    I have written my entire story I’ve been working on for 6 years I just need connections. I want nothing more than my characters to see them on the big screen

    Thanks for the information. You didn't just talk around the subject like a lot of creatives do and never really telling what is required and providing examples.

      @@vincentb1069 I discovered it would be better if I got a manager instead of an agent. A manager has more pull and access than an agent does. That's the rout I'm taking.

    What should I tell when i pitch story?
    Should i tell all? Or just a little pitch...

    • @ScriptReaderProLosAngeles
      @ScriptReaderProLosAngeles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! We recommend to give a smaller pitch vs. an extended one that gives the exec an overall picture without having to detail the plot. If you focus more on characters, theme, and the journey, you'll see better results. Best of luck!

    Thanks for all the great info, but I have a problem putting fresh new ideas and stuff out, because there are thousands of none creative people (in the industry) just waiting to rip it off. Dealt with this in the art industry and it happens all the time.

    • @ScriptReaderProLosAngeles
      @ScriptReaderProLosAngeles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lucus, sorry to hear that you have encountered those who have used your creative ideas. Our best advice would be to really do the research on companies before you share your screenplays with them. Hope that helps and happy writing!

    • @Antigone-yp6ht
      @Antigone-yp6ht 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sucks. I am working on several ideas. First thing I did was register the idea with WGA and also had it copyrighted. I also created a three-issue comic book at the same time I wrote the screenplay. I did this before sharing with my friends, etc. I only shared with friends who liked comics. I was selective. Now I am also looking into other avenues like cartoons, etc. Get your work published first as a comic, graphic novel, or short story before doing anything else, so those jerks cannot rip you off. It's more protected this way.

    • @ScriptReaderProLosAngeles
      @ScriptReaderProLosAngeles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hi Cole! As Julien mentioned in the video, a lot of networks unfortunately do not accept unsolicited material. We recommend working toward trying to attract and agent or manager first who can submit your project. More helpful ways in which you can do so are on our website!

      Its like the whole system is designed to keep new writers OUT! Networks/production co's wont accept unsolicited scripts - get an agent we are told - agents wont accept you as an un produced writer. Its a vicious circle that is VERY hard to break.

      It depends what country you live in, as copyright is different from country to country. For example copyright in Australia is automaticly protected and no further action is nessasary, BUT adding your name, copyright symbol, date created and sending copies to other people as witness will help protect your work. Purchasses to protect copyright can help but is not nessasary in Australia.

    The only reason I’m here is to try and find out how to hire a agent that has ties to Netflix, Hulu or HBO because without that you can’t even pitch your story or animated show so this should have been listed as STEP 1!!

    Take a breath next time. You would be better off speaking at a slower, easier pace. This is such a barrage of info you cannot possibly take it all in without pausing and replaying over and over.

      Then instead of controlling how someone speaks? Hit "pause" on your end. Then replay as YOU need. I prefer the pace here. Some of the pace comes from regional standards. Slower than this pace? I would skip it. It's easier for you to pause ⏸
