It's a June rig here in southern Ontario Canada. Don't stop making the great videos. Always have info that i can use and have learned to read new lakes from you
Excellent content as usual, Randy. Thank you! Some TH-camrs say wacky rigged stick baits are best in calm, clear, tough conditions. I prefer wind and head to a windy, choppy bank. Nothing like a 6lb bass on light spinning gear to get the juices flowing.
Always appreciate your technique videos, Randy! Thank you! Hit the pond this Easter afternoon with a 1/16 ounce shaky head in clear water and some winds. The pond and no boat gives me a few variations from your straight method to deploy, but I sure enjoy the tips for my fishing strategies!
wish i could afford to get your merch. SS don't pay enough. Thanks for the vids. As a 66 yr old i still learn everyday from them. Keep up the good work.
AWESOME TIPS Mr Randy, one of my things I intend to do this year is to stop 100% power fishing and slow down. I love these 2 opinions CANT WAIT to put them to work THANKS AND KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK WITH YOUR CHANNEL
Great video and I do remember most of these tricks from earlier videos, this is a really great setup and thanks for sharing this with us Randy!! Your videos are awesome!!
Got back into bass fishing about 18 months ago and had never fished a wacky rig before, without that rig I wonder how many less bass I would have caught in this 18 months. LOVE THE WACKY RIG!!!!!! I have good luck with Yum dingers, caught 4 in about 3 hours yesterday morning in water with ZERO visibility. MUDDY as could be, 2 were 3lbs. I agree no 'O' ring, use heat shrink wrap, yes will take a little time and planning but worth it. Also to make them sink faster if I think that is needed I use a small pinch lead either just above the hook or maybe short carolina rig it for different look. One thing I also notice is the strike comes immediately, sure I get some bites shaking it as I work it back but most bites come pretty quickly.
I spent a Summer fishing those Zoom Finesse 4" worms on a wacky rig. They fall oh so slow but, that worm flaps like a bird! As for the shaky head, I've caught a few on it but, I prefer the ZMan Big TRD for my bottom fishing.
Quality seminar Randy. Really enjoyed this one. I think this format is your sweet spot. I respectfully don’t agree that all screw locks are worse. There are some that are small and soft wire that don’t affect hookups. I also like throwing a heavy shaky head but that’s a different less finesse style. Happy Easter!
Thanks for the great video Randy. You're one of the few pros who talk about using redbug colored plastics. Since you're a Zoom guy as well, what's your thoughts on California 420 color?
Interesting…. I had no idea the pro’s were that against the wacky o-ring. I don’t have a problem not using one….not in the least. I’m just surprised to hear why. If it gets me more bites, I’m willing to trying about anything.
No shade towards John Cox at all, dude is a complete stud angler but IMO David Dudley would give him a challenge in fishing a wacky rig! Either way it's such a killer technique for so many angler's right now
I wouldn’t say better as I prefer the Texas rig, but different because of the bottom presentation of the soft plastic sticking up off the bottom rather than laying flat
Randy an excellent video. Sizes + best colors + right depths + weight. + water visibility . You mentioned everything for all us anglers. Many thanks.
Thanks Randy love the seminars you do and appreciate all your hard work

Randy they have wacky o rings that u can hook the bait parallel OR perpendicular
facts
Thanks!
Thx Calvin!

VMC has a crossover collar which eliminates the issue you describe
Tight lines, Master Baiters🤘🏻
the perpendicular vs in-line wacky rigging with a collar is solved with VMC crossover rings...beside that great information as always. Thanks.
Works, even cheaper is crisscrossing two cheap O rings from Amazon, hook is perpendicular with that also.
@@Michdave700 Right, I use both methods and both work great 🙂
Great tips thanks RANDY 😊 👍
Thanks Randy , I agree with the rings .
Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge Randy. I enjoy watching your videos, even though you don’t like FFS. Still love you!!!
I’ve caught more smallmouth on a shaky head using a 4” pb&j zman finesse worm than any other color! They can’t get enough of the pb&j!
Great video, thanks for sharing!
I use a shrink wrap clear tube for wacky that way I can hook it through like normal.
I like fishing a stick bait Texas rigged for fliping and pitching and wacky too.
Thanks a lot

Vielen Dank, Randy!
Great stuff....still having trouble with using straight fluorocarbon....I wonder if it's the reel?
No straight fluorocarbon sucks it has way to much memory. Great for leaders

That would be a cool competition to see. Wacky rig only for both of them, on a lake that sets up right for it
@@jesseboyden3119 that would be cool to see!
Cox would come out on top. He's been dialed in and just gets better. It seems every since dudley got sick he hasn't been the same
Don't for Jesse Wiggins or Casey
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Randy do you ever add a bullet weight to the wacky/straight shank setup and snell the hook? Like one might do with a flipping setup.
They make a weighted wacky hook that I’ve had a ton of success using around submerged bushes and docks.
I got rid of all the ones I had that had screwys
owner makes the best weedless heads
What colors do you like for the wackey rig in clear water?
Honestly when I use an I ring, I lose more baits. I think it’s way better to just hook it through the middle.
Where do I order the shaky head ?
I bought me some of those Davis shakey heads
Randy thanks for the info. Also you are always patient and understanding with your son. Good parenting.
How is a shakey head any better than a Texas rig with the same weight and bait?
I wouldn’t say better as I prefer the Texas rig, but different because of the bottom presentation of the soft plastic sticking up off the bottom rather than laying flat
He doesn't lose any fish but he loses 20$ worth of zooms every time he fishes.
Great info Randy- good video
That owner screw head is an amazing rig though
Thanks!
Thx man!
