Thanks for featuring my AC15! I’ve got more captures I’m working on too. I’ve A-B’d with the real head plenty and they’re basically identical. NAM really does it justice! Now I can be lazy and just load NAM instead of hooking it up haha. TB is Top Boost by the way. And I did take pictures of the knobs for these captures and I’m happy to share if anyone wants them.
Thank you for doing all this work! I love the AC15 pack (I've used it plenty of times before this too). Glad it is on the last! Looking forward to seeing what else you are working on 🙏
Hi Matt I am interested in the pics of the settings. Can you upload them as part of the NAM zip file on TH? Or should I PM you my email on FB?
Thanks
Brian
07:13 throw a boss SD1 to boost that JCM 800 ZW profile and it will do high gain just fine :)
You are right! I should have thrown one on while testing 🙃
Great video. Thank you, Steven.
Great comment. Thank you, Carlos 🙏
Emil makes really nice captures. I got his SLO30. Sounds great.
Yes! Emil kills it and is a great guitarist
I have a couple of spring reverb captures from this amp. Highly recommend the stereo version. Fender twin spring in stereo is shockingly good with this amp imho.
Yeah? Nice! I don't think I've actually played a guitar amp in stereo. I'll have to try it out 👍
Thanks for this. I have a question. Don't you take into account the info some "presets" have about the input level?
If your interface has 12dBu instrument inputs:
18.86-12 = 6.86, you have to LOWER the input in NAM Plugin to -6.86 dB for the capture to sound correct.
You always have the input level at 0
I have not messed with the input level. It's something I have to look into! Thanks
The Jazz Chorus has always been popular with progressive type music. Like Yes, and Rush to name a few. What makes it great IRL is the sweet chorus built into it.
Nice! NAM can't capture that yet
Hi, im new to neural amp modeler, and im confused about importing impulse responses because NAM doesn support .wav files, how do i fix this problem?
It should in the IR section. 1 NAM profile, 1 IR. If not, you can add another IR loader after NAM. This js great if you want to do multiple IRs anyway
Peavy Invective by SinMix 🎉🎉 ...so full sound for Modern Metal.. awesome!!
Oh snap! That sounds awesome 👌 I gotta check it out
I have a question , not a tech guy. I downloaded a few files from tone hunt, they are zipped files. How can I convert them to my PC to actually use?
You will have to "extract" them. I recommend making a "new folder" wherever you want the profiles, then going to the zip folder, right click, "extract," and pick that new folder as the destination. I'm and no techie, but essentially the zip files are compressed so you have to extract then to uncompress them. Then, try loading the extracted files in the new folder. Good luck 👍
@@stevenkambach Thanks will try that
Can you please explain, how to use the neural amp modeler as a pream in front of a "real" poweramp?
If you are using a computer you will need an interface. Go out from the interface into the power amp (you may have to adjust levels because out of the interface is usually a line level signal). Another options is to get one of those new DIMEHEAD Electronics NAM Player Pedals and run that into the power amp. Good luck 👍
Anyone happen to know why the Fender Twin Pack isn't outputting anything for me?
All the other NAMs i tried worked just fine, but both from that pack just stay silent.
No idea. Do you have the most up-to-date NAM? That is the only thing I can think of unless the output is just low instead of silent
@@stevenkambach Yeah followed your guide yesterday and did a fresh reaper + NAM installation. I did try cranking it up but it just stays entirely muted. Weird
Dang. Sorry! Thankfully, there are plenty of other profiles out there that are similar enough. Hopefully those ones work 🙏
is nam just for heads and cabs or does it emulate effects pedals like harmonizer, d-tune, shimmer, wah, synths....etc etc ???
if not, does tonocracy do that ?
if not they are both useless to me. plus altho the software is free i see a lot of paid kits monthly subs that are very confusing for free software 🤔
NAM profiles gear. You cannot profile time or tuning based effects, you have to model them. Tonocracy has effects and can load NAM profiles. In the end, you do you ❤️
Is it realistic to use this modeler live or do the latency/pc reliability factors rule it out?
No latency / PC issues. As long as your computer is half decent you should be fine. I am not a fan of laptops for live use so I won't use it, but plenty of people do
MLC Subzero 100 - dubbub810
What impulse response we should choose?
Whatever you want! There are too many out there to recommend one tbh. There are a bunch on Tonehunt.org or you can go thru my Playlists so see some free and paid options 👍
@@stevenkambach thanks for your reply Steven?
best sounds were the ac15 and the jcm 800
You got extremely high input level. Different profiles captured with different input volume, so to find "sweetspot" you need to try different input volume values
Top of the game dude. No doubt
Thank you 🙏
Why my guitar sounds so much different than yours using the same .nam profiles?
Different Pickups, different IRs probably
Not Shocked, We're not all medal heads.
That Deluxe sounds so compressed!? Meh...That Dumble! hahaha, that is not a Dumble. Someone is trolling. I am a fan of most Dumble owners of note and their amps don't sound like that garbo...ugh...
Why does everybody seem to like high gain profiles. I personally know nobody that plays guitar like that. Clean or light crunch is way nicer since you can just go from there. SRV, jimi, Derek trucks etc like isn't that how people want to sound?
People like different things. You do you ❤️
No
It's all about the chug.
Jesus…no high end allowed . You guys need better monitoring if you think some of these sound good.
Jesus, having my own opinion on things! You do you ❤️
High end we will cut either way in mixing?
Ok Karen
