He was a hero. It must have been scary given how lightly armored the boats were, but also amazing to be on such an agile boat. I wish the Vietnam veterans had been given the appreciation they deserved.
Thanks for the suggestion mate. Most genuine Vietnam footage was recorded without sound. The sound we hear in documentaries is 95% added in post-production. But I still should have found some genuine audio of a PBR in Vietnam and included it. Cheers for the tip 👍
Thanks mate, the song is 'Wipeout' by the Surfaris in 1963. From what I've read it was quite popular with the troops in Vietnam. Thanks for watching the videos and I'm glad you're enjoying them. That was very nice of you to say. The veterans and war cameramen did the hard part. I hope we can all remember Vietnam and the sacrifices made by so many Vietnamese, Americans, Australians and many more.
My Dad was on one of these in 68-69. Never talked about it. After he died I found his DD214. He was awarded the Bronze and Silver Star in Vietnam.

Oh that boat was perfect for a flame projector. Daaaamn. Never seen that before
Being on the receiving end of that would suck
These are needed on the southern Texas border.....
I don't think there are many places to use a PBR all along the border.
Racist!
wish this video had the sound of the boats
