This is why we have so much respect for you kiwi guys. Genuine & knowledgeable fans of the game. Hurting and being honest without any malice, you rock! Doesn't matter what world ranking says , you are the other best team in the world! 10/10 would love to have a beer with you!
A lot of NZ pundits and fans are unhappy about the Savea penalty and subsequent 3 points but no one wants to talk about what was probably a knock on from Telea to Barrett's try. If a bad call gave SA 3 points, a bad call gave NZ 5 points. Tight game between 2 amazing sides and a fair result. This game wasn't won or loss by form or tactics but rather passion and pride and SA had 1 point more to give.
As a Saffa I may be biased but agree with both decisions. That was a knock on by Savea in the lead up to the disallowed try. Most refs would call it if they'd seen it. On the given Barrett try I don't think it was a knock from Telea, his hands were facing backwards and the ball initially traveled backwards. Try time and a good call
The talk about South Africans playing 'negative' rugby isn't fair. Fra & Ire scored 30 tries, RSA 27. Fra had 630 runs, Ire had 688 runs, RSA 666 runs. No one complains about Ireland and France being boring and negative even though they're largely the same. NZ are literally the only team in the world that play it the way Tony is asking us to play. Entertainment is subjective. Of the last 11 games between ABs and SA, its 5-5-1 with a 15ish point difference favouring South Africa.I love a good scrumming game much more than watching Will Jordan run in a dozen tries on Italy. NZ also had the most cards in the tournament, should we all emulate that too? Interesting side note though how a lot of the conversation isn't about how poor NZ's discipline, but rather focused on changing the laws of the game to suit their outcomes better (not a criticism of Mark or Tony this one). It's quite a laugh to be honest.
Great world cup, 48 matches ago we were watching you both being sick, (school cold and covid) just two grumpy blokes drinking tea! Losing a final stinks I am an english fan so I know feeling! But hey,.. thanks for your show and comments , keep up the fun work 👍 🍻
Guys, Barnes never said he got the Savea penalty call wrong, and he never apologised for getting it wrong. The pundits misheard him. What he said was: “sorry, I didn’t see a clear release, I didn’t see it like that.” I don’t have the link, but the NZ Herald online has an article on this, so this is not just a biased SA opinion. Barnes’ politeness is being mistaken as an apology for an incorrect decision. All he said was: I saw it differently than what you are trying to explain.
Crying about another teams style of rugby is such a cop out. The beauty of the game is teams play to their strengths and use contrasting styles. Why would we want to watch a sport when all teams are forced to play the same way. Distracted guy definitely seems a bit butt hurt.
It's a miscomception to say this is how Springboks play all the time. We scored more tries than Ireland and France in our games against them who are apparently the most attacking teams in the world. The real problem is other teams don't want to tackle. South Africans LOVE tackling, it's the unpleasant least flashy part of the game that other teams maybe need to start embracing more
In this match bokke crossed the line twice (held up first time, knocked on second), ABs crossed the line three times for one try. Hard to say SA don't play attacking rugby off the back of that stat
Truth. Tackling is a major part of the Boks defensive strategy which is a major part of their overall game strategy, while also having brought an expansive element to their game. Strategically, they got it right for the most part. Finals rugby is not about tries. The All Blacks may rue their decisions to go for the corner instead of taking the points on offer.
On the Wayne Barnes apology, he said "sorry mate I didn't see the replay," then explains why he penalized him, "not enough of a clear release for me." He was not admitting he was wrong.
So you are saying the ref apologised for not seeing a replay. How many other times during the match did he apologise to players for not seeing a replay? What a strange thing for him to say.
@@Love1Monster it’s not really, he was asking about the replay and he said he wasn’t looking at it. What’s the problem? He didn’t release, end of. It certainly didn’t decide the outcome.
The drop goal attempts served two purposes - firstly, if successful, we build the score by 3-point increments; and secondly, if missed, it kept the ball down the right end of the field and made NZ play from inside their own 22 - Boks trusted their defence to stop any attacking forays.
Also encouraged NZ to clear into touch rather than keeping the ball in play rather and giving Willemse more opportunities to go for goal. Considering the Springboks love for set piece, and desire to slow the pace of the game down, I reckon it was a pretty big brain tactic..
