The fleet has been officially replaced, but M trains from other lines can still operate on the Kwun Tong Line as backup if necessary, though this only happened once so far. You can tell by the PSD/APG stickers still showing M train stickers

I’m sure they can run there… I saw some M train at the depot at Siu Wan Ho but they are there to be scrapped

而家KBD這7抽2A代M-Train 會喺TKL終老退役，到KTL換信號要短暫用M-Train 時已全換了有新信號的2C/3代M-Train
We got word from an MTR press on Aprill 11 that the DRL M Trains are also getting the boot
I have now read that the Disneyland trains are also up for replacement.

而家KBD這7抽2A代主力行全程TKL同借比ISL/TWL行走，直至終老退役都不會重返KTL常規載客服務
最唔習慣都係油塘調景嶺兩綫都係共用m train 宜家只可以行地底 有啲唔慣
就算冇得再行觀塘綫，荃灣綫同港島綫有地上路段嘅
其實康城站都有少少露天只係9號風球無停駛不過曾有議員批評呢段露天露段無停駛而同樣情況下屯馬綫紅磡站反而需停駛，質疑其實明明屯馬綫需求高D，不過港鐵只係慳料唔想錄往荃灣西列車嘅港鐵化廣播。
35:12 KTL 和TKL同時出M-train 好罕見，唯一一次見過就係繁時TKL 北角往康城班次出現過一次但TKL 往康城嘅M-train 在油塘站開門時,一列KTL往黃埔嘅M-train 正關門，下一班KTL 往何文田是Q-train 。
現時沒有例外了😢
