I service heavy industrial machinery andI have a customer that grinds wood waste into garden mulch and they have a grinder that can handle 6 telephone pole at once, powered by a 400hp electric motor. This shop made machine is quite impressive.
Pretty cool i am a retired Woodworker who has had very little metal working or welding experience personally for some unknown reason ive found watching videos of you guys fabricating fascinating and therapeutic to watch more specifically machining on the lathe ? I suffered a major stroke years ago and i no longer have the ability to use my hands as i once did throughout my life making furniture and doing wooden boat restorations and repairs i actually do have very good freinds that own and operate a machine shop and i get the chance to stop by and see things operating in the shop ! Of course i will also give them a helping hand moving or reorganizing if they need the help in order to learn more they of course have utilized modern machinery for production Like CNC and Water Jet tooling similar to most Cabinet shops needing to utilize similar Machinery to increase production in the woodworking
Love it! Be careful though, chainsaw chain is designed to spin a lot slower than that. I would put a chip catcher or make a metal bin that the chips fly into so if a chain breaks, it is contained instead of flying across the room at 18k rpm:)
Had to go back a couple of times to watch that big chunk of C section flexing in the vice. Grinder certainly makes a good power source, now how about a geared down one for a bandsaw like Matthias Wandel's?
I saw that too. In fact i though in the vice building video that may be an issue. They have to box that C section for sure, potentially replace it with a solid bar.
Great stuff!! One suggestion if I may :) Adding adjustable curved plate on hinge instead fixed one could add to various feed rate in various thicknesses material shredded. And possibly eliminate the need to add a somewhat unnecessary complicated pre feed rollers... Keep up the good work!
"Notifications" are the worst idea since *_Windows ME_* . I turned them off for everything long ago, and use the subscription notice emails. *_THAT_* WORKS...
Some flaws: -The gap between the blades and wall should be adjustable in this design, otherwise it may not shred small/big branches -Use induction motor ! The angle grinder has universal motor with brushes. Those are not meant to be run for extended periods of time and wear out relatively quickly. I quite like how it's solid and strong though. Thumbs up. Alex
Through the first half of the video I'm thinking "what the hell is he making?" But then I literally said out loud "OH! A MINI BRUSH CHIPPER! Genius!" I'll have to make one of these, I do tree work for a living. This could come in handy
OK, if you are into this, here's a challenge for you: I've always wanted to know how to design and build a "Kindling machine". Input are normal seasoned fire logs. 16", full round. Eventually I'd want to have this machine work over hydraulics, as this can work over time, which is great for non-electrical applications. The target goal would have the following dimensions: length: 4-6" (10-16 cm) diameter: 1-2" (3-6 cm) These sticks would be optimal for a Rocket Stove. If you have any ideas, I'd love to see what you could come up with.
This is the best value for money system! There is nothing better ! changing the chains is easy, the process is simple and inexpensive! on the other hand, I would rather have put 2 cylinders in opposite rotation, as roller mills do! the efficiency would have been at the top!
Pretty much, for a good starter workshop all you need is a hammer, good pair of pliers, screwdrivers and wrenches, an angle grinder and a cheap stick welder. Anyone that has these tools and is not doing crap because they "don't have the right equipment", are just making up excuses not to get their hands dirty.
How many hands do you have? I can only use one at a time! I keep the one I'm using and one spare. They have an annoying tendency to break at the most inopportune moments. Apparently, this is a lesser known one of Murphy's Laws' Corollaries.
you gave me a great idea for my backyard woodworking ship. I've been thinking on building a wide drum sander to finish wood for scrollsawing. Just could not figure what to power it with, I do have a bosh grinder I don't use (kind of in forced retirement due to health issue). Probably start build end of this week.
Dude way awesome I think I need to make one my harbor freight (USA) chipper is ok but this has real guts. Think I will scale it up a bit tho maybe larger motor or grinder anyway.
Sorry for my bad english, I use dr google translator. Hello friends, I am from Venezuela, I congratulate you for such good machines, and such an excellent job. I hope some day to do something similar. The question is, can you, in the form of information, make a pulverizing mill, since its techniques are very good.
Cool idea dudes.. needs some way of slowing the throughput to get some control of particulate size... big chunks with a fast rate of feed, and fine dust when it goes through slow... something like a pair of sprung rollers at base of hopper that put the brakes on and slow the amount of time it takes to process the piece.
It does not appear that these chains are bound together so some are going to just naturally stagger themselves. And while you're building the chain sets, build a spare so you can sharpen the set that is not in the machine.
Great job man!!! I like what you do with the saw blade in your chop saw, I tried it a few day ago on a piece of 2 1/2" round rod mild steel I had to cut worked great on the first cut but would not cut the second one for me, the blade was shot (it was a used blade). So I was wondering how long does a blade last you?
Really cool project, but it doesn't look like its doing a good job. Maybe add a steel mesh screen with .5-1 " holes in them so old small things can go through. That grinder would really be working then! I really wanted to see the grinder get bogged down a little :)
I ferment and make hard Apple Cider, and I would KILL to have this thing to use to grind up apples to be pressed!!!! It takes me all afternoon to grind them by hand. This thing looks like it could do the whole job in 15 min. I am so jealous!
I'm fascinated by projects like these. Primarily because people can find the time to innovate Personally, in the time it would take to manage the materials and process each design, it would be more worth it to me to rent a chipper. So it wouldn't quite be a life hack in my case Interesting way to make use of an old motor though
With time and materials you could have just bought a small wood chipper. That angle grinder isn't going to stand up to repeated high torque loads like that. It's made to go fast with little resistance. You need a nice single phase or even 3 phase motor on that to make it be able to shred anything of significance. Great job on the build though.