Call a war plan. Won 6 battles and then won the war. Anyone rinsing their mouth with vinager about SA show bad sportsmanship and really don't understand what this meant to SA the last 3 min was played with heart zero power in the tank all heart and emotion
I saw a comment referring to the fabled 2015 AB team. On a we and windswept 2015 RWC semi-final, the AB's narrowly defeated a hapless springbok team. That springbok team contain Pollard, DeAllende, Kriel, Malherbe, Etzebeth Le Rouxe and Vermulaen. Steal sharpens steal.
The Frizel Yellow card took almsot 10 min to decide if they want it to REmain Yellow or go to REd. And Initially i was Penalty only. However on the reverse angle not only does he come from the side at a crazy angle he has a swinging arm into the leg of Bongi. You can clearly see the moment that momentum hits is when bongis leg went. I feel that was a piece of terrible dirty play and he could be lucky it stayed a Yellow. Saffa goggles on but it looked like he targeted the only hooker in the team
Exactly what I thought... With Malcolm Marx out they assumed we'd be in big trouble if Mbonambi got compromised too, but Deon Fourie ended up doing a good job. Seemed like a piece of cynical play upon review.
Kiwi’s are a bunch of cheats. Targeted Bongi within the first 3mins - Frezzel eyes were only for Bongi. He came in at a 90’ angle to the ruck, Missed the neck rolled, then ended up buckling Bongi’s leg on SA’s side of the ruck. The only player to go off the pitch with a serious injury. But there game plan didn’t work after a 38 year old flanker put in a 78min performance like that.
Deon was awesome but our scrum and line out was not on song - Bongi out also neutralized out 7/1 bench ! Let’s talk about the forward pass for that try - come on ! Let’s be honest at least!
The Shannon Frizell yellow card is not him rolling away after a tackle, he neck rolled Bongi and dropped his entire bodyweight onto Bongi's leg to make sure Bongi can't steal the ball at the breakdown. Frizell's actions ended Bongi's final after 3mins, deserved the yellow card imo
Yeah. Felt for Sam Cane to be honest - not a fan of the auto-red card when there's no malice in it. Frizell I think was lucky - that was pretty cynical and on either Bongi or Faf in that game with that bench, that kind of cynicism seemed premeditated frankly.
@@ballasgleekI don’t understand this. How do you get to no malice? Head to head happens. Shoulder to head is almost always dirty. High tackle don’t just happen. No mitigation. This was the only shoulder to head in the competition. (?) Kriel was as important as Bongi to our defence. Even a HIA could have turned the game.
Frizell was lucky it was only yellow. It was a disgusting cleanout. At this level players are so well coached and are aware of the laws (or should be). There was one other yellow card in the tournament i think it was a Pool D game
Barnes didnt apologise to Savea for making the wrong decision. People reaally need to open their ears i swear. 'I didnt watch the replay. Sorry Ardie, i didnt see it that way' - Wayne Barnes
@@LB_die_Kaapie it’s clear as day on there. The first part you have correct. The part you’re missing is when Ardie asked if what he did was ok and Wayne said yeah. I’m not saying this is game changing we lost fair and square. But what you’re saying is this didn’t happen and it did
Just felt this needs to be said... To SAM CANE We think we know how much it hurts, but we really can't fully imagine it. We know what's facing you when you get home. But never forget this.... For many years we've watched you being an absolute warrior on the field and a humble gent off it. You've epitomised All Black rugby. And you had impossibly huge boots to fill when you took over from Richie. Remember that one moment doesn't define your career and won't define your legacy - you've done so much more than just that. As you face a bitterly disappointed* nation, know that you have deep respect from us Bok fans, plus our commiserations, even as we celebrate. Thank you for the player you have been, and hopefully still will be. Aroha *[Thanks to @lLove1Monster for pointing out that NZ isn't "furious" - my bad :)]
Nah, but he will get swallowed up and spat out... Southern rugby is not nearly as forgiving as up north, I highly doubt Sam cane returns with the squad
I don’t think Cane getting red carded was the reason why the ABs lost. They went for the corner not the sticks. Two kicks failed their mark. When you don’t take the points on offer then small margins become gulfs.ABs seriously could have had this. Boks were out on their feet by the last ten.
