The Xtreme is better for thumping party music that can get LOUD while the Marshall is better for higher quality sounding music that has a room-filling stereo effect. Go with the JBL if you’re into loudness and party vibes and go with the Marshall if you’re into clarity and high-quality audio with a nice deep bass.
I just bought the marshal Stockwell 2 and I'm really happy with it. It's portable and has a loud sound good base and everything about it is great :) if you want something portable thus us the speaker for you.
jbl xtreme is setup louder here. on the saame volume, the marshall sounds better to me, because of the indirectional sound which spreads wider and the bit of reverb effect. also sounds better in treble and could be more adjusted on the speaker itself, which the xtreme 2 does not offer
I did my best to level match. The Marshall is hard to record since it is a bipolar design speaker with front and back drivers. That reverb effect you mentioned makes some songs sound terrible on the Marshall.
I think the JBL is more true to the recordings. The Stockwell has an over processed sound. Sometimes it sounds good, then on other songs it's terrible.
Possibly it might have been a good move to show which is which

How should we know which is which?
JBL Extreme is first one to play. I'm going to be adding subtitles later.

The Stockwell 2 is the only speaker I’ve ever owned that I refuse to sell