I've smoked a few grinders trying to make custom attachments for them, this worked surprisingly well.
i think when something weights under 10 kg its not made from you :D
The heavier it is, the more turned on I get.
Hand Tool Rescue, I was pretty hot under the collar for the gas-powered circular saw you brought back to life.
that was really cool.
Yes!! Amen to that. Just saw that gas powered circular saw revival vid the other day. Bad ass!!
I know right!? He must have piles of 22 and 24 gauge sheet metal.... Just cant figure out what he can use it for.
Anyone else just loves watching videos of people just building things? Brings me back to the good ol' days of iron man
I love it when they use the previous creations to create something new! It's so fascinating to watch.....
ακομα μια φοβερη κατασκευη! και πολυ χρησιμη για οποιον ασχολειται με ξυλα και του μενουν φύρες!
Was I the only one who wanted to see a 2x4 go through it?
no, i ve waited for that too but he didnt
Yeah, it would have made short work of it no doubt. Wish he HAD shoved a chunk of 2X4 down there.
Summer's Woodworking 2x4 Challenge entry: shred a 2x4.
A new TH-cam trend is born.
jawawookie Do you Remember the ripsaw tracked vehicle that howe & howe tech made that jamb a 2×4 in the tracks and it shredded up like it was nothing!
Durk Kush I thought so too!
Your metal fabrication skills are amazing dude !!!! Love watching your videos.
Love it! Be careful though, chainsaw chain is designed to spin a lot slower than that. I would put a chip catcher or make a metal bin that the chips fly into so if a chain breaks, it is contained instead of flying across the room at 18k rpm:)
Nice, now you just need an angle grinder shop vacuum to clean up the mess and you're all set!
I LOVE The Angle grinder Hacks 👍
One more great making from the great makers! Cool idea (and cool music) Bravo guys!!!
Had to go back a couple of times to watch that big chunk of C section flexing in the vice. Grinder certainly makes a good power source, now how about a geared down one for a bandsaw like Matthias Wandel's?

Matt Tester Time mark?
from 3:33
The C section at 2:38.
Oh i see we were talking about different C section. I spotted the bending in the self made vice.
You need to re-do this build and have a second grinder right next to it so there are 2 rotating assemblies! Lets see that build!
Great work.
Great stuff!! One suggestion if I may :) Adding adjustable curved plate on hinge instead fixed one could add to various feed rate in various thicknesses material shredded. And possibly eliminate the need to add a somewhat unnecessary complicated pre feed rollers... Keep up the good work!
best channel in youtube
excelent...another great job.....go on and on...I learn a lot from your works...MakeItExtreme....!!! From Buenos Aires....Argentina.
When you get the notification while your watching the video...
Good job TH-cam.
You're*
Then stop using notifications and look at your subscription list. Like people did for years and it worked fine...
Also got twin notifications, on the top and on the bottom (chrome).

The most extreme A.G. hack ever!!
MAKE IT EXTREME RULES ....... YOU GUYS ROCK .... AWESOME .... !!!