I have to say the Frizell incident was pretty suspicious - this is the highest level of the game and that was the clumsiest challenge on literally the one guy the Springboks couldn't really afford to lose. I doubt that the injury was fully intentional, but it's impossible to say that the ABs wouldn't have targeted this weak point in the SA lineup and they will have had specific instructions to rile Mbonambi up. Just my err.. Two Cents.. and the fact that the bunker took so long to conclude that it should remain yellow makes me think they came close to upgrading to red.
You guys were about Libbok and the Boks not having a reliable kicker - I guess we were listening when you guys should have. I thought Frizzell was lucky to only get a yellow, it looked very cynical, especially after its general knowledge that the Boks were down 1 hooker - also it was a neckroll - totally illegal on its own merit. If there was a way to curtail the Boks scrum, it would be to take out their specialist hooker. Call me a cynic.....Sam Cane was unlucky for me, the intention was not to make head contact. Kolisi was unlucky to get even a yellow for me. The initial contact was clearly on the shoulder. No complaints with Kolbe, but I have seen those NOT given too in this tournement. We must remember the conditions were not condusive to running rugby. The biggest difference between the 2 teams for me is that the Boks took their chances and the ABs did not.
The last three games took 9 years off my life expectancy. I loved this world cup, think a lot more teams have upped their standards.... Much closer games than before....
Rugby is a game that can and should be played according to your strengths. I heard a good football analogy: NZ are like Brazil, whereas SA are like Germany. Both great teams; totally different styles. Keeping it football, Alex Ferguson said attack wins you matches; defence wins you championships.
But it’s a question of what style World Rugby want to encourage, through its laws and rule interpretations. Which style is going to make the game more successful? I saw an interesting stat - ALL of the knockout games were won by the team that had the ball less.
The original quote is "Offence wins games (or "sell tickets" according to different sources), Defence wins championships" and is first attributable to Bear Bryant, an American football coach.
People talking about is SA's style boing and bad for Rugby. Not at all. How can you watch any of the last three games of SA and thik it's boring? Also, in MMA they say 'styles make fights' - same for Rugby, it keeps things interesting. League is exciting for the first few games. you watch and then it all feels very similar. To me, at least
Imagine changing the rules because we you can’t combat the oppositions strength. Why don’t other countries come together and find a way to beat this multi dimensional view of the game.
@@winstonwiggill2824 to be fair it's been a consistent interpretation even though it's pretty clearly incorrect upon review. No problem with them missing it in the wallows of losing a WC Final.
Theres audio footage of it online. This is the convo word for word after the tmo replay it on the big screen and Ardie and Barnes see it which innitiates the convo. Barns: "sorry mate, I didn't see the replay. I thought you stayed on him, i didn't see you come off enough" Ardie: "so that was alright?" Referring to his steal attempt Barnes: "yep" He admits he was wrong, then he proceeds to allow the penalty anyway.
@@qwashubi sorry mate, I didn't see the replay is the reply to Ardie's question about the in stadium replay. Barnes tells him sorry I didn't see the replay, then explains the picture he saw live with no clear release.
@@sdv917 at the minimum he made a dubious call that was ultimately incorrect that provided more points than the endgame point difference, but what most people are mad about was the last interraction where Ardie asks if he was ok and barnes says yes. He proceeds to let them have the penalty and then not long later goes back 4 phases to recind an ABs try. Some consistancy in the reffing would be great
Gents...For the conditions (slippery/wet) and the occasion (final/pressure), the Bok's game plan of letting the opposition have the ball and make mistakes offered the greater % of winning. 🤷 And you are both being far more gracious in defeat than I think I or my fellow bok supporters may have been 👍
Yes, agree. Great tactics but it's a shame the Boks chose to play that type of game. Rugby (worldwide) needed to watch a spectacular, open flowing game. That became an impossibility with the Springbok approach. I love Rugby and was hoping for a wow game. It wasn't. So the real opportunity to promote the game worldwide was lost. In saying that, congratulations SA, we had opportunities but couldn't convert. So, no sour grapes here, just a disappointment an opportunity was lost. Negative,- risk adverse play and crazy tech (microscopic type) decisions leave me cold.
