this weapon all too much, never even knowing that the weapon got nerfed at all. But this isn't the first time that the TC Team has changed a weapon like this. The M249 regaining its ability to jump while the weapon is active, the Cold Shoulder's projectile getting a damage buff, and most recently the Supersaw nerf, this isn't the first time a change like this happened. I hope that the devs have learned from Valve's mistakes of constantly nerfing the Bison, because there is no reason for the weapon to function like this.
Honestly I think that is a pretty good weapon when paired with its set

I completely agree with this, the personalized death ray feels incredibly weak, I remember when it’s pierce targets stat actually worked, but now it’s a completely slow, horrible mess. I really hope they buff it in the future, and also please for the love of god, why does Rolve keep hidden stats on weapons bro 😭

The only way I use the Personal Death Ray is to combo with the charged shot of the Cow Mangler to penetrate mechanic nests from a long distance. (trust me this combo releases alot of satisfying hit sound dope mine)

the problem with bad guns is they still are mentioned in the contracts so if you get a hard soilder contract that involves multiple pdr kills you probably just recieved a disguised ticket to tc2's personal hell. And my god if thats in a tryhard lobby god luck not feeling pain every 5 seconds
A very simple way to "fix" the PDR, give it some other utility, for example let it ignite targets, while it isnt a perfect fix and just makes it a shittier flare gun it still makes it significantly better then the current state of the PDR,
If you want a more alternative route, make it so it temporarily slows classes down for a few seconds, giving enough time for a soldier to swap to their primary and land a direct hit (pun not intended) with their rocket launcher

I only use it because I got it as a strange drop and I feel like I need to use it lol.
But the weapon can be pretty effective. Spam it on a chokehold with a bunch of enemies and boom they are pretty low health now

PDR used to be my to-go trooper secondary before THE DAMAGING MULTIPLE TIMES ON A SINGLE TARGET UPSIDE GOT GOD FORBIDDEN REMOVED. my boy got nerfed THIS bad... they could have just decreased the damage tick of it and I will still be happy...

0:50 how did you make the rage thing stop?
I don't know if you already know this at the time I am writing this answer.
But to do it you have to first fill the rage bar, and keep it pressed with LMB (left mouse click) until when you want to activate it, just release it and you will be able to use it.
You can change weapon while you keep it pressed and you won't waste the rage (only you will have to blow the trumpet again to activate the rage).

Also: I’m pretty sure the PDR was good at spam. Why do that when you have a rocket launcher? Idk man probably the fact it’s a lil quieter.

I can confidently say, that with me dealing 5200 damage using only PDR in 1 hour (I have video evidence 7GM), this video is wrong!!!!
