18-23 should become again the target age for marriage and first child. Like, have some government programs to incentivize this, like +$250 every month no questions asked per child born in that age range or something

Non-starters like this just-throw-money-at-it are part of the problem! $3000 a year won't move the needle one bit when the fundamental society is disincentivizing starting a family in time.

I think there's multiple reasons that have all taken their toll on western birth rates from pollutants, ideology the economy and government policy.

Don't forget the pill and feminism.

Feminism is a major factor in birth rates plummeting. A lot of women in the near future will be victims of unplanned childlessness and it’s gonna be a painful reality because they can’t rewind the clock or their fertility window. It’s gonna be a fascinating period for demographers, sociologists and Data Scientists studying this topic in the future. And no country has ever successfully reversed their population decline. Morgan Stanley predicts by year 2030 45% of women between the ages of 25 to 44 will be single, unmarried and childless, that’s gonna be tough tanks to feminism

@@minavanderleest9493 In his recent interview with Triggernometry he was asked about the pill's contributions to this issue. Said it doesn't seem to a cause whatsoever, he cited how Japan didn't have an approved pill until the 90's yet the drop began decades prior

@@kebobezlarington6159the pill and policy, all of that is downstream of culture. Culture creates the people that end up in government it creates the people who become the ideologues and these are the people that set the regulations, and create drugs like birth control.
All of these things are downstream of culture. And that’s what needs to be tackled. The cultural belief that it’s normal to be selfish and fulfill all YOUR wants in your early years is what needs to be flipped. Your time on this planet isn’t about YOU. It’s about what you leave behind.