The weather in Gauteng is pretty much the same😂 but the mood is much better ngl😂 honestly it was a great game, a nail biting finish. Both teams played great. And as a Springbok fan, I think I aged 30 years in 3 weeks, and I am not even 30 yet😂
The TMO activity was to ensure that all decisions were correct considering it was a final.. sadly it doesn’t seem to have worked..coz people still have issues. If something was missed by the ref and people deem it have impacted the game, they were still going to complain.. This is professional sport, so I think TMO’s will carry on coz referees have taken a lot of flack , world rugby is just helping them out..
Regards your springbok style convo, you are baited by media comments. Watch the actual springbok play, we score plenty of tries. 4 in the quarter against France alone. I think your just regurgitating the nz media with that one. Rugby is doing incredibly well in SA and we love the style so not everyone feels the same about nz style. Saying that ABs will always be the best rivals.
I think if anyone gave SA a choice between having Bongi stay on and having a yellow against NZ, everyone would have chosen to have Bongi stay on. We'll never know but those lost scrums and lineouts could have made the winning margin a bit bigger.
We are doing our best to be as insufferable as possible to our Kiwi supporting co-workers. Had the tables been turned they would be giving us stick 24/7 no doubt.
@twocentsrugby you said you haven't rewatched the game, I suggest you do, and listen to what Wayne Barnes actually said. He didn't apologize for making the wrong call. He did use the word sorry, but not apologizing for his call, but saying sorry, I didn't see it the way you [Ardie] do. Read the article in the NZ Herald.
Boys! It is done! Its winter in October, but we hardly feel it because our hearts are warmed by Siya and my Springboks! You guys are my favourite Rugby Podcast, so much fun, but realistic as well!
Barns did not apologize.. he said "sorry, i did not see the replay" meaning he was trying to get savea's attention saying... "sorry/ excuse me... i did not see the replay" and then he went on to say from his perspective, "you did not clear the tackle enough for me" paraphrasing. English as we know is a horrible language since the same words and phrases means different things, depending on the circumstances.
One of the key elements people miss on why Kolisi wasn't upgraded is that when he committed to the tackle, Ardie was well upright, and he dropped about half a meter into the tackle, which Kolisi also dropped into. Those are called mitigating factors haha.
Head to head contact happens. Because heads are mostly level. There was only one direct tackle to the head in the World Cup. Sam Cane. High tackles like that just don’t happen by accident. Cane has 3cm on Kriel. Even if kriel braces, Cane needs to raise or stay upright to get his shoulder to Kriel’s head. Now the most skilful team in the world is just so clumsy.
The referee didn't apologize for the call watch it back. Ardie pointed to the screen and said the Boks didn't release the ref replied "sorry mate I didn't see the replay, I thought you stayed on him, didn't come off it enough" and all the commentators started shouting and screaming without listening to what is said. The ref literally said he didn't see the replay then explained why he gave the penalty. Where is the so called apology for a wrong decision?
Shannon knew what he was doing. It was very cynical. He moves his arm intentionally to create the injury. I get it that you don't want to see that but that was a red card all day long. The TMO thought the same and that's why they took till the last second to decide. They let it slide but then couldn't let Sam's slide. Shannon's card was the only card that should have been given.
Guys, South African love the way we play our game. We love playing without the ball. We love our mauls, our defense, our scrums, our kicks etc.. If people don't find it exciting, it sounds like their problem. Like you mentioned - There are rugby league. Be our guests.
Frizzel "rolled away," onto Bongi's outstretched leg, with his arms around Bongi's neck. "Neck rolls" are dangerous. Hard not to see it as intentional.