Nice salad maker! For all the veggies out there

Another awesome angle grinder hack, THANKS MIE!
angle grinders are apparently an alternative medicine cure-all for the garage...i never knew...!!
Pretty much, for a good starter workshop all you need is a hammer, good pair of pliers, screwdrivers and wrenches, an angle grinder and a cheap stick welder.
Anyone that has these tools and is not doing crap because they "don't have the right equipment", are just making up excuses not to get their hands dirty.
you mean angle grinder(s)
You mean there are people out there with only One angle grinder in their tool kits? Poor Bastards
How many hands do you have? I can only use one at a time! I keep the one I'm using and one spare. They have an annoying tendency to break at the most inopportune moments. Apparently, this is a lesser known one of Murphy's Laws' Corollaries.
Nice Hack. Wonderful videos, I am great fan of your work.
Inventive minds at work again. Nice job. How do you guys come up with these ideas?
I'm pretty sure that, I don't have anything, that I need to make one of these. 🤔💭
you gave me a great idea for my backyard woodworking ship. I've been thinking on building a wide drum sander to finish wood for scrollsawing. Just could not figure what to power it with, I do have a bosh grinder I don't use (kind of in forced retirement due to health issue). Probably start build end of this week.
wow. now i have to go buy some thick round steal, drill press, and a big lathe. cool!
That would make one hell of a food processor. Great video.
Awesome, I really like those angle grinder hacks!
Another cool video! Great camera work and editing. You are pretty good with that lathe also!
The vice grip is one of the best tool I seen fabricated.
64th invention well done great videos
Next week! An OTT shop vac to clean up the mess we made!
I bet that angle grinder has paid for itself 10 times fold. Great work really gives me a good pastime
Looks like something a sadist would use to get rid of a body in a horror movie. Just Wicked!
Great film . Looks like Good thriller .Good Job
This channel is so therapeutic. Congratulations
You should put apples in it to make apple Juice/Cider.
Awesome video guys! And great camera work! And the editing is great.
Big love from Israel! :)
Another cool project! Just wondering if the cutter head has to much mass for the grinder. They are known for being much in the torque department?
Impressive build
Hi Congratulations for your excellent work, one question is that they may be able to build a plastic chipper like those used for recycling. Thank you
Your videos are so awesome man! Keep up the good work! 😃👌👌
Giggles :) Always fun to see what you'll build next :)
Would like details on the MIG Welder you guys are using. Any recommendations out there for a mid range MIG for hobby use?
Hello
Very nice work and it looks very effective !!!!
Thank you for sharing
Quase todos os dias eu vejo se tem vídeo novo de vocês... quando aponta uma atualização eu largo tudo que estou fazendo para olhar ... parabéns
Dude way awesome I think I need to make one my harbor freight (USA) chipper is ok but this has real guts. Think I will scale it up a bit tho maybe larger motor or grinder anyway.
again a very nice video 😀
Alternative title - How to Build a Nightmare!
Haha this looks sick!
Sorry for my bad english, I use dr google translator.

nice Video :D i like the metal mashine
Hello! I'm from Russia. I watch with great pleasure your videos. Very like. You're cool! I have a request for you - make an unusual acoustic system
Man, your devices are great!
make it extreme You have so good things.
i never knew an humble angle grinder can be used in this may ways!!!
I see this and think what's safe about this... then I think what's unsafe about this😂
Dang this wouldn't even need to be an angle grinder hack, it could be a full blown shredder with a higher powered motor!
clever & genius idea, good work
if you stagger the teeth it wont jam as quick on thicker cuts. Nice job!
Frontierless Craftsman
yeah but chain saw gets dull fast.
It does not appear that these chains are bound together so some are going to just naturally stagger themselves. And while you're building the chain sets, build a spare so you can sharpen the set that is not in the machine.
Where you been, brother?
dude you are really a master
love your work and keep 🛠🔩🔨🔧
nice and original. thanks for sharing.
Love it, I had the same idea , it would be difficult to resharpen.
Or use a bunch of saw blades.
Good job as usual!
this is genius! I want to mount this with a chute directly to my compostable waste trash bin
Great job man!!!
I like what you do with the saw blade in your chop saw, I tried it a few day ago on a piece of 2 1/2" round rod mild steel I had to cut worked great on the first cut but would not cut the second one for me, the blade was shot (it was a used blade). So I was wondering how long does a blade last you?

can you make biscuit jointer using an angle grinder ???
I think that should be the next angle grinder hack #7
"I made a thing"
"What does it do?"
"fuckin wrecks"
Hahahaha! 👍😂😂😂 How do you sharpen or replace the chains though!? Hahaha! This was great! 👍😂
That's one heck of a salad shooter!!
I ferment and make hard Apple Cider, and I would KILL to have this thing to use to grind up apples to be pressed!!!! It takes me all afternoon to grind them by hand. This thing looks like it could do the whole job in 15 min. I am so jealous!
Garden shredder works well for apples ;)
just put a belt drive on your hand press. You can buy the kits.
Heh. Until the last little bit of the video I thought he was making a planer. This is pretty cool though!
Great video
Tell the brand of your saw for metal?
LOVE YOUR WORK KEEP IT UP...
love watching your vids!! cant wait for each new one!!! your a fricking genius!!!!!!

Interesting way to make use of an old motor though
Great job. Just one question. Was there any risk of kickback?
Henry Monroy just use safety glasses and you are probably fine.
extreme assembly of extreme disassembler :D well done as usual!
Nice work bro

Yeah he just made a portable wood chipper ! XD
wow another amazing angle grinder hack !
I wish I had a lathe ! :p
You guys should make a Battlebot... with a drum spinner...
make it even bigger!!
j'adore t'ai vidéos elles sont superbes continue comme sa ;)
Awesome! can't wait to see more :)
Your skill so great! Cool idea and high quality video montage, like always! =)
AMAZING! Thanks for the video!
ya know for those times you want your angle grinder to be a mini wood chipper
