I have two older brothers who are still convinced slayer is the heaviest band ever to grace gods green earth, its like man wtf, I mean I like thrash metal but definitely not for its "heavy, chugging rythms."
I really don’t understand why people are like, insulted? by production like this. It’s essential to the feeling of the record. Without the disharmony that comes from certain aspects of the production there would be a whole layer of tension missing from the song. I want this shit to sludge. Not be sleek and perfect. All the mud and feedback and overtones give it an almost mythically evil aesthetic.
I was looking at hovercraft amps.....that brought me to the hoverfest TH-cam video and watched these guys performance and they def caught my ear....then I was listening to dopesmoker and happened to see a a comment from this author saying "check out my band".....full circle....I fucking love this sound

i recently went on a trip to LA and stopped by amoeba records. found this gem of an album in the discounted vinyl section. I picked it up cuz i thought it looked neat. (that and $5 for a record is an absolute steal considering there isn't a second hand record store near where I live, and they usually run me anywhere from $30 to $45.) anyway, I looked the album up and found this vid. something I noticed before I bought the record was that 2 of the song names seem to take inspiration from Clive Barker? this song with Rawhead (he has a short story titled "Rawhead Rex.") and The Road To Middian. (the underground city of monsters from "Cabal.") idk if I'm right or not but its neat regardless!
Tony Copeland yeah, we're not stoked on the snare. That's what happens when you're broke. You record with your friends, you don't like the snare sound but you move on with your life.
I don't smoke weed, but I do enjoy some good stoner/ doom metal!