33:30 - that dude criticising how the Boks play only one boring way needs to go back & rewatch the France-SA quarter final. That was end to end action from start to finish, 7 tries in total, a real adrenaline rush. Or rewatch that Twickenham game versus NZ prior to RWC, definitely not boring mate. Or the game in Australia during the most recent Rugby Championship is another good example. The Boks are perfectly capable of different styles of Rugby. Sometimes you have to adapt, adjust, improvise etc depending on playing conditions (RWC final was very wet so was never going to be a high scoring affair), opposition's game plan, unplanned incidents on the day such as player injuries, red or yellow cards etc. But I'm sorry, anyone who thinks that QF game versus France was boring because of the way the Boks played, well then i don't know what to say other than maybe you need to find a different sport to watch.
SA don’t always play like that Tony, it depends on the conditions a circumstances. Watching the ABs (who also have a talented attacking back line) dropping the ball, wouldn’t have been lost on the players or the coaches.
I know right. Would've thought the Twicks game would've shown that. We were running the ball that game, it wasn't all mauling tries ect. You have to play to the conditions, field in front of you and does feel ABs fell into an all too familiar trap again where that is concerned and no, not a Foster related issue, its been part of the ABs for decades now.
With regards to the yellow in the third minute: it’s not just the knee fall, it’s the fact it’s a neck roll, and then because he’s neck rolled him illegally and taken the knee out, that makes it a yellow card
It will never stop being a source of amusement that Mark is so complimentary of reffing in hockey, whereas the first comment made by every hockey fan I've introduced to rugby has been to compliment the reffing and specifically how well rugby refs explain a decision. 😆Which, incidentally, is also my experience. Of the sports I've watched, hockey is better than basketball, but rugby easily has the best reffing.
33:57 its counter attacking rugby 🏉 why are you unhappy about it ,the Allblacks have been doing that for years, pounced on loose balls and counter attack from their own half and look like this great attacking team but in actual fact it was of opposition mistakes
28:00 About the disallowed try from the Ardie knock on, I saw somewhere that the TMO is only supposed to go back 2 phases for any clear and obvious knock ons. And the try was 5 phases. Hence, disallowing it was a breach of protocols. Anyone know is that a correct assessment?
The reason I don’t like the 3rd 4th play off is it’s extra bonus points for IRB standings and double points then for the next 4 years you have to scrape zero point nothing of a point when you play regular test matches 😡🙄🤦🏼….if you’re out you’re out it’s called knockout rugby 🙄🙌🏻🤦🏼
I don't like the way the game is being played at the moment. I think running rugby isn't insentivized. Think about it, a try isn't even worth two penalties. And it's sooo much easier to get two penalties than it is a try. That's what you call "negative rugby". Maybe a try should be worth 6 or 7 to force teams to change their game plan? Don't shout at me.
Absolutely agree with you. Easiest way to win now is to force penalties. How much pride can a team have when only winning games by forcing errors. Rugby def dying
The reason why All Black don't like the TMO is because they always has foul play in the game and forward passes. Most time the All Black gets away with it. That why the rest of the World want TMO. Why are you guys not talking about number of roll neck All Black perform during the game.Coming from the side during mauls and no penalty.
Can anyone recommend a good place to send some words of encouragement to Sam Cane? I think he needs to feel the country's support after this, he'll be hurting bad
Professional sport is about winning. Winning is entertainment. Winning gets fans. Why is interest in rugby waning in New Zealand? Not because rugby is boring it was the most exciting world cup ever it is because they no longer win all the time. And everybody is negative. The pundits with these boring comments without appreciating sport is about winning brings the negativity over the game. We should promote this game is for everybody with different styles. Nobody complained about a "boring" 7-6 final in 2011... Because winning. be positive how we speak about the game and grow it. Fozzy is all about ball in play. this game had 38 minutes...Or mayber he should stop watching NZ vs Italy and rather get his team to kick more than 50% in a final and go for goal rather than touch in a World Cup FInal. But yeah entertainment!
I agree we can't have TMO intervene so much, like that call where Fourie ripped the ball the TMO was in the refs ear within 2 seconds to say there was a knee on the ground so a tackle not a maul No Replay nothing. Like ok then just let the TMO ref the game and the ref can be the messenger?
Come on guys. A game in the rain against the all blacks you have to pick the right strategy to win. No one moaned about England's strategy vs the bokke in the rain. You have to play the right strategy with the right selection against the opponent on the day to win.
