It's just amazing the number of different types and varieties of cars that people used for racecars. Also the regional differences of the types of cars used. This also brings forth a whole new world of great cars I've never seen. Growing up in the Northeast and watching for the most part coupes and coaches which morphed into Pintos, Vegas and Gremlins and most of the rest of the civilized world go off on a Late Model or Sprint Car tangent. These images are usually special to someone watching or triggers a long lost memory which it does for me quite bit. Max, you've earned a niche in the You Tube world! Great job.
My family, Grandfather, uncles and cousins raced or built cars, and as a youth, I hung out with as many people as I could, who were involved as drivers, builders, pit-men and painters. I was on a few pit crews and also hand lettered stock cars before the advent of vinyl lettering and wraps!
First pic...Ed Shulz Jr. No#9 circa 1973-74....Eriez speedway...one of my locals....also.....the 27L of Sammy LaMancuso in a 65 Ford ..Statline Speedway
Wow, wow ,wow!, Dick Trickle the white knight in the super America car!, I got to race against him once!, one helluva good guy!. Hated to see him go the way he did!, but the man had a reason!. I seen Dick Dunley Jr. In the avengers ford!. Great selection of cars!, Great video!, Great job!
@ :27 the infamous 71 GTO driven for part of a season on the Nascar circuit by David Pearson backed by "businessman" Chris Vallo, engine problems ended a promising effort. The limited edition 366 ci Pontiac engine was powerful but lacked development time (head gaskets). There was a 1/25 scale model of the car that brings big bucks now if you can find one, the body was cast clear but I painted mine purple....should have done it half and half. Pearson was reunited on this team with Ray Nichels who got Pearson his first win back in 1961 in a Pontiac at Charlotte.
Very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So many 64-65 Chevelle's just make me smile. I love those cars!
Best looking dirt late models ever
