    Quite why the algorithm decided to put a video about cat flap fitters into my feed is beyond me. BUT! I watched and to be honest, it was pretty fascinating, chucked you a sub :)

    Don't know why TH-cam decided I needed to see this, but I did. Nice jobs, didn't even know this was a thing.

    Curious why you did not go one course of bricks lower on the second installation. It looked like you had room to do so i.e 3 inches.
    If it impeded on the skirting inside a little, you could have notched out the top of the skirting with your Multitool if necessary. The cut would be hidden by the plastic internal frame.

    With all the differing materials you have to negotiate when fitting cat flaps, is your background in the building trade? How did you come to specialise in cat flaps? Is there an optimum height for a cat flap? I think it would be interesting to know. Thanks.

      Thanks for the questions. I install into all types of materials from metal to wood and most things in-between.
      Yes I have trade experience. My father was a builder/tradesman. My work as a handyman moved into full time Cat Flap fitting.
      Height wise it depends on the location of the flap, each is different. There's no optimum height so to speak. I do fit steps to help on some jobs, but cats can negotiate most things. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching

    Looking good.
    How come you started from the outside with the pilot hole in the first one? Would have though it is always easier to get the internal placement just right if you pilot from inside then continue on from outside.

      @@eddyr3691 I'll make a short explaining if you like. There are a few reasons why I'd go from the outside in, but this isn't on all jobs. The inside placement is always worked out first tho. The main reason is not to blow the brick work. Thanks

    Would it not be cleaner to core drill a hole through the wall with dust extraction?

    • @cheshirecatflapfitters
      @cheshirecatflapfitters  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sash_Window Not in this case. You need a square hole. Removing bricks is easiest and cleanest way I find.