What a great World Cup in the end! I know you’ll be gutted guys but did you think they’d win when it started? Kiwis should be happy ABs improved so much and only had one hard game before the final. I am a bit 😟 over the griping by Kiwis, we’ve got so bad at losing it’s embarrassing. Maybe a result of so much winning ☺️ Frizell was a definite yellow, apparently called a judo roll, and it’s really dangerous and injured a key player. We don’t know if it’s intentional, I do know Frizell has a known bad temper and violent streak. Barnes did not say sorry to Ardie for the penalty, he simply said he didn’t see the replay but that he did not see a release from Ardie. I didn’t either. Canes red card was an easy red, he’s upright and the tackle was never legal. Cane was never our best 7, he was never the right call for the captain, he just doesn’t have the right attitude for me. Kolisi could easily have been a penalty, he was bent and wrapped, nowhere near a red. ABs had opportunities and didn’t play that well IMO, kicking was dire, too many turnovers won by SA and obviously the red and yellow didn’t help. SA also had opportunities for tries they didn’t get. This isn’t the first tight final! I think the 2015 final spoilt us!! I was still disappointed not to see France there, but very happy for South Africa 🇿🇦 really one of the best teams we’ve seen and a cracking coaching team for sure, out of this world. Cheers for all the chat guys 👍🏾
I love crunching tackles more than beautiful tries. I guess that is why I played Flank in school. But yeah that final was awesome those bone crunchers on the all blacks was just awesome
No Barnes did not apologise for not seeing it, he said “Sorry I didn’t see it come off enough”…meaning he didn’t see the release. Also the laws state that players need to make the release very clear to help the ref
The TMO got the Smith No try wrong because after the line out there were over 4 phases they can only rule on 2 or less after the line out and with the penalty if the boks hadn’t infringed the knock on wouldn’t of happen too
I think the penalty for Mbonambi was primarily for the neck roll, landing on his leg ensured that it was given. World Rugby Law 10.4(e) "Every time the head or the neck is deliberately grabbed or choked, the offending player runs the risk of receiving a yellow or red card"
Agree with Savea, but I thought Libbok had more big game impact. Also, Nienaaber not getting the coach of the year is just a middle finger to SA rugby 🤣
You guys are so funny in your grief ... thanks for sharing that pain, its so funny . Your dry wit and insight into the Kiwi psyche is very cool . Our teams sit on opposite sides of a rugby ball in regards to mentality ( not style of play, mind you ) mentality wise we can change our mind easily if it will increase our chance to win a game . Except it ! We skin the cat that way ...except it .... dont judge it for your pleasure ....2 cents enjoy that way of skinning the cat and that counts ... in fact gentlemen I will venture the believe that we are about to really play a more attacking ball in hand rugby over the next 4 years and that might turn out quite scarry for other teams . In the meantime be assured here in SA we do have all styles available to us and we enjoy them all . Even our Springboks can turn it on , flair wise, as we showed agains France and Romania BUT tactics is about everything , its wide , like the devide between the two sides of a rugby ball 😂🙃

3rd in 2019, 2nd in 2023 and Player Of The Year. To be fair, both teams had disciplinary and accuracy problems leaving points on the field. Congratulations SA, the hardest route to the cup, was impressive well played and well done.
As long as it's rugby not league. France plays long kicks and no ball. Wales used to play similar to Boks 2019, no one complained. Wet days change the game. Bok game has an game identity sorted at last, now they will develop.. with players like Moodie, Ngomezulu,Roos and Elrich ( watch these names!) For rugby. go BOKKE
The last two matches between All Blacks vs Springboks, the All Blacks had poor discipline. However, the All Blacks were the most accurate team after their opening loss to France. Interesting.
Red card rules need to change. Punish the player and not the team. I'm saying this as SA supporter, felt really unfair to play against 14 men, NZ put up a fight but the rules need to be looked at.
Agreed. This has convinced me that the 20 minute red card is the best idea. When they came up with the concept, this exact situation was the worst case scenario they wanted to avoid.

