    Making the border crossing from Cambodia to Laos by Bus should be as easy as the Thailand to Cambodia Border crossing. Unfortunately it isn't quite as streamlined.
    The Border Crossing from Cambodia is quite easy, although there is an expectation of additional "fees" to be paid in cash for a stamp in the passport. And getting from Cambodia to Laos by Bus is also not too difficult, although it does require walking through no-mans land.
    We started our trip in Phnom Penh and took a very long local bus to Stung Treng. This was relatively painless except for a very below average rest-stop. Then we were extremely lucky and found some fellow travellers to help us find a bus to Laos and a place to stay for the night.
    Once we were at Laos Immigration the Cambodia to Laos journey was almost over however there was the large visa fee to pay and some further stamping fees before we found our way to a dilapidated people carrier to carry us down the bumpy dirt track.
    Finally the Border Crossing Cambodia to Laos was over, we were at the port ready to get to the 4,000 islands and we boarded a cheap ferry across the quickly rising and extremely treacherous Mekong River. We were very happy to get off that boat and finally check in.

      I'd be very happy to give you guys tips. Philippines is known for beaches, you gotta visit Cebu city Kawasanan falls & Swimming with the whale sharks its actually very affordable. And from cebu take a 3-4 hr boat ride to dumaguete for Kalanggaman Island or manjuyod sand bar. Ofcourse you should not miss Boracay Island and El nido or coron palawan. You can email me if you want recommendations on where to stay etc. Id be very happy to help. Happy travelling guys

    Walk, a tuk tuk ride, a 10 hour bus journey, an overnight stay, a mini bus ride, bribing both sides of the border, another mini bus ride, a perilous boat trip along a swollen river in windy conditions and finally a long walk. Those islands better be worth it! :D

    • @RobandJenny
      @RobandJenny  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! It was a LOOONNNG journey. The next few videos will show whether it was worth it! It was 😜

    How much you have to pay under table in cambodia and loas

    • @RobandJenny
      @RobandJenny  ปีที่แล้ว

      In Laos they made us pay 2USD for a "stamping fee" 🙃
      We did not get any cheeky fees when crossing into Cambodia from Thailand.

    I’m not really a big fan of Koh Rong. In my opinion the beach was mediocre and infrastructure was terrible. But I guess it depends on person as I’ve seen many people who came for a short trip but ended up settling down there ever since.

    Not much difference to the boat ride you had in Kerala. Obviously Kerala one is a luxury one.

    • @RobandJenny
      @RobandJenny  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Kerala one was definitely more luxurious haha. But similar scenery!

    Absolutely hate that tactic at the border. It's unethical no matter what anyone says.

    • @RobandJenny
      @RobandJenny  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree! The money doesn't matter just the principle!