I remember Jordie missing a kick in the 80th minute to win it against the brumbies the other year
Funny jokes about Razor winning 7 in a row at the end worth sticking around for 🤣😂😂
Lost the league and the cricket then this was the cherry on top. Horrible weekend for NZ sport. Did we win anything? I'm clutching at straws😢
@@UglyKidJoe71 agree and the Springboks chose to go for points, had they gone to the corners it might have been Twickenham all over again

On the Wayne Barnes apology, he said "sorry mate I didn't see the replay," then explains why he penalized him, "not enough of a clear release for me." He was not admitting he was wrong.
Thank you. Everyone is getting this so wrong!
I'm not saying it, Wayne Barnes said it.@@Love1Monster
True, but the captain cards disparity was the issue. Both were yellow, Or were both red.
Considering the Springboks love for set piece, and desire to slow the pace of the game down, I reckon it was a pretty big brain tactic..
that was my thought as well. Still, some were pretty poor attempts.
Pollards would've been over if Ardie hadn't charged it down. Good job by Ardie.
It was a world cup final, not a super rugby game at Wonganui. The Boks did what they're needed to do to win the world cup.
Was my first thought too
100% agree, and fishy that was done to Bongi. Dirty player. But respect to the rest of NZ
It wasnt an apology from ref Barns for a wrong call , he said "sorry I didn't see it like that" , not I got it wrong.
Rassie will never get a heart attack because his heart isn't stupid enough to attack him
😂🔥
LMFAO😂
Gold 😂
Rassie has counted to infinity, twice.
❤
Rassie never flush the toilet. He simply scares the shit out of it
The Shannon Frizell yellow card is not him rolling away after a tackle, he neck rolled Bongi and dropped his entire bodyweight onto Bongi's leg to make sure Bongi can't steal the ball at the breakdown.
@@ballasgleek yeah I agree
@@ballasgleekI don’t understand this. How do you get to no malice? Head to head happens. Shoulder to head is almost always dirty. High tackle don’t just happen. No mitigation. This was the only shoulder to head in the competition. (?) Kriel was as important as Bongi to our defence. Even a HIA could have turned the game.
Frizell was lucky it was only yellow. It was a disgusting cleanout. At this level players are so well coached and are aware of the laws (or should be). There was one other yellow card in the tournament i think it was a Pool D game
Yes. They were impeccable at the ruck all night expect when they needed to eliminate Bongi.
Barnes didnt apologise to Savea for making the wrong decision. People reaally need to open their ears i swear.

We think we know how much it hurts, but we really can't fully imagine it.

*[Thanks to @lLove1Monster for pointing out that NZ isn't "furious" - my bad :)]
Really feel for him, from an Irish fan
Nah, but he will get swallowed up and spat out... Southern rugby is not nearly as forgiving as up north, I highly doubt Sam cane returns with the squad
Yes. All of that. ❤
@@RicksPhatPharm-vw2lbnah, NZ fans don’t strike me like that, he’ll be fine
Agree. If Frizzell had roundhouse kicked Bongi, pundits would say he slipped (or Bongi ran into his foot).
Keo and Zels

Theres audio footage of it online. This is the convo word for word after the tmo replay it on the big screen and Ardie and Barnes see it which innitiates the convo.
Barns: "sorry mate, I didn't see the replay. I thought you stayed on him, i didn't see you come off enough"
Ardie: "so that was alright?" Referring to his steal attempt
Barnes: "yep"

Agree, I think it was the ABs desire to play "beautiful" rugby in the first half, and them kicking for touch instead of points. Lost it for them.
Yep.@@Nicholas-fw1id

The crock roll was cynical and planned, hence the karma red card as a consequence … stuff don’t just happen for no reason!😳
Definitely intentional. Sam Cane was karma for Sam Cane. Karma was winning despite dirty tricks.
Barnes never apologized. He said that he "never saw it that way".
Yeah, they want to have Barnes apologise for the ABs loss. What a laugh
Faf de klerk is the human version of a jack Russel
You can take pleasure in knowing that is miserably cold and wet in SA today🤗
The referee didn't apologize for the call watch it back. Ardie pointed to the screen and said the Boks didn't release the ref replied "sorry mate I didn't see the replay, I thought you stayed on him, didn't come off it enough" and all the commentators started shouting and screaming without listening to what is said. The ref literally said he didn't see the replay then explained why he gave the penalty. Where is the so called apology for a wrong decision?
Kiwi commentaries reaching for an excuse.
These all blacks are very clumsy. He wasn’t sure which way to roll and accidentally rolled into the ruck. Because players have limbs.
I understand Barns didn’t apologize but said sorry I didn’t see it like that.
dude landed on his leg, then pulled him to the side round his neck, no way it wasnt intentional.
Lads look at the bright side, Tony does not have to get a tattoo of Ian Foster on his ass.
With regards to the yellow in the third minute: it’s not just the knee fall, it’s the fact it’s a neck roll, and then because he’s neck rolled him illegally and taken the knee out, that makes it a yellow card
Nah it's a red
Yes. Elbow to leg. Yellow if not red. And the tactical implication of taking out a key player can’t be ignored.
Defence win games in Rugby, same way good fielding in Cricket win you games...
Defence and goal kicking. Totally agree
Yup can't wait to see the rest of the countries choosing this game plan. It'll be interesting for rugby
Rassie never attended a coaching school. The school attended to him
😂😂😂
It’s snowing in SA!! Wtf??😮😮😮
Everyone credits Rassie but... defense wins championships and Nienebar is a defense coach lol.
You two are disappointing. Always loved your unbiased views in general, but after listening to this, think l will unsubscribe....
KIWIS ARE THE WORST LOSERS! Honestly, just have some dignity and give the opposition their dues
You’re so right. I feel like my fellow kiwis haven’t been very good sports about rugby since we stopped winning all the time.
Been really negative towards Tony. I apologise.
You are actually not too bad. Thanks for the content guys👏🏻
Don't worry boys. If Frizell didn't take out Bongi, it would would not have been a close game.
Maybe a result of so much winning ☺️
Frizell was a definite yellow, apparently called a judo roll, and it’s really dangerous and injured a key player.
Barnes didn’t apologise for that call. He said sorry I saw it differently. Important difference.
I love crunching tackles more than beautiful tries. I guess that is why I played Flank in school. But yeah that final was awesome those bone crunchers on the all blacks was just awesome
This springbok team will demolish the mccaw all black team. They have had much harder competition this WC. From a Fiji fan
No Barnes did not apologise for not seeing it, he said “Sorry I didn’t see it come off enough”…meaning he didn’t see the release. Also the laws state that players need to make the release very clear to help the ref
The TMO got the Smith No try wrong because after the line out there were over 4 phases they can only rule on 2 or less after the line out and with the penalty if the boks hadn’t infringed the knock on wouldn’t of happen too
Come to Ireland and wallow in your pity here, you'll have plenty of company. Although ye inflicted our pain 😂
I think the penalty for Mbonambi was primarily for the neck roll, landing on his leg ensured that it was given.
World Rugby Law 10.4(e)
"Every time the head or the neck is deliberately grabbed or choked, the offending player runs the risk of receiving a yellow or red card"
Only great men lift the Web Ellis...sorry guys Sam Cane aint a great, look at the past winners, all great leaders.
Commiserations lads. Ur were a formidable opponents in the final. Glad Savea and Telia got awards tho well deserved
Same here in SA, weather wise. Been cold and gloomy since the final.
Even the weather felt the nervous energy as a result of this encounter
Feel your pain, weather front moving in on Ireland and we won't be able to take our children out on Halloween, and this is the country where it started. We are going into our shells lol
Bok game has an game identity sorted at last, now they will develop.. with players like Moodie, Ngomezulu,Roos and Elrich ( watch these names!)
For rugby. go BOKKE
Rassie once killed two stones with one bird
The last two matches between All Blacks vs Springboks, the All Blacks had poor discipline. However, the All Blacks were the most accurate team after their opening loss to France. Interesting.
Red card rules need to change. Punish the player and not the team. I'm saying this as SA supporter, felt really unfair to play against 14 men, NZ put up a fight but the rules need to be looked at.
Agreed. This has convinced me that the 20 minute red card is the best idea. When they came up with the concept, this exact situation was the worst case scenario they wanted to avoid.

Stupid game? PK will change yor views. lol
He didn't apologised! Dont talk BS!
